Against Collateral, well what can i say, you know after about five Minutes into the film how it all will end, none the less enjoyable.
SPOILER************************
Love both films, but I echo what you said. When an actress of not-so-modest promenance, playing a character several social levels separated from Jamie Foxx's character, and does a very short "cameo" in the beginning, you know that that's not the last you've seen of her, and that she'll somehow figure into the plot very significantly.

Saw Shawn of the Dead and Thunderbirds last night with my son, in that order, and fell asleep in the middle of TBs. My son loved it (he's 10), but I accidentally rented that instead of Team America, as I obviously associated the original TBs with Team America's puppetry.
Love "Shawn," as zombies flicks is my favorite horror genre. I really liked the quirky UK spin on zombies, and thinked that the comedic angle really made the biggest difference in making me like "Shawn" best within the Genre. Watched Resident Evil II last week, which was OK, but felt obligated because of Milla J, hubba hubba, and intend to watch Dawn of the Dead with running zombies! (I watched the original trilogy in the 80's). I will need to backtrack and eventually watch 28 Days.

Just finished watching Garfield with my little lad. He loved it and I found it passable, mainly because Jennifer Love Hewitt is in it

The second recommendation I've hard today for this film -and both you and the other person are father's of young children!
I just saw AMERICAN GRAFFITI...it was awesome! I've descovered that Harrison Ford can do a great impression of John Turturro, he had the face down pat! Not that he was trying to, but he did! it was cool. I also saw Boogyman last night...sheesh...it does have it's moments, but I spent most of the movie laughing, it was so dang predictable...
The Maltese Falcon! Noir at its absolute best!
This film was truly perfectly cast, and Bogie was never better! This film has been in my top ten forever! Peter Lorre had some of the best lines ever committed to film in this!
It deserves a deluxe DVD version similar to what was done for The Adventures Of Robin Hood, and Casablanca!

Heck yeah, NM. They've been selling double packs at Walmart, I picked up The Maltese Falcon and the older Casablanca release there. I whole heartedly echo your thoughts on this! If you can also check out the set of '30s gangster flicks at Best Buy. 65 dollars but worth every penny !

Just went and saw Million Dollar Baby. What a great film. Great story, great acting. It can win best picture, but won't. There was one scene that had me asking, "How can he do that?" And that one question will be the reason why MDB won't win the oscar. But again, a great, great, movie.
Some people would complain even if you hang them with a new rope
Guess I forgot to update and say that I watched Hide and Seek a few weeks ago. I didn't think it was an absolute atrocity (as per every other horror movie that's come out in the past few years, sans The Ring and The Grudge), but I thought it to be decent. It shouldn't have been marketed as horror at all, though; it would have been more fitting to put it under the genre "psychological thriller" or something instead...
My school has been showing random love movies over campus throughout the month of February (first it was Cinema Paradiso, then Amélie, and Casablanca). I didn't have time to see the first two, but I went to Casablanca last night. I'd never seen it before, and I thought since it was the classic, definitive love movie, I'd rather see it in a movie-esque environment. I REALLY enjoyed it. No fancy stuff involved; just a great story with loveable characters and some nice music to compliment the beautiful scenes.
And Peter Lorre went on to be Le Chiffre in the original Casino Royale.

For movies that I'm curious about, but which I know I won't see, I go to www.themoviespoiler.com and when I saw the plot twist of "Hide and Seek," I was not surprised and thought it was cheesy.

I myself managed to see Casablanca at a theatre screening, and I agree that it is a matchless experience that even DVD cannot outshine. Casablanca is one of those films that was still in heavy development while shooting had already been underway (Gone with the Wind is the other famous example), and they supposedly improvised on the script significantly, yet they managed to bring off a cohesive storyline despite the isolated subplots, and create magic with the film's witty dialog.

Starring; Clint Eastwood, Hal Holbrook, David Soul.
I think this film is better than its predecessor, 'Dirty Harry'. It has everything the original has, plus much more action, an equally gripping storyline and several surprises. Eastwood is as cool as ever.

I HIGHLY recommend this film. 9.2 out of 10.
I was just thinking of Magnum Force today. In particular, when Harry got on the plane. Now THAT was a funny scene.
To Kill A Mockingbird is one of the best book-to-film adaptations I've ever seen. I loved this film as a kid, and after rewatching for the first time in several years I still see why it's considered to be such a classic. Engaging storyline, wonderfully acted, and beautifully shot. Gregory Peck is in top form here, and the child actors are equally good. Elmer Bernstein's score was the score along with OHMSS that got me hooked into film music. Why he didn't win an Oscar for his work I don't know.
Flattery will get you nowhere, but don't stop trying.
Watched an A&E movie entitled "The Lost Battalion" -- a true story of an American battalion during World War I that got cut off from the allies and was surrounded by German forces in the Argonne Forest and held out for days until help arrived.
A movie's a little rough around the edges, but it's important the WWI never really become "The Forgotten War"
Somebody put in Kill Bill the other night, so I watched that until around 2:00am. I was kind of in the mood to watch the second volume again since I've only seen that once, as opposed to watching the first one far too many times.
And yesterday I watched Aladdin. I guess I got into the Valentine's Day mood a little early.
Dog Day Afternoon. I watched it because I had heard that it was another good (and underrated) Al Pacino movie. Also, the name really intrigued me. It was very entertaining. It slowed down a bit towards the end, but it ended good. Not only did Pacino deliver another brilliant performance, but so did John Cazale (R.I.P.). He was such a great and underrated actor. He died way too soon. The best movie of 1975 except for Jaws.

Great Flick Yodboy, I also agree on your opinion on John Cazale, He was great in Godfathers 1&2 and also in The Deer Hunter.

You sound like you expected a better quality film from the great acting team that is Sandra Bullock and Hugh Grant!
I could look at Sandra Bullock all night and not really care what she did
Hugh can have his moments - but the script gave them nothing to go with.
the last film i saw was this morning it was Docter No because i am waching them all again

The Chronicles of Riddick - poor story line -typical Vin Diesel acting (or lack of) yet still a visually stunning film.
Not as good as Pitch Black.
