That's very cool, N24. Life outside my window has been very noisy today. I was woken up by a man and woman having a heated argument. He kept saying he didn't want to talk to her anymore (and I was thinking I don't want you to either so I can go back to sleep!) They went away, I managed to drop off again and he came back with a friend and was telling him all about his argument! So I heard it twice!
Then later I was on the phone to a friend and some workmen were sitting on my wall swearing really loudly! Eventually I asked them not to swear so loud and they apologised and left shortly afterwards. Hopefully the rest of the day will be quieter.
Is it just Me or has YouTube really upped the amount of Ads it shows during Videos ?

Yes, a Dutchman working on the islands. I think six people have been killed by polar bears on Svalbard since 2005. In a strange reversal of mainland Norway, people are expected to armed with a rifle or a magnum revolver if traveling outside the major settlements.
Hunting seals and other prey on the ice is how polar bears usually hunt, but the fjords aren't covered with ice much of the year. For the first time in a very long time Svalbard isn't even surrounded by ice in winter.

The Nordic countries are masters of social distancing - before the Corona pandamic we were better at social distancing than Italians are now. The main exceptions from the social distancing tradition are while drunk and while hiking in the mountains. Sober Norwegians say hallo to everyone, including complete strangers, if we're hiking. )
I watched a program last night called The Art of Scandinavia and it featured Norway. It showed a lot of beautiful scenery. I didn't know The Scream painting was done by a Norwegian. ;% Next week, it will be about Denmark.
Edvard Munch was really Norwegian. In fact my mother's neighbour was Munch's only surviving neighbour, a niece of the famous painter. The walls were full of paintaings that are now worth millions and the family didn't even lock the doors.
Reminds me of the old story about how things used to be better in the old days.
When you could leave your doors unlocked....... Then again we didn't have Blu ray
players or large screen televisions, so we had nothing worth stealing.

I made some bids on an online auction a few weeks ago where Julian Glover was selling his collection of memorabilia that he had amassed during his lifetimes work. Before the auction they showed a video showing Julian talking about his career and the reasoning behind his selling his treasured items which he said would be better kept in the hands of fans. He looked absolutely marvellous for his age, talking from his back garden. I bid on some items and was lucky enough to win the autographed photograph below which arrived a few days ago. I will frame it and hang in my mancave

here's a GoogleEarth style webmap I found today that shows the position of the continents at various points over the last 750millon years.
Overlaid by the outlines of recognisable modern coastlines (but those break down the further back you go, for obvious reason)
Searchable spatially by location of modern cities, which should float around on top of the prototypic continental plates.
Also searchable temporally by key moments in the evolution of life.
But I'm wondering what happened to the other 4 billion years?
Whilst cataloguing my collection, I found this issue of World Of Wonder #2 from 1970 complete with free gift poster and an article on whether the UK should join the then Common Market. Some things never change )
