You only need post things once Ken! ;)

As for the belt buckle, I'm no sartorial expert, but I'm sure someone here knows ...

    Welcome to the forum BTW!!

I seem to remember it was made by Dunhill, who have provided cufflinks, lighters and the like for the Brosnan films.

It is most likely a dun hill

I am going to make one with the reppelling piton and wire once I find a replica...

is there any other belt buckle which comes very close to it

I think we're alone here Mike, but even so i have loooked at new and vintage Dunhill belts and nothing close to the Goldeneye Belt comes up, i also noticed every Dunhill Belt has there name stamped very visibly on the front, the piton belt has no marking on the front that i can tell.

maybe it was a non product placement in the film .

could it have been mad from brass by the prop makers themselves ...

I think it's either an off the shelf , out of the shops of the time belt ... similar to the blue tinted x - ray glasses from TWINE which were bought off the high street...

    and modified,,,,

there must be a belt out there ... which is identical and its more than likely cheap .. to buy

One thing I have found helpful in my props and replicas hunting .. well this has gome in handy when finding replica gund , knifes and a few other odds and end..

if you take a good picture of it to a good tailors or outfitters.. PLEASE note not a high street run of the mill clothes shop ..

a real tailors ... and show them it they will give you an idea what style it is and it will make that eBay search a lot easier...

I think once we find out the style of it it should'nt be too hard to track Down .. Does it not say in any prop books whcih brand it was...

Something which may help is in the illustrated book the secret world of OO7 it shows the wokings of it and a nice photo and artwork of it and says it's an italian leather belt that may narrow the search down a bit .. just a thought

I think there is good closeup pic of it in the Making of Goldeneye book.

sorry the belt is spanish leather.

I think its an off the shelf belt not very expensive,

I am sure the outfiters to the film might have supplyed it who was the out fitters..

brioni / turnbul and asser etc ?

Its the same old story .. you see it many moons ago its doesnt take your interest ... We have all done it I think us prop collectors ... once you can't get it ... you want it ... LOL

were a crazy breed ... LOL

between all of us I am sure we will track it down soon ... You have got me very interested in one now so I can modify it... i remember seeing a photograph in a japanese props bond book which showed a clear rubber tubing attached to it out of cameras view with compressed air for firing the piton .. I may be wrong but thats what it seemed. like .. I also think there was a few used in goldeneye simlar to all the Bond props there is always between 3 - 6 somtimes many more for different functions.

The leather part was Prada. The buckle was made by the prop department out of brass, all in all three were made as far as I can remember.

to be honest I think finding a manufactured replica will be better I am always up for making things from scratch however .. I think an Identical belt can be found I am getting closer... found some similar ones but not close enough .... Yet !
