Just caught up on The Top Gear Xmas special thing.
One of their better ones I thought and the incident in Argentina looked genuinely scary but what on earth possessed them to go there in the first place ?? They said at the beginning that the part they were going to would be particularly hostile to Brits ...
Also made me laugh that Chile has similar issues to us with Argentina in terms of possession of islands. Argentina needs to learn to share )

I enjoyed the Top Gear specials too - but then I always do
I think they anticipated some hostility and knew it would make good TV...but perhaps not as much as they got )
Apart from the last place the Top Gear team visited, they said
They'd been welcomed everywhere and the people were very
Friendly.
One of the amazing things I thought in the programme was the
Stunning scenery in S.America.
"I've been informed that there ARE a couple of QAnon supporters who are fairly regular posters in AJB."
I'm a big fan of the show and love the specials they do, as they go
Deep inland in many of the countries away from the tourist places.
I also thought the Lotus was fantastic, going where a 4x4 would
Have had problems.
"I've been informed that there ARE a couple of QAnon supporters who are fairly regular posters in AJB."
The only thing about Top Gear, which I don't believe is all
Those repairs they make " Themselves" , I do think there
Are a team of mechanics in a following car.
"I've been informed that there ARE a couple of QAnon supporters who are fairly regular posters in AJB."
Watching it again, Clarkson makes a silly mistake . on saying
The landscape looks like something from Jurassic Park. He adds
He would be surprised to see a Brontosaurus !
Apparently it never existed, they mismatched the bones of a couple of
Dinosaurs ( good old QI again ) )

Don't get me wrong Stag, I don't watch Top Gear as a motoring programme
It's an entertainment show.
Telly is my favourite Blofeld, a big guy who looked like he could throw a punch,
And very menacing in his scenes -{

Lost a filling over Christmas, so went down today to get it fixed, so one side
Of my mouth is frozen. If I sat down, people would think I had had a stroke !
He funny thing is on the way home, went in to Lidl for a tin of rice to eat later
and noticed the bloke in front of me looked like a solicitor ( dressed like one).
Out side he got in to a Maserati !
Thought that was so funny, driving a Maserati but shops at Lidls ! )

It's funny, because my Mate visited Argentina a couple of Years ago and he received no Hostility whatsoever.
Ive been to BA and never had a problem however must admit things have changed in the last year or so politically.
As for Top Gear, the scenery was stunning but I agree the program is far too scripted nowadays, more so then ever!!!! The end was maybe a little misleading also, I believe it was only the film crew who drove thru the blockades and stonings etc Clarkson / Hammond actually flew out the country!!
As for the repairs, I guess we were supposed to believe Hammond did a spot of welding in the snow up in the Andes (sheared track rod if I remember rightly). I guess the film crew carry a boat load of spares for each car!!!!!
There has been a campaign to get them down here to do some proper off-roading, watching the Top Gear special I was surprised they went to Punta Arenas - they could have nipped across quickly from there!
Anyone remember the old Top Gear? William Woolard I think was the main presenter. personally I'd like to see a show in that vein, with actual reviews of cars which we, the masses, are likely to drive. Channel 5 had 'Fith Gear' but sadly that seemed to go the way of Top Gear.
I have a really distant memory of it actually reviewing cars seriously lol
I too remember the old Top Gear, but I really love the three lads and Stig. -{
I may also be one of the few who Like Jeremy Clarkson. {:) I think he's
Very funny.
As for Argentina, I did watch a documentary that pointed out any time their
Economy goes down the toilet ( not that it's ever that good) they always
Bring up the Falklands, to stir up a bit of Nationalism and get people to
Forget how badly run their country is.

Dalton - the weak and weepy Bond!

Discovered Paul McCartney ! )
