Now that was more like it! Those "water infested humans" must've sent kids scarpering behind the sofa, they were really horrible... Just watching Doctor Who Confidential on BBC Three and even the actors being interviewed with that prosthetic face make-up is creepy.

Yes, they were....sent my son running into the kitchen )
He had to go to bed half-way through...I hope he doesn't have nightmares !
A great episode....full of a sense of helplessness....I loved it when the Doctor had to walk away....with all that was happening behind him...knowing he couldn't/shouldn't help them....the torment in his eyes.... - great acting from David. Then he changed....drunk with power almost...how he can do anything he desires....I thought the episode took a wrong turn there for a while....I should have trusted and know better !
It would also appear the budget has been improved too !
Why was the ood there? It has never happened before
Ood Sigma..... all will be revealed in six weeks.
Great stuff. Poppy actually didn't mind the flood creatures, it was the Doctor that scared her this time. I think this is great, it was Tom Baker that freaked me out way back when as he was so alien.
As for the Eleventh Doc. Have you seen his assistant :v
I thought the first part of The End of Time was really poor. I'll be glad when RTD steps aside for Moffat. Too much bombast, loud music and running about. And the plot was nonsense. Even for a show about an alien with two hearts travelling through time in a police box, it was nonsense. Dalton was great though. And he certainly spat his lines out, quite literally at one point.

I disagree - I thought it was great fun.
I think it was stretched out slightly, could have been more direct - but DT deserves a great send-off as the Doctor, so I won't complain too much about that.
I'm with you about Moffat though - I was really pleased when it was announced that he would take over.
Are you kidding, John Drake?! "The End of Time" was mostly good, although having a Obama look alike broke my suspension of disbelief, and the secret cult that brought the Master back could've been less out of nowhere. John Simm as the egotistical Master with strange powers was a bit cheesy, yet I liked his X-Ray skull and his interaction with Tennant was great as usual. Lord President 007 addressing the arena full of Time Lords was a truly jaw dropping moment.

10/10, a vast improvemeng on "Journey's End" - while it had some of the usual RTD guff (evil Time Lords getting waved away after the Doctor shoots a McGuffin) it was a very stonking episode, tying up the RTD era quite eloquently, with wonderful perfomances from David Tennant and Bernard Cribbins. I was on the verge of crying (in a good way). A vast improvement on "Journey's End". Thank you Russel T. Davies, it's been a pleasant ride for the most part, fair well David Tennant, roll on Steven Moffat and roll on Matt Smith.

I must admit to having shed a tear. The sentimentality was ladled on with abandon however and I wasn't quite to keen on the pre-regeneration vignettes (although the last was quite cute). The plot "twist" towards the end was signposted, but still genuine and effective.
On balance, I think it is the right time for RTD to go, but I would have been very interested to have seen what Steven Moffat could have done with the tenth doctor with free rein. I am looking forward to watching both of the last episodes back to back.
It would have been great to have Moffat and Tennant working together. Sad to see him go. Delighted to see the back of RTD though. Not sure about the new guy yet, but that's how it goes. Why would a Timelord be surprised to find he still has arms and legs and all the other stuff? Have we ever met a Timelord that didn't look like a human. The ending was quite moving though overdone. Maybe just going to see Rose would have been preferable.

Exactly the same for me, Pred....a little too much effort in trying to force tear on their part.
It was good to see the The Master again - a terriffic turn from John Simm and high praise to Bernard Cribbins too, a lovely role for him.
I'm looking forward to see what Steven Moffat does now - his were the best episodes by far.
The Master doing his "good turn" was quite unexpected, I thought, but a very good performance from John Simm - and Bernard Cribbins is a classic, as always.
On a complete side note, praise to Glasgow City Council for giving the only four original (and listed) Police Boxes in the UK some great deal of TLC this winter. The one in Wilson Street, in the Merchant City, was a bit delapidated and - for some unexplained reason - painted red for quite a good few years. But I noticed just before Christmas it is not only blue again, but at night it's lit on the inside and the roof lantern glows. On the foggy, freezing night I noticed the facelift, it really did look like the TARDIS!
I agree that the final episodes were noisy and not very atmospheric (though it wouldn't be up in space ) and that was a problem I had with Tennant's tenure over the years. Way too much exposition, then again The Master was creepy as were his doppelgangers, Cribbins shown to be a very good actor. Dalton very RSC and great diction, not sure about the emphasis on his lines at times nor much call for interaction given his rumoured £150K fee. Generally very watchable, that said the new Doctor got off to a bad start imo. Is it me just getting sensitive in my old age, but having him go, "Wow, I've got legs" made me think of some poor veteran of Iraq going 'Lucky you mate" and his quips about not being ginger still the sort of bad taste thing that puts my back up. Luckily I caught a bit of Who confidential that showed the actor behind the scenes and he seemed very charismatic and had something about him so we shall see.

He was expressing disappointment in not being ginger, not relief. When he regenerated from 9 to 10 he actually wished he could be ginger for once and it was a nod to that, which in itself was a nod to Billy and Chris Evans.
Still, looks like we get new Daleks (Imperial?), Weeping Angels, new Silurians/Sea-Devils and Karen Gillan...

)Got excited earlier than a few during first part, having already spotted the seal of Rassilon haha.
I enjoyed the 2nd part more than the first. yet it was ladled on bit thick at the end. we all knew he was going to regenerate and the sentimenal stuff just seemed to drag out a bit.
yet come the end i did shed a tear and thought 'i dont want to go' was a wonderful line to end it on. have since discovered that i was not alone at shouting at the screen 'i dont want you to go either!' )
being the sad fan that i am, myself and a friend have paused each frame of the trailer and analysed it to death. am actually ECSTATIC about the weeping angels return! my all time fav monster as they absolutely scared the crap out of me!
im told i you pause 20 secs in then that is the new TARDIS interior. seems a bit bare so im thinking that cant be all of it.
trying not to judge Matt Smith until we see the new series. i did the same for Tennant and so it seems only fair. surprising that so many people iv spoken to have already made their mind up that Matt is going to be rubbish. yet a lot of people said the same about DT when they'd only seen 30 secs of him and now they ae cried at his departure! ) needless to say im sure they will gain acceptance and move on.
although one friend says she wishes there had been some sort of support service she could phone )
Smith didn't look to clever jumping about in the regeneration sequence, but I think Steven Moffat will be a much subtler influence on him. I think he'll be fine and he looks remarkable. I do hope he isn't going to shout 'Geronimo' all the time though.

I put that down to 11 just coming out of the regeneration process, plus all the excitement of a crashing (or should I say "cwashing"?) TARDIS.
And as for Geronimo? He says is again in the 2010 season trailer, so that looks like it's going to be his catch-prase... fantastic.

Moffat has been quoted as saying that the new series is going to have more of a dark fairytale type of atmosphere like Pans Labyrinth..... sweet.

Nice one. His episodes, in my humble opinion, have been the finest since the series re-introduction and have sent the small children of my friends scurrying for cover (turning off the lights with a torch at your chin and saying "Hey, who turned out the lights??" to a 5 year old isn't wise - child nor parents appreciate it)
Loved it. Not sold on the new titles or the revamped theme (though perhaps they're growers - the Welsh male choir that subtly kicks in at the logo appearance is a nice touch), and the CGI snake thing was a bit cheap looking, but all in all, thought it was a top script with some great gags ("You're Scottish - fry something!" ) "Yeah, we had to move to England. It's RUBBISH!" No telling the new helmsman Moffat is from Dumfries, eh? ) and both Amy and the Doctor on first impression are brilliant characters and the chemistry is there. Tough act for Matt Smith to follow, but VERY promising opener. And Amy, well, wouldn't mind her turning up to my birthday party one bit
Kudos to Karen Gillan's young cousin who played the young Amy too.

So here's hoping for a sinister 2010 series! {[]
Here's a rather weird and energetic promotional preview.
That was made for the 3D format, so does look weird.
