On to more masculine activities: My old..... Christmas tree stand... holder.... foot?????...... was broken, so tonight my father and I made a new one. It's more practical and ryggen than ornate.

Stand. No pics ? we have seen Lady Vespers Bush, lets see your tree
I don't have the technology, or rather the skill.
It's a medium sized tree from nearby. I'll decorate it tomorrow, but I can tell you there won't be much glitter, much of the decorations are old and some of it is home made
I always prefered a real tree, I used to get a Scots pine with little pine cones on it, but for the last 3 years we've had an artificial tree, I do burn a " perfect tree Yankee candle " to complete the effect though
Oh and a Christmas elf!
As for decorations we have some hand made glass ones and others which have been collected from far and wide and one of these each with the kids names

Where I live most people use real trees. My house is surrounded by Christmas tree farms. They are completely bizarre because all of the furs are in perfect rows and each tree is trimmed. The population booms about August when they start to spray the trees. Generally, in late October farms start cutting them and the air smells like Christmas trees. Workers push the trees in this doughnut shaped contraption that ties up the trees. It is really quite fascinating to watch. Untill about 11:00 at night people load up trucks with trees then they are back at it at 6:00 am. Here is a farm close to me:

Nice Bush Chris, did you trim it yourself
I like a well trimmed bush
But we let the kids do it then rearranged when they went to bed!
I woke up this...... let's call it morning. Everything was coveret with prestine snow -{
I didn't watch the weather forecast last night, so I didn't expect snow this week based on earlier forecast. Nice...

I have always used a real tree cut from the land belonging to the farm. I use electrical light, though.
Do many of you use real candles?
Looks like a nice place -{
