Steven Moffat has hinted that Peter Capaldi's successor will be a woman. Speaking to SFX, "There easily could be a female Doctor, I think the next time might be a female Doctor. I don't see why not. I think it's good to do that."

Millennium FX do prosthetics and make-up , not the SFX, they are done by numerous other parties. Some exaggerating has gone into those articles - definitely need to read between the lines on that one.
I think MFX did a great job on the mummy, that was brilliant.
To be honest, I've lost all excitement for this show. I used to be a massive, massive Whovian, but, since Moffat took over the show, I've lost interest. His episodes are poor, the stories are ridiculous and the "story-arcs" are an abomination. Moffat must go, in my honest opinion. Oh, and River Song must NEVER return. EVER. Such an annoying mess of a character. Awful.

I do like Moffat as a writer...though I've not been 100% convinced with his 'handling' of Who...he's still written the best single episode since its return though -{
First I have to confess that I haven't read the rest of this topic. Norway is one of the few countries where Doctor Who never aired, but I have watched some seasons on DVD. While watching I started thinking how great it would be to have a female doctor. I presume this is far from a new idea, but I like the idea. I brainstormed some ideas (Emily Mortimer, Emma Watson, Helena Bonham Carter) but my favourite is Emma Thomson.
