Put it all on expenses ! ;)

To be honest Number24, it may simply be that in Norway, you have better
Politicians. -{ Some who actually want to do something for their country
And the people who live there.
Sadly over the years after so many press reports of double dealings, and
Expenses scandals, I'm just an old cynic. :D
If you have better politicians, four yourself lucky. :D
That cheap booze you mention is suibsidised by us tax payers. :# and the
House of lords complains that they want their own restaurant as the Commons
    One serves " inferior " champagnes ! :))
Yep !, sounds like they're in touch with the ordinary man in the street. :))

Our system and our politicians are not perfect, but perhaps. In Norway many politicians earn less than they would in the private sector. They mostly live in normal houses, have normal cars and normal friends. It's not unusal to stand in the same que at the COOP with ministers in the government and prime ministers didn't have bodyguads until a few years ago. In other words; politicians meet ordinary people every day.

    That might be the reason, your politicians can stay in touch with people. -{
I think a good Idea for over here would be that to be a Politician ( MP) you
Would have to have had a job outside politics for a few years first. :D you
Couldn't just leave university and go in to politics.

That used to be true, but now some are career politicians.
  • ThunderpussyThunderpussy Behind you !Posts: 63,792MI6 Agent
I really think that's one of the problems in the west, Career politicians.
It's almost like in the old days of the bible, when there was a political
Elite, who didn't even have to walk on the same streets as the ordinary
    People. :D
Career politicians live in their own little bubble, and have no idea about
Business or real life. Whereas at least if they had been Policemen, bakers,
Trade unionists, etc they would know what it's like to have to deal with
Mortgage payments, unemployment or simple things like how much it costs
To fill the car with petrol ! :))

:)) On watching a news report of an up coming auction on old toys.
My Daughter said " I can't understand people paying money for old sh1t !" :))
    So I don't think she'll ever be a collector. :D

Btw, if it's the happy result of your recent relaxing holiday, perhaps you'd think of naming the baby Number25? :D

In the Siberian town of Dubinka the temperature suddenly dropped to -40 Celcius when night fell. The water pipes burst and the water flowed into the streets where it soon froze. The result was a bizarre sight with houses and cars frozen. It looks striking and could perhaps be Incorporated in a Bond movie some time?

    Odd dream last night.
Firstly I ended up back in an old job I hated. Then it changed to a screening
Of TSWLM, in a cinema, which them seemed to change to a church hall, did
Get to see a deleted scene. ;)
Moore, Bach and Kiel all in the lotus, in a basement but it could hover ! :D
Then I got into a fight with some guy in the same row as me. :))
