Does anyone know anymore information on the shirts used with the suits? i was under the impression (from various sources, including the costume designer interview posted elsewhere) that T&A did make the dress shirts but i have also seen in a post that this is refuted.
anyone know which is more accurate? im just curious. i guess if T&A, in fact, did not produce the shirts than the most likely manufacturer would be brioni?? most of the collars do look atypical to what you would normally see on T&A (and more similar to a brioni look), recognizing of course that T&A potentially produces a number of different collar types.
Were the PB era dress shirts done by Brioni??

As far as I know the formal shirts were by T&A. The Lindy Hemming interview said so: "The suits, designed by Lindy, come from Brioni Roma, a leading Italian tailor. The shirts are hand made by one of London’s finest gentleman’s outfitters, Turnbull and Asser and Bond’s shoes and boots are also hand made by London cobblers John Lobb Ltd."
...and T&A were able to produce a tie-in merchandise version of the dress shirt:
...which they wouldn't have been able to do if they weren't involved.
There was a post a while back by someone (can't remember who) who stated that an American T&A employee claimed the production company were trying to save money and used non-T&A shirts for all other scenes. Can't say I'm totally convinced by this because all of the still and press photos of the formal shirts certainly have the Sea Island sheen and what appears to be the T&A cut, and I don't think the cost of a few shirts was going to bust the budget.
As for collar styles, T&A offer at least six styles as standard but a customer can specify any variation they like.
Unless someone can come forward with concrete proof to the contrary, I'd go with the facts we've been given.
As for the Brosnan films, T&A are said to have been involved throughout, though Brioni may have supplied them for DAD... they certainly had a scene in which their packaged and logoed shirts were prominently displayed, though whether this was part of their 'payment' for the film, I don't know.
thanks a lot. It would seem strange if they skimped on a few shirts and went with a lower cost alternative. Of course, I think (apart from the formal shirt worn in the casino scenes) there werent that many suit scenes to begin with.
You raise an interesting point. Have all the shirts that T&A provided to the Bond films (back to Connery) all been of the sea island variety?
I also recall the DAD scene in hong kong with several shirts on the bed with brioni packaging. I would have to logically conclude that they supplied the shirts for at least that PB movie.
For what it's worth, I have a couple of emails from T & A in London in which they catagorically state they did not make the shirts bar the dress one. They even maintained this position when I challenged them on it.
T & A advised me the shirts were Brioni...
Of course, as Bill Tanner has pointed out, totally contradicts what Lindy Hemming has stated...

Did/can anyone confirm make/color of the shoes worn in the Miami chase?
