I'm here - and General - I love that idea! It's half 11 and I'm on my own on the house as everyone has gone round to the neibours. They'd have gone round to the other neigbours, but 'cause of the bad weather, the bbq got cancelled.
I'd have gone as well, but my mate said she was going to a sleepover tonight so she couldn't.
So once they'd left, I started watching Moonraker, got bored, and so watched the end of 'The Year London Blew Up: 1974'. Man is was good!
But before they left, I was watching ITV 50 with my dad, and we saw 'The Prisoner mentioned on there. So my dad told me more about it and now I really want to see some episodes.
'I am number 2. You shall be number 6'
'I am not a number. I am a single man'
That line will not get out of my head now - I love it!
Anyhow... I'm looking forward to Dr Who tomorrow morning (tomorrow being half an hour from now ). I'm on the last few of the Sylvester McCoy ones and my dad remembers quite a few of these he said. I'm looking forward to tomorrow morning's though, as it has the Brigadier.
Oh Felix, The Prisoner is an absolute classic series; very well made indeed. Did you recognize the man playing Number Two? It was George Baker from OHMSS and TSWLM. There are countless other Bond appearances in it, too. I strongly recommend it.

I must second the General on this one here; "The Prisoner" is one of my all-time favorite TV shows. I highly recommend this article comparing Bond and the Prisoner for other Bond-Prisoner alumni. You might recognize the original Number 1 as Counte Lippe from TB, Guy Doleman
And Felix, I think you meant to say "free man"! You'll discover later on that Number 6 isn't quite single anymore )
Flattery will get you nowhere, but don't stop trying.

Oh, the Prisoner. Definitely one of my favorite shows, up there with Curb Your Enthusiasm, Seinfeld and Star Trek Classic. My favorite number 2 was the last one, I have no diea what his name is, but he was the villain in Help!, the Beatles movie!
My dad is a huge Prisoner fan, and I think we're gonna get the megaset soon on DVD. YAY!
Has anyone else found that AJB is getting somewhat more boring? Don't get me wrong, I still love it, but the shortage of Bond news is hurting its appeal.
speaking of TV...I finally got my mom's lap top to change DVD regions for me, so I could watch my Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em shows. I love Frank Spencer...and Michael Crawford
"It's fool proof, not Frank proof...nothing is Frank proof"
And just then, Frank 'looses' his slippers down the toilet after proclaiming that the garbage disposal 'bit' him...hehehe
And General, love the plan...lets get cracking!

Ah, that would be the great Leo McKern who also appears in "The Chimes of Big Ben" and "Once Upon A Time." I rather liked him in Beckett and the Omen, although when I saw those two movies I kept expecting Rover to appear behind him!
Flattery will get you nowhere, but don't stop trying.
One of my favourite bits of trivia has escaped me. Could someone remind me of the name of the Tower which houses Big Ben? Is it St Stephen's?! I know that's random but I love my random facts! almost as much as I love my Random Chat!!
Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice and everyone dies.

Leo McKern was indeed a wonderful Number 2, but then they all were. My favourite is Peter Wyngarde who appeared in Checkmate, which also just happens to be my favourite episode.
I also remember Leo McKern for his appearances in Rumpole Of The Bailey (TV series), The Omen, and one of my favourite science fiction films The Day The Earth Caught Fire in which he played a newspaper reporter.
*really needs to watch some of these shows* Hey, I forget if I told ya'll, but I got my Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em DVDs, managed to re-region my mom's lap top and watch them...anybody else heard of that show? It's older...

While I liked Wyngarde's appearance in "Checkmate," generally considered to be the classic "What's it all about?" Prisoner episode, I happen to prefer McKern, Mary Morris and even Anton Rogers in "the Schizoid Man," which is in my top four favorite episodes. I must confess, however, that my favorite Peter Wyngarde guest appearance on a 60's spy genre TV show is in the monochrome Avengers episode, "A Touch of Brimstone." Still, he's rather fun playing at least 14-odd characters in the color Avengers episode "Epic." I've always meant to see Department S and Jason King in which he plays the starring title role.

I have not seen Department S or Jason King for many years. I do recall that they were pretty standard fair for the time. In other words, they compared well with series like Man In A Suitcase and The Champions, but were not as good as The Saint, The Avengers or The Prisoner.
Regarding Peter Wyngarde. I have somehow managed to miss "Epic". It's one of the very few Avengers episodes that I have yet to see. "A Touch of Brimstone" is one of the classics and Wyngarde is first rate.

You are not alone Pen. I watched it last Saturday, and catch it whenever I can on UKTVGold. They showed a few times after Doctor Who, so I ended up watching it and though to myself:
"I'm going to die laughing watching this show."
I also watched it last Saturday. It was the one where he goes to his RAF reunion. )
Conserning the Prisoner, I've decided I'm going to get a boxed set for Christmas. At the moment, anything expensive I want, is being shoved on that list. That all includes the following:
The Prisoner DVD set. £50+?
New Mobile. £200+
Several £20 Doctor Who DVDs (this number is rising day by day )
electric guitar (including amp etc)£100+
£40 radio controlled Dalek!
Mna, this Christmas is going to be expensive! And this year my parents don't have an excuse for not having enough money!
my fav. episode of SMDAE is GEORGE'S HOUSE...in which Frank looses his slippers and my other things (almost including his head) down his brother in law's toilet. I almost fall of my seat watching Michael Crawford doing slapstick, and yes...he did ALL his own stunts! I've been writing a fan fiction devoted to it! rather amusing...

Could you tell me what happened in a touch of Brimstone? I might've seen it. Is it the one where he changes character and scenes and Ms. Peel battles him in each one? And it has something to do with steed and a breakable chair? Maybe? Refresh my memory!
Some Mother's Do 'Ave 'Em is famous over here in Britain, and I enjoy the show if I catch it on TV.
As for the Prisoner, if Leo McKern was the bearded number-two who tried to drive McGoohan insane, before eventually dying of a heart attack, then you can put me down as a fan too.
I recently bought seasons one and two off of Ebay, and I love watching them! That Frank...he has the best intentions...I love Michael Crawford as an actor and singer...^^ hehe. Did you guys know, that during his run as Frank, Michael and his wife could never get a repair man to come to their house? They refused to work on Frank Spencer's house...^^

*several days later* where is everyone? I feel so alone...
*about a week later* HEEEEELLLLLOOOOO???? random chatters???" Donde Esta?
My friends (my 2 most intelligent friends) are adament that the phrases "I am sat" and "I was sat" are gramatically sound. I, however, have a different opinion. Allow me to explain why I believe these phrases to be a sin:

"sat" is the past participle of the verb "to sit".[/*]

"I am ~verb~ing" is the present tense.[/*]
Ok so lets put the 2 together:

"I am sat" our problem phrase, does it make sense?[/*]

"I am jumped"[/*]

"I am ran"[/*]

"I am watched TV"[/*]
All of those phrases are constructed in the same way, with the phrase "I am" followed by a past participle.
Does this not prove that "I am sat" is a gramatical nightmare?
Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice and everyone dies.
You must also consider the role of the subject, though. Is it passive or active? If the subject is receiving the action (thus passive) then the grammatical structure might still work with a present tense and past participle
I am going to go off course here. On ESPN tonight at 10:00, the debut of a show about the football team at my high school. It is called Bound for Glory and it focuses on how we have been so bad lately, and us hoping to get better. It is kind of silly and annoying when they tape, but I'll watch it anyway.
oh! I herd about that show...too bad I don't have cable, or I would watch that. We had the Secret Service in our school for a week...talk about annoying. Then, they came to the talent show because a band that was playing there had a song about the President, and it wasn't very nice towards him. The teachers all said that the SS wasn't there, and I said; B.S. I gave them programmes (I was an Usher) I saw the little ear things...
