Yeah me I hate all politics! Democracy, dictatorship, republics, all of them!
Without Politics where would we all be? It would be total chaos--there wouldn't be any leaders, laws, nothing. I wouldn't want that!

Besides, how can you hate all types of governments? Would you rather be free to post here (Democracy), or would you rather have to ask the government every time you wanted to come on here, then hope they let you on here (Communism)? And all that wouldn't be classified as politics, anyway: Those would be classified as Governmental Systems.

Oh, my, I hope that I haven't been rude to you! I guess I'm just conceited and opinionated! :D

By the way, ILove Pierce: If I was old enough, Bush would have my vote as well! :D Did you know that you can go to GeorgeWBush.com and make your own Bush flyer add and print it! :) I'm putting one in my family car! :D

    Oh man, you're way off!!

Alexander Hamilton is on the 5, the first secretary of state.

Washington is on the one, the first president.

Lincoln is on the 10, the one who started emancipation.

Andrew Jackson is on the 20, another president.

And the buildings? It varies from bill to bill, but the building on the back of the 5 is just the Lincoln Memorial.

If you're still interested, just go to Washington DC.

What do you folks make of the rumours about Pierce Brosnan being replaced/sacked as James Bond, supposedly because of his age?

I am not Brosnan's biggest fan, but I believe that it would be a travesty if he was replaced/ sacked just because of his age. No, there is more to these rumours than Brosnan's age. My instinct tells me that the suits at MGM are unhappy at the current three year gap between the Bond films and that they would like to return to the more traditional two year gap even if it means replacing Brosnan with another actor. Logic tells the suits at MGM that more Bond films in a shorter time span means more money at the box office, rentals, DVD's etc.

If Brosnan agreed to stay on and make two more Bond films in a two year period before retiring this would be a potential financial bonanza for MGM. If Brosnan was sacked/replaced MGM would hope that by making a Bond film every two years instead of three that this would compensate for a potential drop off in box office takings. Another financial consideration is that Brosnan's replacement would very likely be paid significantly less money. I believe that Brosnan was paid around $16 million dollars for DAD and would most likely be paid around $20 million dollars for Bond 21.

Another factor in these rumours is that certain unknown elements have been unhappy about the direction and quality of Brosnan's films. If there is a real problem with the direction and quality of Brosnan's films then what makes anyone think that by replacing/sacking him that all the problems will be solved? What about Michael G Wilson, Barbara Broccoli, Purvis and Wade to mention a few? They are far more responsible for the direction and quality of Brosnan's films than he himself is.

According to CBn's sources at EON Pierce Brosnan will not return as James Bond. It's a done deal as far as they are concerned. I'll only believe it when I hear or see it from Brosnan himself, and NOT before. I still expect him to star in Bond 21 (and likely Bond 22) before he retires from the role.

I can only reiterate what I have already said in the Brosnan Sacked topic. Already in my opinion Brosnan has been treated shabbily by MGM/Eon due to their continued, and inappropriate, silence. They owe it to the actor who has contributed a huge amount to the franchise to either confirm or deny it. MGM and Eon have been quick enough to deny the plot/title/Britney rumours in the past, which begs the question why they haven't done so when there is a rather loud, at least among the Bond internet community, whispering campaign about their star? Perhaps this suggests that their silence speaks volumes, though I'm not so sure.

Like I say, I remain sceptical and doubtful with regards to all of this, despite MKKBB and Cbn claiming to have been given independent confirmation. These confirmations are worrying, as it seems unlikely that they would issue such strongly worded editorials without a reliable and credible source. In addition, they know that if they are proven wrong they will have some pretty red faces, so it seems logical they would check it out. Cbn's editorial in particular is pretty definite, reserving the kind of words journalists use for the fallen careers of important politicians. That said, I don't know how much one can read into this, websites as with the media seek to break the story first, so in this sense it encourages me to remain sceptical. Cbn has already received some publicity as a result of this 'confirmation' as several internet entertainment sites are reporting their story.

If this is true, which I restate I still doubt, I do not believe the end justifies the means. If this is the way MGM/Eon consider it appropriate to sack their Bond I will be highly critical of it. However, I do welcome a new Bond. Some members of fellow Bond forums are discussing this firstly, as if it is true, and secondly as if it spells the end of the Bond franchise. It does not. Personally, if it is true I hope it will pave the way for the artistic revival of the series after the, on the whole, disappointing Die Another Day, which included a, on re-viewing, relatively lesser performance by Brosnan. In my opinion this would be best achieved if Clive Owen were the next Bond, he would be darker, more menacing and a bit edgier. Hopefully the producers and director would create a suitably darker movie around his portrayal. Jackman I'm not so sure of, but I have no reason to actively argue against him as Bond. Indeed, the add-on rumour suggests he may be the next Bond rather than Owen.

Overall, all this negative talk, reportedly from sources within Eon, about Brosnan’s age is pretty dreadful and this is not a credible reason to sack the Bond actor. Brosnan has, over the course of his tenure, been a great Bond, notably in GoldenEye and The World Is Not Enough. In Die Another Day though he seemed a bit melodramatic at times, however he was let down by an inferior script which was out of his control.

From a financial point of view I don’t know the effect a change would have on the success of the next film, it is wrong as some are doing to argue this spells doom for the next one. The financial success of the next film will depend on a wide range of factors, of which the actor is just one. Also financially speaking, perhaps MGM/Eon are unwilling to shell out $20 million for Brosnan next time, which might be where this rumour all started (though I personally doubt this).

Basically, this is not the way to get rid of a Bond actor, again if there is any truth in, what remain, rumours. I agree with MNL that I wont believe it until it is confirmed from the horse’s mouth. However, I still remain disapproving at MGM/Eon’s silence, and feel sorry for Brosnan.

Yowee! I think I should've taken a power nap half way through reading those 2 posts guys!

I wholeheartadly agree! I think it is unlikely that these rumors are true as they have taken a very unprofessional tone, if you catch my drift! The things that people are saying MGM are doing sound very unprofessional, and MGM is professional!

I am also going to take them with a pinch of salt, and maybe a plate of chips as well! Until it is announced by the man himself and plastered over every news form we know of as it would be were it confirmed properly by MGM or Brosnan themselfs!

MGM/EON's silence could be because they don't wan't to make any comment regarding Pierce Brosnan's sacking/replacement until they have his successor signed, sealed and delivered.

If Brosnan has not been sacked/replaced there is no reason that I can think of to prevent MGM/EON from denying the rumours. If this is the case then I do agree that Brosnan has been treated shabbily.

I do not believe that the end justifies the means either. Why take such a risk and sack/replace a very popular actor who has made a major contribution to the revival and continued success of the Bond series. We could debate about the direction and quality of Brosnan's Bond films and his acting, but the fact is his four Bond films have made approx $1.5 billion dollars at the box office.
Lazenby880:Personally, if it is true I hope it will pave the way for the artistic revival of the series after the, on the whole, disappointing Die Another Day, which included a, on re-viewing, relatively lesser performance by Brosnan.

I would like to believe that there will be an artistic revival of the series in Bond 21 with Pierce Brosnan. It's the second half of DAD that I find particularly disappointing whereas the first half is quite entertaining. Likewise with Brosnan's performance. I think that he's overwhelmed by the CGI, the action scenes etc in the second half of DAD and his performance suffers, he looks a bit dis-interested at times. In the first half when there is time for some real acting he gives a good performance.

Excellent idea, Tirpitz! Well, I don't have that many PC games, but my favorite is Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit 2. I love the cars and scenery! A very nicely done game, in my opinion.

I also like NASCAR Racing 2003 Season, although it's very hard: I had to play it on easy level for two-three weeks before I could actually finish a race without destroying my car and ending up with last place. :)) That race was also my first win on that game, as well, so I'm happy! :D

By the way, why don't you want anyone posting about Nightfire, Tirpitz?

Racing fan are you, Fox? Well, I played some of the NFS games some time ago. I didn't want to put Nightfire because it might become a Bond games topic and the mods would close it. I loved the original Hot Pursuit, and I'm sure 2 must be fantastic.

Oh, it is! I also have played the original Hot Pursuit. I thought it was one of the best racing games ever. I especially liked the fantasy tracks. I liked them much more than the new, realistic ones, although the new ones are good as well! You should go to Need For Speed.com and download the demo to try it! If you decide to buy it, you won't be dissapointed--especially since HP:2 for PC is only. . . .$20.00 now? For that price it comes in a pack of the second through the sixth game (HP:2)! Just make sure that your computer is compatible, all the older NFS games don't work with Windows XP. Believe me, I tried it. ;) If that's the case, I think you can get simply the HP:2 for about $10.00 to $15.00. I highly recommend it!

I do enjoy star wars games yes, the only one I own is JK2 but I love it! And my brother downloaded a program called JK2 Radiant which allows one to create levels for JK2! It's proper Bo I tell thee!

I have also played on Rouge Squadron (sorry bout the spelling) which was great and Star Wars Wrestling which was, surreal! I can't think of any others off hand but they're all good!!

(Sorry bout the poor spelling guys! I cna spell big words like, pneumonia, or psychedelic, or even antidisestablishmentarianism!! Its the little words that catch me out, like Rouge (spelling!?) and flautist!)

I am also a fan of the game Zelda - The Ocarina Of Time - classic, originally for the N64. Star Fox adventures for the game cube is also excellent. Ask for Star Wars games, I used to play on Shadows Of The Empire for the N64 alot. That was very enjoyable.
