The man was born in 1919, remember?
Joachim Rønneberg was just interviewed on TV. For the first time he wasn't present in Vemork during these events due to his advanced age. He is still frequently contacted by national and international media. When asked if he grows tried of all the attention and questions Rønneberg replied: "I can't allowed myself to tire. I have a duty. People can't forget what happened in this country, because we can't let it happen again."
Brave men indeed. But did you know the saboteurs puked of nervousness before they entered the guarded factors? Bravery isn't being a daredevil with no fear. The SOE agents knew they were likely to die, they had to be stupid not to. They were scared, but they did the right thing anyway. That's bravery.
I also remember Rønneberg saying that the night of the sabotage was so intense the memories are burnt into his mind. Even 75 years later that night is vivid and clear in his mind, even to the point of remembering individual stones.
Here I was, thinking my old boot camp from my national service was closed after the fall of the USSR.
It's not. Instead it's turned into a listening station for Military Intelligence. Apparently they read Facebook, E-mails etc. of ordinary citizens to find terrorists. I liked it better when the place was used for teaching schoolboys to march, shine their boots and fire battle rifles....

Indeed, and the world has a lot to thank them for. The thought of Hitler with a nuclear weapon is too scary to contemplate.

For a perfect movie you need .....
Dame Judi, a couple of car chases and some soft rock music
wearing his trousers like an old man. The waist band almost at his
chest
At his age I'll let it slide but Roger never made such compromises.
I never knew he was either of those!
Hollywood has lied to us...... again
