I was thinking someone (me?) should knock up a poll on who should be the next Bond actor after NTTD was finished running in the cinemas. But nowow that we have seven months where next to nothing will happen on the Bond front, perhaps now is the time? The we have on the topic is outdated with several actors who are around fifty years old. What do you think?

Can I ask TP why all those scentists who according to him don't think there's a largely human made climate change going on don't gang up and write a report together or at least sign a petition? About 3000 scientists in the field (if I remember correctly) did get together for the UN and delivered a report that made it very clear that human activity is changing the climate on Earth. The nay-sayers should be able to get one or two thousand together for a second opinion?

I think you should try to find that alleged report. There could be one, but I doubt many scientists were involved and I wouldn't be surprised if there are good scientific reasons why it didn't get much coverage.
Has the scientific community really said we only have ten years left to stop the worst effects of climate change since the 60's? I find that unlikely, especially since the theory that human CO2 output changes the climate wasn't very wid espread back then. There is also the fact that the climate didn't start changing a lot until the last 15-20 years (I'm talking about in modern times) , so the scientists didn't have a lot of material to study back in the day to make clear conclusions.
The example about the glaciers in the forrest park reminds me off all the stories about the old uncle who smoked for eighty years or so and was still fit. Single examples don't prove much and we all now know smoking is harmfull, no matter how fit the uncle is.
The glacier closest to where I live is gone, but that too doesn't prove much. I bet no scientist ever said those particular glaciers would remain or og, but they did say many would decrease in size or vanish and they have.
We can't be 100% sure exactly how and how fast climate change will happen, but the real discussion in hte Scientific community isn't on if it will happen, but how. I'm not sure about climate change is real because I'm passionate about it, I'm sure because the data and the science tells us. Scientists can't publish a paper and conclude that this will happen because they are passionate, thay have to present the data and the work.

What they do say is we got until that time to lower CO2 emision to keep the average temperature from going up more than 2 degrees celsius. I really urge you to try find that allegedscientific report you mentioned that was signed by so many scientists who don't accept human made climate change. I especially uge you to read up on the conclusions of the UN report on climate change and the many, many other scientific reports that say climate change is happening and it's a danger. Until you do so I agree there is no point in us discussing this further.

There is much to be said for some of the cheaper brands. You can wear them and not be afraid of damaging or losing them.
I know Casio is a good brand. I had a Lorus digital watch for some years. I wore it through my army service and it was put through much very rough use. It always kept perfect time. It was worn in water and in very hot and dusty conditions and only needed to have one new battery once in that time. I think it was waterproof to 50 metres - but I never tested it that way. When the rubber strap finally broke after perhaps eight years I threw it away. I really should have a new strap fitted.
The watch I wear today is a limit. I have had this for about five years. It keeps very good time also and never needs to be adjusted. It has had only one battery.
I'd like to remind everyone of the new poll about who we want as the next James Bond. I've removed the names of eight actors who's aged out. I've also added about a dozen new names. We won't get a new Bond movie in seven months, so why not find out what we want beyond that?
