Highly regarded both historically and today, in 2004 he was voted the greatest British Prime Minister of the 20th Century by a poll of 139 academics organised by Ipsos MORI. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clement_Attlee
That's embarrassing for David Cameron, who claimed that Thatcher was our greatest peacetime prime minister...

And in the face of yet more innocent civilians being attacked by unstable individuals who have been allowed access to dangerous items (not firearms in this case admittedly) the US government has voted not to impose tighter gun laws in the name of preserving some out-dated and completely misinterpreted tradition.
Meanwhile in the UK £10m was cut from the national arts budget this week for "unavoidable reasons". That just so happens to be the cost of a certain "not-at-all-state funeral" which took place today.
I do hate democracy.

What was it that Churchill said about democracy? That it was the worst form of government until you looked at all of the others. Can't say I disagree with that and neither should you, Jedi.

No that is precisely my point Silhouette Man, democracy is the lesser of many evils! I don't know why there aren't more benign dictatorships, it would be so simple!

Well the late great Lord Hailsham called our UK style of government an "elective dictatorship" famously and he was very nearly Prime Minister in 1963 and was Lord Chancellor between 1970 and 1974 and 1979 and 1987. Dig out his books - a legal and political master. He was at Eton with Ian Fleming.

It’s obvious that building a subway station would consist of digging a very large artificial cavern under the earth, but actually seeing one in progress is pretty incredible.

Pierce Brosnan Teaming Up With Bond Girl Olga Kurylenko For New Spy Film
November Man has been adapted from a book of the same name, which Brosnan and his production company partners have snapped up the rights for.
Brosnan, who turns 60 next month (May13), tells Wenn, "I'm about to go off to Serbia and do my own spy movie. Finally I have the director I want in Roger Donaldson and we're gonna do a piece called November Man so I shall jump back into that arena.
"I think there's another room on the stage for another spy! Daniel (Craig) can't have it all to himself. My co-star is a lovely actress called Olga Kurylenko, who seems to be going through leading men like hot dinners. She started with Daniel Craig and she's gonna end up with Brosnan! She's a gorgeous actress, beautiful woman. She's in and it's the older spy, younger spy."
