In September. a friend and I went to Wales for the day and when we got there suddenly couldn't remember if we were supposed to travel from England to Wales. ) So I suggested we just put on a Welsh accent and we'd be fine!
I was very happy to see the prices realised at Ewbanks Auctioneers, yesterday. 2 DN posters sold at £13k and £22k each, a TB poster sold for £4.2k and a YOLT poster went for £3.6k. These were all original UK quad posters, of which I have posters from the first 7 Bond movies in my collection, so it’s nice to see how much they are getting.
An OP poster signed by Roger Moore went for £2k.
Yeah, well, sometimes nothin' can be a real cool hand.
Lucky you, CHB. Or good planning when you were younger (certainly better planning than me ).
My dad knew the cinema manager and he used to give him a packet of cigarettes in exchange for the posters and front-of-house stills each week. A very nice deal as it turns out

I am accusing them of fake news. But unlike someone else who often accuses media of being fake it's because they are proven wrong, not because I dislike what they wrote. In fact I don't visit McDonalds every year, so I wouldn't mind if there were no McDonalds here

I’ve no idea when the first McDonalds was opened in Norway but that Radio4 program was originally from 2016...
A Swedish man in his fourthies was found being kept hidden by his mother in her house since he was twelve!
A relative sneaked into the house while the mother was shopitalized, suspecting something was wrong. She described the inside of the house as "something from a horror movie". It ws dark and it didn't seem to having been washed or even tidied up in decades. The man was on a rug on the floor, presumable his "bed". He recognized his relative and whispered her name. The man was taken directly to a hospital and operated on. He was severely undernorished, had no teeth and could barely talk. He had been a prisoners in his childhood home for 28 years
Is there a link between the famous Christmas tree on Trafalgar Square and MI6?
Perhaps. In 1942 MI6 agent Dagfinn Ulriksen was hiding on an island near the town of Florø in the south-west of Norway. He was reporting on shipping traffic by radio back to Britain. Before Christmas he got new supplies from a submarine chaser, a type of fast navy boat. Ulriksen sent a Christmas tree with the boat on its return voyage. The tree was a gift for the exiled king Haakon 7. Some belive this was the start of the tradition of sending a Christmas tree from Norway to Britain every year
Some facts: MI6 had more than a hundred stations in Norway reporting back intelligence during WWII. 191 MI6 agents worked in Norway during the war, probably all of them Norwegians.
It also sounds like a cover story
Excuse from a thriller movie, to
Explain explosions etc. To us

Yes, just like what happened in the Moonraker novel after the rocket hit the escaping Drax's submarine and still managed to kill lots of innocent people.
"The tough man of the world. The Secret Agent. The man who was only a silhouette." - Ian Fleming, Moonraker (1955).

At least he doesn't have the dreaded regional accent that often afflicts modern-day BBC presenters.
To be fair it was a pretty niche question ... even for here ) )
