Mine are:
TWINE- The one film that I felt PB finally grew into Bond. Also Q's swan song.
TND- Best of all of the teasers during P.B.'s reign.
Goldeneye- I disappointed at the lame special effects as he's trying to catch the plane in the teaser. Plus P.B. looked like he wasn't comfortable in the role convincingly enough. Other than that overall good.
DAD- Started out with a lot of promise and then after the sword brawl with G. Graves it was like the writers might've said..."Ok,we've totally gone stupid so let's do the rest of the film in mindless action!" Oy vay...

TND-good film didn't like Carver but Stamper wasn't bad
TWINE-not bad diferent than the other two though
DAD- good film bad Bond film I think this film appeals more to the genearal public than Bond fans
I dont' think any of them are classics, but that's what you get when you hire directors who've never done a feelgood action flick before. I loved TWINE unreservedly when I saw it but its power is reduced on the small screen and too many TV stars (Dench, Cleese, Bond, Carlisle, Coltrane, Kitchen) add to that. It's not colourful enough to be eye candy, though I prefer its look to TND. DAD tried to redress that through rather garish cinematography. Also, TWINE is a bit of a melodrama. I buy it as that, but the actual plot of nuking Turkey seems less involving or convincing. That's still better than the other three Bonds, where I didn't find either the personal or political plots convincing. TWINE's the only one that actually stands up as a movie for me, though I grant that GE had a couple of more dynamic action scenes and set-pieces. Apted had class and intelligence as a director and so it feels like the old Bond films of Young and Hamilton's day, as they had a similar manner about them.
So:
1) TWINE
er.. that's it. GE and TND are bad in different ways and DAD is abysmal imo.
1. GE You have an excellent villain in Sean Bean's 006, a pretty solid storyline, and strong Bond girls. Pity about Serra's score, though, and it does tend to drag a little in parts upon repeated viewings for me.
2. TWINE Probably the most emotionally complex of Brosnan's Bond films. I rather liked the character of Elektra and the developing relationship between M and Bond. The beginning is definitely quite watchable but just about any scene with Denise Richards detracts. I would've liked to hear Arnold have a little more emotional backing with his music in the Bond/Elektra scenes; what a wasted opportunity that any film composer would kill for.
3. DAD. It does grow on you a little with repeated viewings, and there are some good bits that I happen to like watching mostly in the beginning. Judi Dench's M just gets better and better. Unfortunately I feel like strangling David Arnold halfway through the movie because he hasn't really come up with any fresh original incidental music.
4. TND. There is very little that redeems this film in my eyes besides having one very cool, kick-butt Bond girl in Michelle Yeoh. And I still didn't like David Arnold even then.
Flattery will get you nowhere, but don't stop trying.

In my opinion the best film of the series.
Great plot, superb locations, good action

Great villain (with one of the most realistic plans to gain world domination!)
Best pretitle sequence ever
3. The World Is Not Enough

In my opinion the worst film of the series.
Some of the worst special effetcs in the history of C.G.I. Just think of the surfing scene 8-)
Where are the men who hang on nets behind aircrafts, jump from mountains with an union-jack parachute, speed around in a Q-boat, jump from the Eiffel tower... Sighhhhhh
1. Goldeneye - in my top 5 classic 'feel'. I enjoy this as much as any 'Moore' Bond (this is a compliment by the way.)
2. TWINE - a very close second let down only by Denise Richards. An interesting Bond movie though.
3. DAD/TND a joint distant third. None too fond of either of these. Recent viewings have shaded it in favour of DAD perhaps but really I can take or leave both of them.
Goldeneye first. i think it had the best dialogue of the Brosnan era, but the worst music. the tank chase is awesome.
to me, Tomorrow Never Dies is a close second. i think Paris Carver was a very interesting character, and Brosnan was at his best in this film. the motercycle chase was great, and its refreshing that bond and the girl dont have a sexual relationship.
TWINE is a close third. the earlier comment about this film being a melodrama describes it perfectly. brosnan is as good here as he was in TND, he really combines the best attributes of moore, connery and dalton perfectly.
the title songs in TND and TWINE are two of the best in the series.
DAD however, is a distant last. brosnan phones it in. jinx wishes she could be michelle yeoh. the song is bad (the title design is great however). the villian is incredibly unrealistic. the plot is like a thrown-out video game plot. everything or nothing wouldve been a better movie than this. there are some things i like about DAD tho. rosamund pike, the sword fight and the PTS were really great. and i still watch it occasionaly (not as much as my other bond DVDs.

And I will join you and bladerunner ... the Brosnan films have been getting steadily worse as the years have gone by. Probably little to do with Brosnan himself, but there seems less reliance on the 'magic' of Bond and more on the visual magic of the pyrotechnics guys ...
The stories seem to be getting more and more contrived ... as an original storyline I consider TND to be one of the best of the series, but DAD was weak and contrived. TWINE simply had enormous gaping holes of dullness at the moments when they should have been uping the pace.
1. TND-for some reason i love this bond-good starting scene, plenty of action, and a plot that does an awesome job pertaining to todays' world of corporate madness, makes it a little more believeable.
2. GE- Good film, yet brosnan was not as comfortable in the role. Good re-awkening to many bond-less years.
3. TWINE- Elektra seemed a little too fake to be a great bond villain, and reynard couldn't make up for her more drama queen-ish evil.
4. DAD- seemed like this poor showing got off to a bad start when the agents "Zoomed in on jet surfboards??" (Bond movie, not star wars) and then got even worse as our eyes were tortured watching bond beaten and our ears were tortured listening to madonna disco through the theme, then we watched halle berry (a respectful actress) play batwoman trying to take over batman's (bond) job.
what you said about DAD i agree with you totaly and what you said about TND is true too but TND doesnt let me feel that.Good story good start but i cant feel the movie.

the pb films are frustrating for me to rank because they all have serious strengths and weaknesses. but my personal order is:
TWINE - great villains, some excellent chase sequences; denise richards hot but awful.
TND - pb's best PTS and i don't why others hate her, but michele yeoh kicks ass; stamper is leaden, and the action relies way too heavily on machine guns.
DAD - the most schizophrenic bond film. first hour is stunning--jumps the shark at the sword fight and goes steadily downhill toward the near-nadir cgi surf scene.
GE - tank scene is great, but seriously overrated villain (006) and henchwoman (onatopp).
Now that I've just recently watched the Brosnan bonds again, I'll show my appreciation for them:
1. Goldeneye - Excellent concept & story, wonderful acting all around. I love the look Ouromov gives Xenia while she's making her orgasmic noises after mowing down the people at Severnaya. The car is a bit underused, however, and the score, while sounding cool on it's own, really detracts from the film. Martin Campbell is a fantastic director.
2. Die Another Day - I also think this is a good strong story and screenplay, with good acting on most people's part. The car is pretty cool too. But I think that Tamahori's speed zooms are really grating, and the sex scene was a massive misjudgement. A few of the one-liners from Halle Berry aren't too good. Still entertaining, however.
3. Tomorrow Never Dies - This has a rather absurd plot (the villain wants news rights? wtf?) but Wai Lin is pretty cool, nonetheless. One thing I don't like is the introduction of the P99. What was wrong with the PPK? Some pretty cool martial arts, and compitantly directed by Roger Spottiswoode. It does start to fall apart in the last section, however. And Teri Hatcher is a really, really bad actor.
4. The World is Not Enough - Don't get me wrong, I still like it, but TWINE is the least interesting Brosnan Bond IMO. The acting from everyone (except maybe Denise Richards) is very good, Renard is a very creepy character, and Robbie Coltrane is even better than in Goldeneye ("Can't you just knock like a normal person?" is one of the best lines ever) and it was a shame he was killed, the plot just fails to engage me, the locations look fairly boring, and Renard surviving a bullet to the brain? The touching Q scene is very well done though, and "I never miss" is pure class.
I've been waiting for a good spot to "jump in" with my first post, and I suppose this topic is as good as any.

I will say that I can find something to appreciate in all official bond films, and just because I consider DAD to be the worst Brosnan does not mean that I don't enjoy watching it.
I see no one has posted for a while, but I will give my opinion anyway. First, I think the Brosnan movies are the best since Connery and far superior to Moore's films. Now in order
GE - Two great female characters and villian
TWINE - Just below GE, great opening scene
DAD - First half of the movie spectacular, second half falls apart. HATE HATE the ice boat escape scene and the invisible car
TND - Story with Paris is compelling, good villian.

4: GoldenEye (I just don't like it and if Pierce and Bean hadn't been in it, it would have been unwatchable)

I struggle with the post-Dalton Bonds. And in fact each of Pierces' generally fit at the bottom of my top twenty. But heregoes:-
1 TND - the best of a bad lot. Carver is rubbish, Yeoh is overrated but the first half until 007 goes to Vietnam works as a story. It actually has cause and effect. One scene moves on to another. Also it contains what I consider the only real classic scene of the Brosnan era in Kaufman cornering 007 in the Hotel Atlantic.
2. Goldeneye - this one gets more tedious with each viewing. I enjoyed it in 1995 but they may have been that I was glad it wasn't an embarassment (I haven't felt that since). However, I like nice shots of St Petersburg and the two girls I consder the last "great" Bond girls.
3. The World is Not Enough. I enjoy this up until dismantling of the nucler weapon in the tunnel with Oscar winner Denise Richards (I kid!)then it all turns to offal. Why does that suitcase go off at the M16 station house in Istanbul? And when M is kidnapped by the villain you know they are running out of ideas.
4. Die Another Day - I can't say anymore. I'm just depressed just thinking about it. Wheres my valium?

Well... There is a slight chance that he migh be alive. Coltrane was allegedly in talks to return, but this is really unlikely by now.
