Shopping in Jermyn Street tomorrow and a visit to the Bond In Motion exhibition at the London Film Museum
Sounds great with 2 teenagers we passed on Rules last month but I got to CJ mason and sons Bond in motion and MI6 ( that close to the Tate )
For anyone in, or going to London I highly recommend going to The Bond In Motion exhibition at the London Film Museum. We went yesterday and it was truly fabulous. My 6 year old son was asking all about what each vehicle was involved in for the films that he hasn't seen yet and it has whetted his appetite to see them all now
Under strict orders from Mrs CHB to smarten myself up (I've mostly lived in jeans and t-shirts all my life ) ) I donned my Richard James bespoke suit that I had bought on last year's trip and ventured into Jermyn Street. First stop was my annual top up at TOBS (Taylor of Old Bond Street) for grooming products. This was followed by a haircut and shave at Trumpers. Then trips to Church's, Crockett & Jones, TM Lewin, Turnbull & Asser, Thomas Pink and another annual trip to Paxton & Whitfield to order my Christmas cheese parcel. Lunch at The Gallery at Fortnum & Mason completed the day. Mrs CHB is very happy at her "new look" husband
I'm enjoying my "Bond" trip to London with more locations to follow
Yeah, well, sometimes nothin' can be a real cool hand.
Since there is next to no Bond25 news I'll mention some mi:6 news instead. There may be spoilers.
Tom Cruise injured himself during a roof to roof chase recently. There will be a chase in Paris, perhaps a motorcycle chase he is working on. They have "rented" cliff known as Preikestolen/The Pulpit near Stavanger in Norway for nine days in September. The big stunt Cruise has been training to do for two years is a parachute jump from out er space to earth.
I wish there were nuggets line that for Bond
I am discovering a whole new universe of films these days. The HAMMER Film Noir and Horrer era.
Lots of them have Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee starring. One of them or both. It is like delving into an alternate reality of the cinematic 50s, 60s and 70s. Very fascinating.
Concerning Bond I have lost interest in the current era. Four years after SP with a 51 year old Craig. That's not for me I'm afraid.
Just glad we got the first 20 classics plus SPECTRE who has brought back what worked so well in the past.
I am talking present not past. Every good leader should know when to step down. In the US that is not a problem fortunately due to the system. With EON that's another matter.
Be careful what you wish for.
If Eon would be stopping making Bond, I am pretty sure that your crocodile tears would be more than Dalton's in all his movies
President of the 'Misty Eyes Club'.
Dalton - the weak and weepy Bond!
It would be strange if a company didn't make mistakes in more than 50 years, but their track record is good. SPECTRE was a good, but flawed movie in my opinion. We can disagree on taste until the cows come home, we sometimes like different things and that's fine. What is clear is that SPECTRE was a comercial success and the reviews were mixed, but far from disastrous. I can see why some would want EON to drop Bond after DAD, but not after SPECTRE.
I LOVE SPECTRE. In fact it has but saved this era for me more or less.
But I look at the whole picture. Since 2005 questionable decisions have been made GALORE by BB and MGW, although I believe it's mostly BB who calls the shots.
There is too much tunnel vision now imho. I am not afraid of a new production company.

Among my favourite films- love them all!
oh cool! I have bought some that have come out in restored HD version on Blu-ray Special Editions with extensive Booklets (released on the German language market). Others I purchased digitally on iTunes in HD.
-The Hound Of The Baskervilles
-Dracula
-The Gorgon
-Taste Of Fear
those I have watched so far and love them all, simply fantastic!
I got Special Editions for "Horror Express" and "Dr. Terror's House Of Horrors" too, both with Cushing and Lee, as I have started to collect their collaborations outside Hammer as well.
I love both of them, totally.
Great times ahead for me, I have ordered 16 more Hammer films on Blu-ray!!

My mistake. Why I read SF and thought SPECTRE is now the topic of a an article in International Shrink Weekly )
I think SF is better than SPECTRE. ) In my opinion CR is Craig's best, followed by SF, SPECTRE and QoS in that order.

For me it's:
SPECTRE by far.
CASINO ROYALE
QUANTUM OF SOLACE
SKYFALL
of which QOS and SF are in my bottom three of my ranking.
I think CR is brilliant and a modern classic. SF and SPECTRE are both good, but with flaws. QoS stands out as the weak one: It has soem qualities, but the horrible editing and some other factors make it the weak link.
If Sony had opted for HD DVD I would have them even in that format too as I have a HD DVD player plus some 50 films in that format.
By the way HD DVD was technically and quality wise worlds better than Blu-ray. Sony has won the format war once Warner left HD DVD. Why is beyond me honestly but the rumour is than Sony payed a grotesque amount of money to Warner to end the format war to their advantage.

You think it's depressing that they handle Bond? ?:) ?:) ?:) ?:)

Talk about excessive collecting )
Record holder is TND which I own 10 times....
LaserDisc 1x
DVD 4x
Blu-ray 4x
Digitally 1x
Of course in various different releases for DVD and Blu-ray.
Well, I even have the TND Betamax. Ergo, I win.

Yes, I use them for door stoppers... )
Jason, I'd love to continue discussing the Hammer movies with you- could I refer you to https://www.ajb007.co.uk/topic/44426/your-favourites-from-hammer-films/ where I've posted a reply to you.
