What's really strange is that not only does the cat not have a name, but Blofeld never even refers to it--he holds it, he pets it, but he never once mentions that he has a cat in his arms. Even when Bond kicks the "wrong pussy" in DAF, Blofeld doesn't make a single comment about the cat.
He does refer to it when in drag: "Look what the cat dragged in!"
I always thought that "SPECTRE" would have been a cool name for Blofeld's cat...
In FRWL Blofeld explains how the smartest of the Japanese Fighting Fish "waits... and then, like SPECTRE, he strikes!" Klebb says she's amused by the parallel, but the cat too comes out on top in this scene, striking with its paws and munching the fish it's fed... so maybe Blofeld's meaning is ALSO that his criminal organisation bides its time "like SPECTRE" the cat!
Critics and material I don't need. I haven't changed my act in 53 years.

(Bit of a tribute to Cary Grant there, sorry if it's a bit oblique, hopefully some if us oldies will get it, not you though AOS) )
