Help me! I have drama coursework to do and I really don't know where to start! It's a comparison of two plays - Bouncers and Shakers. Our drama teacher has given us no help with it whatsoever and it's completely new to us all! Could anyone offer any advice or does anyone know some facts about the two plays which may be useful?! I know what they are about and who wrote them but that's about it really! I'm just completely stuck and I wondered if anyone could help!
Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice and everyone dies.
yea, the man racers have their pride issues, and I bet they are worried about being beaten by a girl. Seriously, they should be happy that she is INTERESTED enough to associate with them.

PS. Welcome to Baseball 101, I'll be your teacher, Professor Pendragon.
I'll start from behind home plate: There is a catcher, who catches the ball if the Batter misses it. The batter tries to hit the ball as far as humanly possible. The pitcher throws the ball, aiming of course for the catcher. To the pitcher's left, there is 1st base, with the first basemen, who, if the batter hits the ball towards him, will try to tag him out. Then there is a second basemen, who does pretty much what the first one does as does thrid, and in between third and second is the short stop, who bascically catches the ball if it goes over the pitcher's head. Then, there is Right, left and center field, who catch the balls if they go out of the dimond. Umm, I really don't know if I can explain all the different pitches and types of hits and all the penalties. Try this site: http://baseball.about.com/gi/dynamic/offsite.htm?zi=1/XJ&sdn=baseball&zu=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.momsguide.com%2Fbaseball%2Fbaseball1.html
and you can just go to http://baseball.about.com and find out more about major leauge and stuff...hope that helps!
I'm far too tired to look at that now, having just lugged the second lot of furniture up 3 flights of stairs to my mum's flat (that's apartment for you Yanks I dunno do you use the word 'flat'?)!

Has anyone else found that AJB is getting somewhat more boring? Don't get me wrong, I still love it, but the shortage of Bond news is hurting its appeal.
I've found that AJB is still as lively as it ever was.
There's a lot of Bond news circulating, and not just about Casino Royale.
We have the new AJB fan fiction in progress (exciting stuff) as well as discussions on the the upcoming Thunderball 40th Anniversary Function in London, the impeding release of From Russia With Love on PS2 & Xbox, and Charlie Higson's new Young Bond novel BloodFever.

I wouldn't say that AJB is "boring" just a bit slow at the moment. Gosh...no movies, no official novels, and no real news leaves us conversing about topics we picked clean to the bone. While asio has a point about some of the upcoming events, they are unfortunately limited in audience. Not everyone reads the fan fictions, and not everyone is hyped about the Thunderball anniversary since the big event is in London (which is fine for you Brits but us Yanks will have to watch from afar ) Still, it's only a matter of time before CR gets cranking. Then we'll all be as happy as hogs in the holler'

What are you talking about, Nightshooter? There's a fascinating new thread about your favourite Bond pose just started up....

Why do you want DVD covers Tilly?
Thinking about that, last night I was looking for video covers. I've taped a lot of Doctor Who off the TV and compared to the others in cases, they look rather dull and boring.
I've put all the relative information on the sticky thing, eg.
The Guardian Trilogy
Enlightenment Doctor Who
Peter Davison Season 20
1983
But I thought I'd print off some covers. My first attempt wasn't too great but the next one was and so was the next one.
I'm having trouble getting them to the right size, as the scaling on Word had gone a bit strange after my dad messed with it.
My first one was the hardest and I'm still going to make some adjustments. I couldn't find a decent created video cover, so I used a DVD one. The front was OK, but I changed the back around. I cut out some pictures from the back part and stuck them on. Then I cut out the Starring... in... by..., then I searched for another 2 pictures on Google and stuck them on. Now I'm going to write my own blurb for it.
The second was fine except I had to cut some pictures off the back so it would fit, but I've just stuck them underneath. I'm just going to put a small strip of paper over the remaining of that that's showing. But the blurb came out fine.
The third was then perfect except that the blurb is a bit blurred as it came from a much enlarged picture.
All had to be trimmed a bit so that they were the right size though.
If anyone's ever thinking about doing anything like that, such as with Bond videos or recorded DVDs, then I'm sure this'll help. It also means that yours is one of a kind!
Well, Jenson Button beat your man Jarno Trulli fair and square today in Turkey. He even overtook Michael Schumacher, though that was not such a remarkable achievement as Schumacher had one of the worst races of his career, which included a collision with Mark Webber.
The McLaren is clearly the car to beat right now. They would have had a 1-2 but for Juan Pablo Montoya's late race mis-hap. However, Fernando Alonso just has to keep driving like he did today and he will be the Champion.
Well, Trulli didn't mess up the infamous turn 8 as Button did! But we know that Trulli hasn't the best car to work with - but you can tell what a fantastic performance he gave when you measure him up to Ralf. Button wasn't a great deal better than Sato through most of the race.
Overall I enjoyed it a lot, and Turkey quickly became one of the favourite tracks of the calendar and I look forward also to future races there. On to Monza! - Look out for McLaren here! Monza is pretty much the fastest track of the year next to Silverstone, and the two cars with the best top speeds are surprisingly the BAR Honda and the Toyota, so it should be good.
this is a bit late, but I am proud to say that I indeed knew what 'flat' ment...probably from watching a lot of British movies...and talking to all the Brits of AJB!...And this thread is certainly still thriving...194 pages later!

This is one thing we agree on. It's instantly become a favourite of mine, also. The track has a lot of character, offers overtaking opportunities and is a challenge for the drivers. The next two Grand Prix's feature my favourite race tracks of them all, Monza and Spa.
I've got 'til Sept 8th. I don't want that day to come...
I've got till the 7th - and I don't want that day to come either! I want to go to Alton Towers one of the days before we go back - with some mates. For those of you who don't know, it's a theme park. I'm having a lot of trouble arranging it though. I wish some of my mates would turn their mobiles on and return my calls! X-(
yea...that's aother name for the class...I'm one of 300 that signed up, but I got in! the full course title is Studies of Film as Literature. I like it a lot, and I've only had it for a day! I might want to keep it around, but do something in theatre as well!
Sounds interesting, the study of films as literiture, definately the kind of thing I'd enjoy I think! Too bad I'm set on doing Aeronautical engineering!
But is the film studies you did General the same kind of thing? Studying films like you would a book? And what kind of films did you study?!
Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice and everyone dies.
Well, film studies is the examining of all aspects of the film industry, including the production of films and their distribution, and marketing. But when looking specifically at certain films, the range really is limitless. I've studied the characteristics of low-grade, low-budget comedies, right up to Hitchcock classics and even Goldfinger in comparison with The World is Not Enough.
Really it's anything and everything to do with films. But it's revolutionary films like Rear Window and Jaws that get most of the attention.
