I like quite a few stand up comedians. I like the Australian comedian and The Last Leg host Adam Hills. I like that he interacts with the audience without taking the piss out of them.

For radio comedy, I'd highly recommend " Bleak expectations " from
BBC radio 4, ( now on series 5, which isn't the best, to be honest)
It's set in the times of Charles Dickens, but with modern sensibilities. :))
They tried a TV version but it was total rubbish, as they changed the cast.
With the radio, you use your imagination. -{ ( maybe, mines a bit warped ) :D

There was a bloke who used to take to the stage wearing a big paper mache head. I forget his name but he was one of the original off the wall comedians.

You may be thinking of Frank Sidebottom - although I wouldn't honestly call him a comedian, not in the traditional sense anyway...

That's the fella! I only saw him a couple of time years ago.

    Nothing traditional about him!

    And sadly now dead....

    I recognise all of the above - it's my age I guess :# :D

    I still think 'Early Doors' is one of the finest (often overlooked) comedies -{

I am into vintage British comedy & have many box sets. I wonder how many of these you all recognise:

Citizen Smith, Tony Hancock, Nearest & Dearest, Porridge, Steptoe & Son, Dads Army, Rising Damp, Some Mother Do Av 'Em. (I can't think of any more off hand but my collection contains much more).

Modern box sets include Peter Kay/Pheonix Nights/ Max & Paddy. Alan Partridge, Bottom, The Office/Extras, Blackadder etc.

you're missing Jeeves and Wooster in that set.

I guess it's similar to a car registration? Here in California we pay a yearly fee to the Department of Motor Vehicles. Upon payment they send you a nifty little sticker that you put on your license plate. Money is supposed to go to road maintenance as such. Does it work the same for your tax disc?

Yes same idea, but according to a few statistics only about one third
Of money collect actually goes to the upkeep of roads etc ! :# the new
System you still pay but you get nothing to show, they're depending on
Computer records, and we know they never make any mistakes ! :))
