My new book? Does that mean you've got other's? What's it about?
It's a crime/thriller about a police officer who has to solve the abduction and murders of 4 young girls while facing the ghosts of his past. He or she haven't decided yet gets caught in a eleberate game a cat and mouse. I don't know whether I'm going to kill them off at the hands of the villian or write a few with the same detective. I'm just experimenting with genre at the moment. I have already written a spy/thriller but my publishing deal fell through. Their loss I suppose!
Thanks for the intrest Lexi.
That sounds rather interesting, mrbond.
I'll be looking forward to hearing more about it. A pity the publishing deal for your first book fell through.
I do hope the response you got from the publishing company wasn't anything like this:
Why oh why would anyone read this crap
Kind regards,
Evert
That was funny. I'll let you know when it's finished.
Good luck on your endeavour, mrbond. As they say: "Come on in...the water's warm!"
Thank you Loeffelholz. Have you got any writing experiance yourself?

Well, like any true entrepreneur, or budding author - NEVER GIVE UP
Best of luck with your journey.... you seem to be in very good company here at AJB
Thank you Loeffelholz. Have you got any writing experiance yourself?
A little
What is up with the picture? LOL
That's funny

I thought I did the understatement bit around here...
You do!
I have my first rough draft completed!
Good for you! Sounds like pretty quick work, judging by the date of your first post, so that's pretty impressive
I started my current project in '07 (though I took a 6-month break to rewrite another one), and just finished today...so I'm quite envious of your productivity. Looking forward to seeing your work!
As the cliche goes...it's not as easy as it looks...cheers!

Thank you Loeffelholz! Your website is very impressive. Well done mate.
At this rate, you could easily knock out another 24 by the years end. Is it like a ladybird book?
..........................Ripped up my first draft! I think it it wasn't something I would enjoy reading then nobody else would. I will start most of it again. I didn't like the direction of my novel. Much harder to write crime than I thought!
By the way my book should if done well should split into four each section giving a different viewpoint. Hope it reads well.
And by the way not a ladybird book!
"He can knock 'em out like bacon and eggs, y'know..."

Yeah your right! Morecumbe and Wise are legends
My first draft took three months. The next draft went to a publisher, then came back two months later with a tear-jerking critique. Two more drafts, a re-write, an editor and an agent's input, and six months later the publisher took it back. A copy-editor and myself did another re-write over the next five months. A year after all this and it was in print. Another six months for the first royalty cheque, advance subtracted, of course. Get used to waiting and don't rush anything.
Ok thanks for the advice thesecretagent. May I enquire as what your book was about?
Thanks
Thesecretagent what is your book called?
Spiral of Conspiracy, By Anthony P Bateman
It's an espionage thriller (of course!). An ex-SAS officer is tasked by MI5 to bring in a traitor who has sold the personnel files of The General Intelligence Group field agents. There's also the matter of a missing nuclear device on its way from Latvia to Britain by way of a Cornish fisherman who thinks he's smuggling Russian icons.
