Quoting Jedi Master:
So how is everyone? I think it's time we had a roll call for everyone who posts on the thread don't you?! I would just like to know who we've got here! I don't know maybe then it would feel like others couldn't join in the chat!!
I rewatched The Matrix Rev. last night, and I suppose I can see why so many people are disapointed with it but I just (cue orchestra music and back up singers):
Can't help loving that film o' mine!
Well, Jedi, I don't know whether or not everyone wants to post their name up in a roll-call, but I'll do it! . . .

There . . . Now that that's out of the way, Matrix Revolutions was definitely a huge disappointment. Reloaded is by far the best of the trilogy--it had great action scenes (particularly the freeway one--did you know that they built their own freeway for that scene!? ), suspense, and an excellent story. The first Matrix comes in second, with all the same elements, but its action scenes just didn't have quite the same pizzazz as Reloaded.
But Revolutions . . . I'm not so sure. Sure, it was a good film, but it just didn't compare at all with the first two films. It didn't show enough of Neo, as it mostly focused on the battle for Zion--which was interesting, but we were all really watching it to see what happened with Neo when he went to destroy the Matrix. Having Neo's eyes get burned to uselessness was very disappointing, and it really messed with his outside-the-Matrix character. Trinity getting killed was probably inevitable, but still we would have liked to see them both get married or something later on--you know, the "happily-ever-after" kind of thing . . . I suppose that's not what this film was about, but it still would have been nice.
It does have its good points, however, as the Zion battle was good action, nonetheless. The final scene with Neo and Smith was pretty cool, with good effects and all, and it was an overall brilliant part of the story. Plus, Cypher being taken over somehow by Smith was another stroke of genius.
Overall, I still think that Matrix Revolutions is fun, but leaves a lot to be desired. I give it a 6.5/10; I gave the original Matrix 9/10, and Reloaded 9.5/10
About Rev. if you like facts about movies you'll love these little numbers:
The zion battle, the one that you didn't like! 17 minutes of action which cost more than most entire films do.
In the scene they used scale models for some of the interaction parts (the crane falling of the tower, the ship bursting through the gate.) the tallest of which was about 40 feet tall and the model of the Hemmer weighed an entire ton!
In the Neo-Smith scene, they hired 50 odd extras to play cloned Smiths, they were all 6'2'' but boy were they different! And they needed a line of Smiths with matching shoulder lines so they decided to make about 300 dummy smiths. Hugo Weaving had to have body and face casts taken which took hours! (imagine sitting with plastercine all over your face for a few hours, and you have to hold the expression!) There were three expressions, happy, neutral, angry! And each head could move left-right and tilt slightly, but as it did this the paint rubbed off and had to be resprayed!!
They had 2 rows of dummys and a row of extras controlling 2 dummies' heads each.
Hugo Weaving had to be given a wig to wear in that scene because his hair wasn't staying in place like the dummies' hair was!
That enough facts? I think its too many! Oh well!
Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice and everyone dies.
Way too many! How about we post movie reviews as a new topic? Things seemed to have died down a bit. And any movie can be reviewed, even the largest pile of crap there is.
Hey I was thinking that maybe I should be a film critic because I'm always very analitical and critical of films! I'll review Spidermad 2 to start us off:
Spiderman 2:
Although the cinema screwed up the projection to start off with and cut off the top and bottom of the picture, it was a fairly enjoyable film.
It not only had a rather large amount of enjoyable action (although disapointingly always between Spiderman and Octavious) but it was also fairly unconventional in places. Ok so the idea of the superhero being criticised and quitting has been done but what was supprising was revealing of the secret identity, a rare occasion in super hero films. A few interesting plot points but a slightly disapointing ending: Bride abandonning husband to start a new relationship with someone else (without giving too much away!).
Even though there were moments when I cringed, for example "a man called Octavious winds up with 8 limbs", or whilest he was ascending buildings the low thuds taken straigh out of Jurassic park and even the scene from the Matrix when Neo tries to jump building to building being reanacted by Peter Parker, even with those I can't say I didn't enjoy myself.
So overall Spiderman 2 is anything but perfect but still enjoyable.

I'll give this a try. The movie I will review was in limited release. I think it might of only been released in the U.S. It's a documentry called:
Some Kind Of Monster
SKOM is a look into the rock band Metallicas making of their album St. Anger. The film follows the members of the band through the making of the most recent album. It looks into the departure of a band member that was with the band for 14 years it even has a surprise apperance from another former band mate that I was shocked to see in the movie. That person is Dave Mustaine. In all SKOM is a great look into the making of a bands album. I highly recommend seeing this film if your a music fan, of course it might help if your a Metallica fan, but if your not go see it anyway. It's a good 2 hours 15 minutes of film to watch.
Some people would complain even if you hang them with a new rope
Wow that topic sure was a faliure! (Is that the correct spelling!?) Ok we need to get ourselves a new one. Think people!

So we need a new topic to discuss in the random chat. Well the new T.V. season starts soon. I don't know if the U.K. or other continets have some of the same shows, but this T.V. season looks kind of weak. Maybe C.S.I New York will fly but the rest look like it'll fall flat, plus being wrapped up in the show 24, I don't want to get involved in something new yet. What's T.V. show are you looking forward to this season, new or old.

I liked watching The Apprentice last year, so I figure Ill do the same this year. Does anyone know when Saturday Night Live will be airing live again. There are a few new comedies I may check out, but notthing too special.
I tell you what, I'm going to miss Friends, it'll be hard without that show! Still, wanting not to sound too much as though I'm glue to my television, I don't usually get obsessed with shows, I just channel flick until I find something that I can watch!
I am looking forward to Brainiac starting again on Thuursday though!!

Hey Jedi, is your country going to be showing the spinoff to Friends entitled Joey?
Some people would complain even if you hang them with a new rope
They aren't right here thought because you get a lot more new replies in this topic than in the funhouse and when I just looked the new replies topics were spilling over onto the next page, something I have never seen in any forum! Also why was the James Bond movie quote thread moved?! Oooooh well, I think they'll have their own forum sooner or later!
Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice and everyone dies.
Note: this is related to the earlier discussion about upcoming TV shows.
For Americans who are anglophiles and/or love the 60's, the BBC Friday Night lineup is brilliant. The Avengers, The Saint, and The Prisoner are played three times each on Friday in that order. I've become seriously hooked on the Prisoner, and it's great to finally see the Avengers on the small screen again.
Flattery will get you nowhere, but don't stop trying.
Tirpitz I need to apologise to you, I've always read your name (and probably written it) as Tripitz! It was only when a documentary was advertised on TV that I realised that its Tirpitz not Tripitz. It was called sink the Tirpitz!
Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice and everyone dies.
Ah, yes I saw that too. I'll never argue with you about the AOTC and the PM if you give me the exact way the Tirpitz was sunk and how many times the British tried to sink it. Guess you got some work to do!

Car blasts by, nearly killing Joey-
"Go back to New York you jerk!"
ROFL!!
Hehe, Cypher is long dead by Revolutions, Fox
Overall, very good. Much better than I had expected, put it that way. I will post a more thorough review sometime later.
I didn't realise it was out in the UK yet. When did it come out? I'll have to go see this!
1 - Moore, 2 - Dalton, 3 - Craig, 4 - Connery, 5 - Brosnan, 6 - Lazenby

How was the Tirpitz sunk? And so on!?
