I know this is a real conflict and I'm not trying to be funny , but I couldn't help thinking
of a spectre meeting.

My local road is now modern, comfortable and boring. Before it was impractical, narrow, unforgiving and spectacular. Sometimes I miss the old one. On the old one there were goats. They would often lie down on the road, perferably right before a bend making me drive on the wrong side through the bend. Sometimes they blocked the road completely. Then I had to force my way through the herd. The trick was never to stop (because then they just sat down again and kept chewing), but to slalom forward in a stately pace. The goats would never hurry, but move away in the slowest and most indifferent manner they could. Sometimes the goats reminded me of teenagers being told to move by parents/teachers/police - they do it, but as slowly as possible just to make a point.
