Thankfully you hadn't noticed that I said we had 88 posts left until 1500 when in fact there are now (incl. this one) merely 15! I edited my post now though.
Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice and everyone dies.
So what are we supposed to talk about after we reach 1500? Is everything there is to say been said?
Well, we kicked Star Wars around...has anybody heard any news about another Indiana Jones movie? I'm wondering if it's even feasible, but there seems to be some serious discussion about moving ahead with one.
Worry not, darehat, there is always something to talk about on AJB.

Last I heard Indy was scheduled for release in '06. Filming is supposed to begin at the end of summer '05. So I've heard.

All the rumours that were circulating said that Harrison Ford would return, but it was tough getting the Indy trifecta "Spielberg, Lucas, and Ford" all on the same page. Without Ford, the whole thing would be pointless. They can't hide the fact that he's MUCH older, so I think they have tried to create an Indiana Jones world that takes place in the early 1950's which was used in an episode of Young Indiana Jones, as well as the LucasArts game "Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine".

Don't forget Williams, he is an important part of the Indiana Jones films! After all who else could possibly have come up with such an inspiring and suiting theme tune? What a brilliant composer!

John Williams is the best film composer, IMO, and it's not because he creates memorable themes, but because he has an incredible range. His music is chromatic and polished, and the music complements the film, but has an incredible capability to also stand on its own as a concert piece. Very few composers have ever been able to achieve that.
I really didn't include Williams in the group because scoring the music is a post-production job. If you can get the first three individuals' schedules to work and make the film, Williams would definitely score it, becuase either Williams will drop whatever he's doing and make it happen (I seem to recall seeing an interview where he mentioned he would love to revisit the music for Indiana Jones) or Spielberg will wait as long as necessary to have Williams available to do it. With the exception of The Color Purple, Spielberg hasn't relied on anyone other than Williams.

In a interview done months back with Harrison on Jay Leno I beleive he was asked if there would be another Indy movie. He said yeah and time was set aside at the end of summer '05. I also heard another report (I hope I wasn't dreaming) that Connery was signed to come back as Indys father. Time will tell. Let's hope it happens.

I never really considered Indiana Jones a "trilogy". It's not one single story told in three parts. It just happened to be that they agreed to do three films in the beginning, which is common in the movie industry. You could have stopped at two films or make eight, each one standing on it's own as an individual story. Besides, if you want them to not make anymore because they'll "screw them up"...well IMO it's too late for that.

I had read a rumour somewhere a while back that they were trying to get Tom Selleck to play Indiana Jones' brother.
Nice concept, I guess, but probably a bit much...although I do think he looks more like a candidate as Connery's son than Ford does.
I have heard a similar rumour involving a brother for Indy but Kevin Costner was in the frame not Selleck ( wasn't he the original choice for IJ before Ford took it?)...anyway,I think Costner would be quite good as a younger brother as they are similar facially.
I also agree about IJ as stand alone films. It is a series that could have truly rivalled JB.
I hadn't heard the Kevin Costner thing. I like Costner, but I have a hard time picturing him in an Indiana Jones movie...he always struck me as somewhat milquetoast. Personally, I don't think there's room for a celebrity brother alongside Ford and Connery. Last Crusade was getting a bit crowded with both Sallah and Marcus along for the ride. If they want to make a good film that at least aspires to the excellence of Raiders they'll have to get back to basics and not cram to many ideas in it.
Well I had a sudden kick up the bum earlier reminding me how out of touch I actually am with the Bonding community (take that how you will!).
What I mean is I just found out the other day tha PB is resigning, how come we haven't all been talking about it!? And what does everyone think about this revalation?!
Ps I don't really want conversations in here about who will replace him, we have the Bond21 forum for that! I just want to hear what you all think abou the whole thing!
Oh and a side note, thats the 1500th post! YAY

I never heard PB had re-signed. Could you put up a link to the story please.

I told you this could have truly been a series to match Bond ,in more ways than one. )

Aaah yes well it was a conversation I had on msn messenger so that would be a little tricky, especially since I don't keep chat logs, waste of time if you ask me, keeping huge folders of all the horrible things you've ever said or been told on the internet!

It is a shame to hear confirmation of Pierce Brosnan's resignation - I was rather fond of his portrayal of 007, and he had some good outings - and I do think that they could have released at least one more film before calling it a day with Brosnan. It was a bit poorly handled I feel.
Sir Donald, nice to see you around here again. I've been reading the news about Peirce's resignation and am disappointed as well. Well, I hope it's just a negotiation ploy, and that Peirce isn't really gone for good.
oh a PB hater eh?! Don't worry whatever your views are they are welcome! That is as long as you put them across in a respectful and polite manner. You know that anyway, so I'll just change the subject conveniently.
Nice to see you back Sir Donald

Not really, but his tenure as Bond seems to be the primarly reason I'm here and not on the hundreds of Hungarian Bond-related sites... Let's just say that though I'm young, I wasn't enchanced by the Brosnan Bonds to enter this alternate universe. It took a long and careful Connery and Moore treatment to turn my eye towards the newer installments.
Fun Fact: 83% of Hungarians population (from that 15% percent who have heard about Bond at all) thinks that the Taylor of Panama is one of the Bond movies... No further comments. Thank you for listening me.
Bit of a shame about Brosnan - he is my second favourite Bond to Roger Moore, so sad to see him go. He had some great films - including my very favourite, GoldenEye. Very well done, Mr. Brosnan. Let us hope that your successor is as brilliant as you were. *Bows*
The mods might not want all the extra threads Emilio. Maybe you should have just made one and put all the discussion in that one instead. But anyway, my favorite character from Tolkiens works is Boromir.

1 - Moore, 2 - Dalton, 3 - Craig, 4 - Connery, 5 - Brosnan, 6 - Lazenby

This doesn't include those who have heard the name, but confuses Bond with Indiana Jones or Superman.
