SEIKO OCTOPUSSY

Hello again,

Does anybody know where to find a Seiko like the one James Bond uses in Octopussy?

Any given information is welcome.

Thank you so much,

They turn-up from time to time on (drum roll please!): eBay. Complete if not mint, they usually peak at about US$ 450. Spy genre dealers sometimes have them, too; apparently one if not all versions of the packagings touted the watch's role in OP.

The thing is not exactly as sleek as it appears in the film: There's an AC adaptor and a number of other accessories needed to operate it.

I assumed since you wrote in reply to the one respondant that the G757 was NOT the correct type that it was the TV syle you were trying to direct us to. I realize now there were standard and sport versions of the G757.

I saw "Octopussy" when I was very little and was very impressed by the Seiko watch.
I remember me looking in every window-shop, but never found one.
I even have NEVER seen one in reality.
    Have you?

I'm pretty sure that this http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=10354&item=4974877917&rd=1 is the one you want.

    Hi,
I found a wonderful SEIKO G757 Octopussy watch on this website "Bondtoys.de" . I never saw this before : the watch is an NEW OLD STOCK watch, absolutely NEW, with a marvellous stainless steel black&white strap. I've bought one and guess there is still one more.
    Good luck

    Hi,
I saw the duo display of FYEO on "Bondtoys.de" It's pretty expensive, but the watch is in very good shape and is pretty impossible to find.
I have already one so I didn't buy it. In fact mine hasn't the right dial ("SEIKO" is not written on it, only the symbol) but the watch on Bondtoys.de is too expensive for just a dial !
    Good luck.

I'm looking for the SEIKO O674 from The spy who loved me. I'm interested by any tip.
    Thanks

    Thanks for the heads up!

I saw the 0674 on eBay a few weeks ago, but it was pretty banged up. I'll keep my eyes out for it though!

Looks like there is one of those 0674 watches at bondtoys.de!

i dont know alot about it theres hardly any thing on the internet :( and do they realy sell for what bondtoys.de has listed it at
  • IndyB007IndyB007 Posts: 6MI6 Agent
BondToys.de is highly overpriced on just about everything else that they sell, so I doubt it is worth that much. As for the other watches on the site, yes they are overpiced. The Moonraker watch is selling for $770 and the highest price I've seen a mint one go for is $190 (that includes shipping too). The Octopussy watch is on there for $897 - $1677 and that is only worth in the $150 - $200 range. I'm not trying to lower your price on the watch, but that site is way overpriced in my opinion...

Hello, this is Markus from Bondtoys.de

I am happy, that my webpage has created so much interest. I have noticed, that some of you guys think, that my items are overpriced. Especially in the case of the Horseshoe Octopussy watch I would like to point out, that the US$ 200 offers mostly are really worn out and come with the non-original strap.
The watches, I am offering on Bondtoys.de are generally in much better shape, come with new crystals (US 70,-- each) and have well shaped bezels. Usually, someone tried to polish them and after this, they look terrible!

I am orienting my pricing on the efforts I have getting these watches from my sources, repair cost, spare parts etc. I am orienting my prices on the prices, which are recently paid on ebay.

I agree, that you find cheaper offers, but are they better, if you are looking for quality?

Best regards to all of you from Germany

    In response to Dell's message:

The afore mentioned ebay seller, is my Boss!

The 98% prerequisite for the trust of an individual selling on ebay is nonsense. The last person to give bad feedback was a few weeks ago.

Suzanne had kept in full contact with that individual, explaining that she cannot post parcels the next day, as she has to work for a living!

This person was incredibly rude, and received nummerous emails, explaining why the parcel could not be delivered on time.

Here is an example of an email sent to her. Please note the End of the auction was Sunday, and this is him moaning on Tuesday.

"Where the **** is my fone! I have already paid for it so what the **** is going on!"

Please note the word use "fone". Says it all really. This was on of a series of rude emails and in the end, who can blame her for not sending the parcel and returing the money, in a timely manner I would add.

If you are interested in the watch, then give me an email, and i will give you a contact phone number either Suzanne or myself - if that makes you feel any better.

You can speak to us in person if you have any queries with the watch. Please do this if you feel that a 97.4% ebay score is not trustworthy.

    regards

I will cut in now that this is not a forum for discussing the merits of any particular ebay seller or buyer. Or for continually promoting one ebay auction.

Dell's advice is sound and I advise anyone purchasing anything off of ebay to at least read what he has to say. At the end of the day it is your relationship with the seller / buyer and as GavinScrimgeour says, the buyer is not always right!

    Back on topic please.

    Long story

There was an ipod 20gig faulty screen (290052714348) on ebay at the same time as the other stuff and the watch.

The ipod decided not to work during the auction, however it was advertised on the auction that the ipod could be used as an external USB drive, as the screen wouldn't effect it.

By mistake, the watch was taken off instead of the ipod.

The watch will be back on ebay on Sunday evening.

    Many appologies for the inconvenience.

You seem to be very a close and loyal worker to your "boss". You even know, what's wrong with her/his ipod and are defending him/her here on the forum on and on, bravo!
Just one thing: There can't go so much wrong removing an item on ebay and you see several times, which item you are removing.
