Goldie & Daz Crawford (both addresses were taken from The Cat's page) - would you be so kind to take them off your page or add a note!
I did so. From now on, I add a note if the address is not working and if there is another "failure notice", I just remove it. Sadly, autograph adresses are often ruined by some trolls who just supply false info, so I can never guarantee anything. Sad thing is, I only get the complaints... I while back someone finally sent me a 'cheers' note, so some addresses are apparently working. )
Regarding Lazenby, I have two addresses listed on my site. I know both of them worked a while back, but nobody has tested them for about 12-18 months. Also, these are primarly autograph addresses, so I don't whether it works for actual fan mail as well...
Hmm... What does one usually send when writing to an autograph address? When I collected autographs many years ago, I naively assumed that the actors would have actually read my fan mail. If I did write to those addresses, would a secretary most likely send me an autograph from an already signed stack?
HillaryBray,
I type out a letter telling the star what films of their's I enjoyed (or songs, depending on the person I'm writing to) and then I politely ask them for an autograph.
I actually use a letter I wrote to Caroline Bliss as a template, and I change parts accordingly, with a final review before I post it.
I always assume the star will read my letter, and I have in the past received notes and letters back (accompanying an autographed photo) thanking for for my letter and following up on some of the points I wrote to them about.
For instance, I wrote to Nell McAndrew telling her I'd like to see her as the next Bond Girl (this was before DAD and just after she did a TV ad, where she immitated Honey Ryder's introduction scene) and she sent me a reply note (with 2 inscribed photos) saying "I wouldn't mind being a Bond Girl too!"
It's these kind of responses that make autograph collecting great!

Got the thing 4 signed 8x10 BW shots of Trina (shots I haven't seen before)
28 shots of Joe Robinson (many behind the scenes shots and other movies aswell as Bond)
Also got 6 8x10's of Valerie, 6 of Caroline, 1 of Madeline and 1 of Linda.
Also got back to get the post - received the 6 8x10 BW Casino Royale shots I sent to Bernard Cribbins duly signed with a letter
Asio,
Thank you very much for the help! I will definitely take your advice. I also enjoyed hearing of your success stories-Nell McAndrew sounded pretty nice! When I used to write to actors in grade school I got many nice responses from letters I sent such as the ones you described. My greatest victory in collecting was after I wrote to Tippi Hedren during my Hitchcock craze. (She was actually the first actor to write me back) Anyway, she sent me a really nice letter and four autographed pictures. A year later, by crazy chance, she was attending a small film festival which we had been going to for years. When I met her, she remembered me and two years after that, while we were in California, she invited my family to her house! It was great! It has been pretty fun having the chance to keep in touch with such a neat pen pal. Thanks again

Now that's quite a success!
Whilst I can't beat it, I have 2 great stories about Pierce Brosnan & Rosamund Pike. I saw then (separately) at the Melbourne Premier of DAD back in 2002, and took some snapshots of them. I then posted the photos to each of them, and within a few weeks, they were both returned to me signed.
Rosamund Pike even inscribed the photo to me in gold pen! She's tops!!!

What a prize! Meeting Brosnan and Pike must have been great! That was very nice of them to send the pictures back. Rosamund is so great!
Yes she is great, and quite easily one of the most beautiful women I've ever met! The photos I took that day don't do her justice!
And whilst I would love to talk about her all day long (and I would!), I believe this discussion should actually be moved to another thread, "Bond stars you've seen" or something like that.
We'll leave this topic strictly for autograph discussions, shall we?
