I like to listen to the BBC World Service on "the wireless". Today I heard a report and I was frankly very surprised it was news: Norway has a bottle return service! Seriously, isn't this something every developed country has had for decades? Here the return rate is 98%, and aparently this is near utopian in many countries. Why?
Where I live recently opened up "mini dumps" (convenience centers) to encourage people to recycle/ properly throw out trash and not go about it the true Appalachian way of dumping trash down banks. Many of my trees are grown around glass soda bottles and random pieces of farm equipment. It looks rather post-apocalyptic. On the plus side I can hook any of you up with old shingles, beer cans and cinder blocks.

Having a plastic bottle return system is a win-win situation. In 2040 there will be more plastic than fish in the oscean. Tiny pieces of plastic will enter the food chain. The public gets money from returning the bottles and they usually spend the money in the shops where the bottel return machines are. You can even press a button to donate the money to charity.
I posted earlier about Cape Town and their water crisis. The city expect to run completely out of water this spring. Today I saw an article by the BBC listing the most likely cities to experience severe water problems in the future. Beijing, Moscow, Cairo and Mexico City were on the list. It's also worth noticing that London was number 9 and Miami number 11. London is predicted to run out of water by 2040, in spite of all the rain.
I don't know who is a moderator around here so I'll just pop it into this thread:
I like writing reviews apparently, have done so on numerous things like The Avengers, Hammer films or Bond for instance.
I have done research to find all the review threads for Bond films created in the past on AJB007.
This is the result: TWINE, DAD, CR, QOS, SP don't have their own review thread, there are the pros and cons threads though. Couldn't find a review or a pros and cons thread for SF at all.
Well, I've watched TWINE and I had a blast with it. Such good entertainment. I'd like to write a review but feel it doesn't belong into the pros and cons thread really.
Would it be ok if I opened a thread for it "The World Is Not Enough Movie Review" and I would do the same for Die Another Day.
