I just heard Norway is the 11th largest arms exporter in the world. I'm so proud - finally something to do when the oil runs out! :#

Are they Bear arms ? As I think there's a big market for those in the USA ;)

Why can't we export things like LEGO , IKEA and music like our neighbours do? Sometimes it feels like fish is the only major export we have that doesn't destroy the world.

Thankfully they usually get it the right way round and nobody thinks they have the right to arm bears!

It would be really funny if a hunter came across a
Grizzly with an AK47, shooting back ;)

As usual we manage to separate what's the essence of a thread from what's not really the topic, then we focus on the latter :))

What does an African like you think of the weather?
Is it too hot, just right or a bit chilly? :D

Hello Number24. My country is not hot all the time there are different weather seasons just like Europe. It also rains and thunder storms but much more than in England with these storms. The lightning is very spectacular always. The heatwave in England is never too hot for me but the winter is sometimes too cold! As the last winter storms from Russia! I did not walk without shoes then!

    :)) :)) :))
Over at MI6 ( the MI stands for Mission Impossible now ;) ) in a
Private message to another defender of Bond. I said I fully expect
A mention of John Wick soon, as a fighting style for 007. Only a couple of " How much better than Bond is MI " posts later. To see
Keanu Reeves mentioned as an idea as an opponent for Mr Hunt :))

Oh for goodness sake! Keanu comes across as a thoroughly good egg, but he's the type of actor who either works perfectly in a film or is a total disaster. His range is so narrow that a film has to be constructed around him. The first John Wick film was fun (the second one not so much, for me), but comparing the character to Bond is the height of absurdity.

From the Norwegian premiere of MI: Fallout.

In the background you can see The Pulpit, where a key scene in the movie was shot.

We do have quite a lot of health and safety regulations, but we take it for granted that people use their brains when hiking i the mountains. I've heard of warning signs near the Grand Canyon - we don't do that here.

Hi gang , it's been far too hot to sit indoors and chat on line , been sitting in the garden drinking a selection of europes finest , so apologise if I've neglected my AJB duties . But now the heat is dying down back on line have we discussed the sad and terrible shooting of a polar bear by a tourist cruise ship ? , I'm not apportioning blame to any nation here because we are all guilty , I'm just wondering what the poster said on board ship ? Limited spaces available , this is your last chance to see these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat .and if it gets to close we will blow it's brains out X-( X-( X-(
By the way, did I tell you, I was "Mad"?

She looks lovely, Vesper, I'm sure the two of you will get along fine and have many good times. By coincidence or karma, the dog of one of our long term members passed away yesterday. One door closes, one door opens....

I visited the 100 feet viking ship that's being built.. I don't know the words in English to discuss it in detail, but the main hull is finished. The floor, the dragon head in front, the oars, the benches for the rowers, the mast and the steering oar etc. is still not finished. I look forward to next summer when the ship is seaworthy. It's very large and stunningly beautiful :D

I am not sure if this is accurate, but I imagine you spend a good deal of time around Viking ships, eating waffles while wearing bulky sweaters.

We can do that, sure. :)
An elderly American man who travels the world to see wooden ships saw the Myklebustskip earlier this year. He hugged the side of the ship's side and was on the verge of tears. It was the most beautiful ship he had seen yet. The lines are so elegant.

Had a feeling it may have been that video before I clicked on it—watched it a week or so ago and I’m still shocked :)) I have no idea how some people could be that stupid! Thinking Alaska (one of their own states) was Greenland and that Russia (the big one) was America...just wow!

A customer came into the library I was working in yesterday wearing a Universal Exports T-Shirt, so I started a James Bond conversation with him. Much to the confusion of me colleague who had no idea how we got onto that subject.

At the same time I was processing some book reservations and the very next item to come out of the box was an audiobook of Colonel Sun. My customer told me he's done his university dissertation on the works of Kingsley Amis but had never read his Bond work. I heartily recommended The James Bond Dossier and The Book of Bond.

Nice to have an in-depth Bond conversation in real-life for once.

(EDIT: Blimey! I've just seen what price my first edition of The James Bond Dossier may be worth. I've had it for so long it never occurred to me it might be valuable)

It doesn't mention the man's footwear, though.
