Poor old AOS is no doubt up to his neck in nappies ,bottles and lots of sleepless nights
don't worry mate (AOS) weve all been there ,done it got the tee shirt , I know if he can spare a few mins with us he will ,
A cautionary tale for all those looking forward to retirement.
The simple fact is my experience of it over the past five years is that I simply do not have any 'spare' time on my hands to actually relax & enjoy it. Indeed I think I am busier now than when I was working!
For example I bought Trigger Mortis last week, now I wanted to listen to GF on audiobook before I read it. I haven't got round the that yet as I am still listening to Casino Royale. I know for a fact that when I get to it I will only get time to read it in fits & starts, perhaps six or seven pages at a time a couple of times a week!
I have been working on an ebook for an absolute age, that project should have taken perhaps three months from start to finish but it has been going on for the best part of this year, all because my retirement has made me time poor!
I did however manage to see CR on DVD the other week & watch it all the way through without interruption!
I retired 2 years ago and also keeping myself busy. At the moment I am back in England tying up the sale of my house. When I get back to Mactan I will resume enjoying life doing nothing )
After 40 years of selling used books I'm getting some time to read some now

Artists never retire, Barbel, you will play forever! I took early retirement - I started selling used books as a living immediately after leaving school - I was fortunate enough to make a very decent living out of it so retired after 40 years at 56. Although I like to say I do nothing I do enjoy volunteer work in a shelter back in The Philippines helping those less fortunate, I also oversee the businesses that my wife runs and have a 5 year old son to keep tabs on - retirement doesn't mean stagnation

To be honest I can't see me ever stopping, even when I'm in my 90s, like

You can't beat working for yourself. I went for two jobs when I left school - one as a printer's apprentice earning a fiver a week (it was 1973 ) ) and one as a clerk earning sixty a month. I thought I'm not going to be a slave to make someone else money so I used a legacy I had from an aunt and advertised for books in the local press and after a month of buying up stock rented a stall at a local indoor market and that was the start of it all, I never looked back.
Just like Stag though, time seems to go so faster now I'm retired.

So, we took Mr. Master's Ferrari for a spin to the big city.
We lost track and came to a dead-end next to a Mc Donald's parking lot.
While turning the car, I observed some dodgy looking guy depositing something underneath a bush and covering it with a stone.
After we've been on track again, I called the police and met them up a bit away from the crime scene and told them what happened.
I took one of the policemen with me in my car and went to the McD parking lot. We've not been able to find the person there and searched the restaurant - also without success.
I then showed them the hiding place and they started digging. After aome minutes a black plastic tube was salvaged and could be identified as a

The problem with your job is, Barbel - that with that kind of music, the groupies are far beyond their second set of teeth
Oh wait, in certain situations this can be a good thing ) ) )

That said, I see myself that he hasn't posted here since early September...but I think he can be excused with a new baby on the go.

I didn't realise there were landmines in the UN headquarters. What chance is there for the world if they can't even keep landmines out of the UN?
