I see on the news that Norway is to take VW to court over the false emissions tests.
Good. It was a cynical and outrageously dishonest act. Whether it was an honest mistake (I'm afraid I don't believe that for an instant) or a corporate decision, VW is responsible and should pay. Who knows how many sales - and therefore how much money - they scored based on that false information.
I have no intention to defend VW but as things are, ALL manufacturers of Diesel cars cheated heavily with NoX emmissions.
For the moment, there is a story brewing that Opel/Vauxhall are having a software where the cleaning only works in a temperature window from 20-27degrees C.
Their line of defense for he moment is that this is just to protect engine components - but they confirm the existence and say that it's legal.
President of the 'Misty Eyes Club'.
Dalton - the weak and weepy Bond!
I remember when Canada either bought or considered buying (can't remember which) aircraft/helicopters for their air force which couldn't operate in cold weather. So that ruled out half of the year!
Good to hear, I hope things will only get better under President Trump.
The whole world will be such fun under president Trump, just a shame he's not still married to ivanna....ivanna Trump eh!
Ivanna trump but never do in front of the missus
Continuing the discussion in posts 11,304 - 11,308 I had the interview today and it went very well.
The job is in financial services (which would be a continuation of what I've been working in over the last 10 years), at a company which is located close to Flinders Street Station - one of the main train stations here in Melbourne.
I'm expecting a follow up interview some time next week.
And no, I didn't wear my avatar attire. ) I wore a purple-combination checkered shirt, black and purple diagonal striped tie, charcoal slacks and Rockport dress-shoes (comfortable shoes is the key to success). Today's weather in Melbourne was a warm 26 degrees, so I opted not to wear a suit jacket. Casual business attire seems to be the norm nowadays.
Good news - both about the preliminary interview & the decision not to wear the budgie smugglers! Keep us posted as to your progress & good luck.
Going off topic (and referring back to an earlier discussion) I've managed to secure a new job! Yes it's taken me quite a few months but I had to hop-to-it as my current position (Team Leader) was being made defunct in the coming weeks and I was going to be moved into a Data Analysis role. I mean no offense to any Data Analysts out there but I couldn't see myself doing that for the next 30 years.
So, next week I'm moving into a Claims Assessor role - dealing with TPD (Total and Permanent Disability) and IP (Income Protection), still within the Superannuation industry.
Continued employment - hooray!!! ) Seriously though, it means we get to keep the house so I'm happy.

Today was Mrs AS birthday, so as a treat I booked a table for afternoon tea at Amberley castle in West Sussex .We have stayed there before ,so I knew she likes the place . .The immaculate manicured lawns welcomed us ,as I drove up the gravelled drive ,theres nothing nicer than the sound of gravel under tyre . The dry moated turreted castle gates stood imposing over the glorious Sussex country side . This is England at its best .I parked my new toy up,and crunched my way up the drive in my C &J chukkas ,as if I owned the place .The tea was superb, afterwards we sat in one of the gardens ,being entertained by a lone albino peacock ,who strutted around as if he too owned the place .How nice to be in England .A possible Bond setting ,one could imagine James ,driving down the drive in an Aston ,on his way to another adventure

Bond drove through the elegant gates, revelling in the sound of his Longstone Turbospeed tyres on the gravelled drive. The immaculate manicured lawns welcomed him and the dry moated turreted castle gates stood imposing over the glorious Sussex countryside. This was England at its best, he thought, as he parked the Aston Martin and crunched his way up the drive in his C&J chuckas. A lone albino peacock strutted around as if he owned the place. Bond lit one of his Morland specials and waited.

I may just use that to re-name the Space Bar on my laptop.
They did make one mistake that I am sure many ichthyologists (fish experts) picked up on. That's not a pearlfish, it's a poofish, also known as a sea log.

Didn't know you lived near Loch Ness, AS. Bloody long way to commute from there to The Den!
) ) No I don't live any where near Loch ness ,but I wouldn't mind if I did ,we have enough monsters locally in our town as it is . My daughters friend said his dog is one of the poisoned pets ,and the poor thing is still in the vets .but the lake in question is Dartford lakes ,and not Danson park as I originally stated .But the snake story was true ,So all safe to go to the park ,"doggie tat tats "
