And The Doctor onboard the Titanic. I'm so there. Wasn't the Titanic referenced in one of Eccleston's episodes? I'm sure that somehow The Doctor had persuaded somebody not to travel, or had been on board the great liner. How about a Two Doctors episode? Xmas seems so far away. I guess we'll have to make do with Torchwood towards the end of the year.

It took the FoB millions of years to die. Jack mentions that although he seems to be immortal, he's still aging. If that is who he becomes, then presumably he just lives so long that his entire shape transforms.
...I guess we'll have to make do with Torchwood towards the end of the year.
I'm sorry to disappoint you, but Torchwood isn't returning until early next year. It was on gallifreyone.com a while ago. The producer (Julie Gardner) said that because last year had been so much of a rush filming and they were still filming the last episodes when the first ones were going out on air, that for the second series, it would go out slightly later, to allow them more time. It's a disappointment for the fans, but I'm sure it's a large burden lifted from those working on the show.
On Saturday's last episode of Doctor Who, I thought it was fantastic and felt genuinely sad for the Doctor when the Master died. Though I have my own theories about what has really hapenned. Of course even now he has died, the drumming really hasn't stopped I'm araid. It has entered my mind and now I can't stop drumming. )

The star will join David Tennant for Voyage of the Damned, an hour-long show following on from the current series, which ended in the UK on Saturday.
"This will be the most ambitious and best Christmas episode yet," promised executive producer Russell T Davies, who has also written the script.
Filming is scheduled to begin in Cardiff later this month.
There had been rumours for several weeks that Minogue, who halted her Showgirl world tour for 18 months when she was diagnosed with breast cancer, would appear in the show.
And Davies said he was "delighted and excited" to confirm the 39-year-old's participation.
Minogue, whose debut single I Should Be So Lucky topped the charts in 1987, is currently working on her 10th studio album.

Given that we already have David Tennant, who every so often gets a bit SHOUTY, we're going to have a lot of SHOUTING next season. Of all the people they could have chosen. 8-) Why not Carey Mulligan, who was everything an assistant should be? She was wonderful in 'Blink.' And what was so wrong with Freema? Why is she getting punted. This is one assistant I hope gets exterminated.
I read yesterday on the net that it was certain to be Tom Ellis, who played Dr Milligan in the last episode. Too many good choices passed up... I just can't see Tate being serious at all.

I thought Freema and Ellis worked well together. I don't see how RTD can think Tate is an actress. She can do the broad comedic style, but she was hopeless at the dramatic scenes in 'Runaway Bride.' I don't know anybody who thought she gave a great performance in that. Or in fact, a performance at all. Maybe it's a joke. In which case it's really not funny. Worst assistant since Bonnie Langford.

I feel sorry for Paul McGann. I thought he was rather good in his one-off appearance and would have been an excellent Doctor if allowed to continue. I do prefer Eccleston to Tennant. However, if Tennant had been allowed to talk in his own accent, I think I would like him better. That's RTD's decision though. RTD is so frustrating. On one hand we have a new improved Doctor Who, on the other we've got some ridiculous stuff to put up with. Tennant forced to talk like Guy Ritchie, Torchwood, Catherine Tate, and the shameless cribbing of material from Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
the Jurt is currently out on cathrine tate. I thought she was alright on bits of Runaway Bride but absolute rubbish on other bits. I was a little sick of the shouting by the end of it. in fact I didn't think it was that good a christmas special compared to Christmas invasion, however I did love the fact that we got to hear the Doctor Say Galiphrey for the first time in the new series.

I wasn't impressed with the Christmas Special last year, but I suppose Catherine Tate was alright in it. However, I'm not looking forward to her being in it regularly. She was definitely much better as a one off thing. It's just everytime I see her a little voice inside my head screams "Am I bovad?!". )

After months of media speculation, the BBC can confirm that the BAFTA award-winning Doctor Who will return for a fifth series in Spring 2010.
Viewers are in for a treat this Christmas, as a special episode starring David Tennant and Kylie Minogue will be broadcast on BBC One in December 2007.
Series Four, which went into production in July 2007, will hit UK screens in Spring 2008, followed by a special episode for Christmas 2008.
In 2009 Doctor Who will return with three specials starring David Tennant, with Head Writer, Russell T Davies.
The full-length fifth series will transmit in 2010.

Isn't it to give David Tennant time to do 'other projects' ? I'm sure that's what the media were saying - it's either that or lose him, which is very probable anyway.
Hard not to be a little disappointed by this. It was obvious that something odd would be happening because it was known that he'd signed up to play Hamlet for the RSC when they'd usually be filming Dr Who next year, but I'd didn't expect that; him simply leaving seemed the more natural choice. Perhaps they all need a little rest.
Still, nice to know that series 5 will be on its way.
These last few months have been pretty perplexing. First Martha getting sent to Torchwood, then Catherine Tate replacing her, and now a delay in production. The worst possible news I read was RTD saying that Harry Lloyd (who played Baines in the double-bill 'Human Nature,' and 'Family of Blood') might make a good Doctor.
I thought this guy was awful. The only worse performer in the series has been Tate and we're already going to be stuck with her for at least a year. If we had the both of them in the Tardis I think I'd give up.
Still, I notice James Marsters (Spike from Buffy) is filming an episode of Torchwood. That should be worth seeing.
