Just from my personal experience, it is VERY possible to have fun without getting drunk. I get drunk partly because i'm in college and the two go hand in hand (ok im being very sterotypical) but I think that gives drinking a black eye are those people who don't know there limits and act like total a**holes to people. That ruins it all for everyone. A little is ok, but too much is never a good thing. With that said, I know I don't need any drinks or drugs or anything to have a good time with my friends, but if its there I'll go for it - but it's never a neccessity
I understand what you're saying, C Walken, and - no, I don't think drinking is bad. As long as it's limited as you've said. But I have a problem when people drink because of peer pressure or they want to be "cool" and whatnot (not pointed to you).
When drinking, I have enough to get merry, and I'll drink enough to stay consistently merry for the whole evening. I don't think you need alcohol to have a good time, and I rarely drink at parties because I don't feel I have to. Still, alcohol can provide you with some funny and incredible memories of good times with your friends. Then again, sometimes you don't remember anything from the night before so...

I'm not quite at the drinking a lot age. Too bad... I'm kidding. Drinking too much is not cool.
When people say drinking isn't cool, it makes it sound as if people in their late teens do it just for the sake of it. In a lot of cases that's true, people do it to fit in and look cool by getting wasted. But it's not always the case - I drink because I actually enjoy the drink for what it is, not for what it will do to me. I never, ever get drunk; like I said, I get merry, so basically I have enough for me to completely chill out and joke around and have a good time. Never enough to erase any memory of the evening, however. I don't see anything uncool about drinking simply because you like the taste of the drink!
Liquor certainly because I dislike drinking large quantities of fizzy drinks, and if you plan to keep yourself steadily (lightly) drunk, liqour is far easier to control it with. I just don't think I could physically handle that much beer in my system, and if I'm drinking then I can have a great time with much smaller quantities of alcohol.

2001 POSTS! In record time, I bet, too. Oh yeah, I'm so dedicated. 2001 POSTS! YAY!
Def agreed with the liquor comment...beer is very filling...
yet i do enjoy corona...a good taste - expensive but worth it in terms of beer. The only thing is most hard liquor makes me gag if i dont really concentrate, so I do prefer beer most of the time.

ha...me too...I'm not at the legal drinking age in the US yet...I'm 17, and Legal Age is 21...yea, I tend not to drink...beer smells funny anyway...I've had a bit of wine at Thanksgiving, but that was only a small bit, and high quality. (The people who's house TG is always at are cooking enthusiasts, and wine experts)
I actually don't like the taste of alcahol, in fact I'd go as far as to say I hate it! I'm 16 by the way and the legal drinking age in Britain is 18 (isn't it?!). My friends scare sometimes with how much they like alcahol! To me it just tastes like someones taken a really nice drink, and ruined it.
Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice and everyone dies.
Exactly...lol...URINETOWN has finished it's opening weekend run...and I have taken to compiling a list of Cladwell's death lines...they are far to amusing, and will be shared here when they are compleate...lol. Well, it's off to school for me, I'll see you guys later!

It's my brother's birthday and my mom left me at home with him all day, cause she had to work. It wasn't too bad though. He's just lazed about and all I had to do was make him some lunch, give him some sweets, and leave him watching Shrek 2!
I spoke to my mate on the phone and we were talking about The Real John Lennon, which was on five last night. I was tired and so I taped it. It was on from 11:45-1:25. She taped it too cause she's a big fan, but hasn't watched it yet.
So we talked about, then about how neither of us had a clue what on earth was going on really, when the General Election went on. Finally, we got talking about guys. We talked about guys we've been dead good mates with and we talked quite a bit about this guy we both used to fancy, who left on Thursday. And how I wanted to kiss him. :x And I don't know why! Then, we talked about guys we fancy. I fancy this nice guy called Jamie. It's just he told me he had to be somewhere, but then someone told me that really he had detention, so I didn't meet him the next day like I should of. But I haven't seen him since and I really really want to! X-( :x
And she fancies this guy who's in my tutor, and who is also my fellow member of the Student Council! He doesn't really do much, so I have to be firm and say, "Listen! I ain't doing all the work! You've gotta do some too!". He's alright though and I can understand some of the reasons my mate fancies him, cause he is dead good looking! BUT SO IS MY JAMIE!!!!!!
Moving slightly off topic, but then again that is the title of this forum so by moving off topic I am, inherently coming full circle and reverting back onto the topic. Anyway moving off topic slightly:
Can anyone tell me what year Queen did that massive concert at Wembly?
Also where did Freddy come from?
And finally which year did he die?
Thanks

I dont want to post this on the real Bond topics because this is a bit off color - but Ill post a link here cuz its really funny! make sure you have your sound on
What I mean't was that you have produced only 70 posts in a couple of years. Is it because the General is putting you off?
I have much sympathy with you if that is indeed the case.
Ah, he's driven you out before, I suppose?
Honestly, I prefer reading threads than replying to them. I'm online quite often, and sometimes I like to contribute my opinions on matters I feel strongly about, or I'll simply be social and say 'Hello!' in the Random Chat thread. Seventy posts in two years isn't a great deal I agree - but perhaps it makes the rare occasions I do post more special!

Speaking of quantity. Hello, Sir Donald.
What I mean't was that you have produced only 70 posts in a couple of years. Is it because the General is putting you off?
I have much sympathy with you if that is indeed the case.
Hey, are you insinuating that my posts have no quality? I hope not.

- Sir Donald.
Just hold on a doggone minute!
Is it "National Pick-On-The-General" day today?
I sincerely hope you're talking to Sir Donald and not me. Grace Kelly wouldn't be impressed...
Why should today be any different to all the others. )
