{[] Interesting news. I'd rather it was a secret, but it'll be fun finding out. What did you think of the Christmas special Em?
  • emtiememtiem SurreyPosts: 5,998MI6 Agent
The Christmas one was fun but I can't think that I'll ever watch it again. I wish he'd think up better resolutions than 'the Doctor presses a button', though.

And the big James Bond endings are becoming tiresome. It's a pity because what happened before was pretty good. I hope one of these specials is a Steven Moffat script.

Also the papers and the bookies are suggesting that Paterson Joseph will be the new Doctor, thus becoming the first black Doctor. Good choice.

The new Doctor is Matt Smith! :)

Pretty much an unknown so we'll just have to wait and see what he'll be like. The youngest guy ever though.

Going by this guy's looks I think someone cloned Heath Ledger! Geeze, they keep going younger and younger. I was hoping for a dotty middle-aged Doctor, but since the new Who is now something of a sex symbol I guess that was asking for too much!

good grief! He's WAY younger than I expected! I'm with whoever said that an older doctor would have been nice, but hey. We'll just have to wait and see!

Skit writers could have fun with this: Who in a Hollyoaks style. The Doctor renting out his TARDIS as a centre point at raves, with flashing lights and all... :))

From what i can remember Moffat will be co-writing 1 special with Russell T Davies. Davies will co-write another and 2 will be entirely his own.

    Great episode tonight.

I thought the 'Easter Special' had promise...some great moments...but still lacked...it didn't seem to have the usual 'umph', for me anyway.

'Four knocks'..?..well there are 4 more specials before DT steps down....it could just mean them....but..?..

But she said 'it'? Surely otherwise she would have said 'he'?

My brother and I were racking our brains over this straight after broadcast but struggling. It would be good if it were him - very good - but i still think that she would have 'he'.

I thought the episode was pretty good overall. Wasn't so keen on the ending. Also, thought they might have left it on a cliffhanger that linked to the next one. I was really hoping they would.

I don't belive it! Lee Evans plays a bumbling techie who's name is Malcolm Taylor.

    That's my name!

I've only recently lived down the whole Vicks "'corse you can Malcolm" ads

And now it says in the sun there might be a spin-off.

There are strong rumours which seem to have been unofficially confirmed by the BBC, that there will be a Doctor Who movie according to The Guardian. It seems an announcement will be made at the San Diego Comic-Con later this month.

David Tennant and Russell T Davies will be having a Q&A session at the San Diego Comic Con on Sunday 26th July. Hopefully they announce the good news then!

The next season is announced as being Season ONE ?:) So is this new Doctor going to play Hartnells Doctor in the early years, will it be a reboot, whats going on?????

The Tardis is also reported as having an exterior the same as the Hartnell years too, and a new interior to boot.

He could do with losing the bow tie. It's a bit too Open University TV presenter in Spaaaaccccceee. If the rumours are true and there is a film with Tennant on the horizon, are the Beeb giving us a Young Doctor series to seperate them? Who's the blonde in pic 2? Kind of looks like Alex Kingston. Oh it is, pic 5 shows her. :D I don't know what's going on here. But RTD isn't involved and there are no members of Torchwood hanging about so it must be good.
  • Asp9mmAsp9mm Over the Hills and Far Away.Posts: 7,541MI6 Agent
Moffatt at the helm, this series should be good. RTDs endings in these specials are a joke, hopefully Moffatt will be heavily involved in the double episode Xmas special that is Tennants last. Looks like they have made Alex Kingston look alot younger too.

how have you got the latest magazine already, Asp9mm?!

im nervous, yet excited by all this! hope it turns out well though is gonna totally confuse me if they do start it from the beginning again or whatever - a complete screw up for continuity etc which is already rather messed around with lol

I havn't, I just flicked through a copy, yet it has all been confirmed in the last few hours.

Heres a comparison pic between the sizes of the original historical police box compared to the incarnations used in the series. The new one is the same design as the 2005 Tardis, but with white windows and a new paint job to resembel the original more.
