I want them all on one format, I have a few on VHS, and a few from various collections that have come out. I think it sucks that the 50th Anniversary set is Blu-ray only. I would buy that in a heart beat if it was on normal DVD.
The entire set has been on DVD for years now, well okay casino royale and quantum of solace are the only once's that won't have the same packaging of the rest of the set, but still, you could easily get all of them on DVD...
I own all of them on DVD as well, and own three blu ray one's... But I think I am going for the blu-ray update anyway! But thats just me..
I know, but I was referring to the 50th anniversary set only being on Blu-ray. If that set were on standard DVD as well, they could probably get much more sales than BR alone. I know there is a full set that is on DVD, a little steep for me right now.

Indeed very different in many ways to the norm, but thats what I like about the Bond fans!
You for instance ranked Live and Let Die as your very favorite, while on my list it is pretty much at the bottom! Which is what I think is so intresting! I'm sure that if I was to watch that movie with you, you could proberbly point out a lot of the aspects that make that movie the best one in your opinion! (Or atleast your favorite one)
A Bond fan should never be ashamed of his own opinion! -{
Yep, that's the beauty of bond fans
As for LALD... To be honest nostalgia plays a big part in it for me. I get plenty of enjoyment from watching it every time

22. Die Another Day
I've not done this in a LONG time (due to a certain site feature being removed )
Anyway, I feel my opinion is far from the norm. And I feel I will probably get flamed a lot. But ya know what? If everyone had the same opinion then life would be boring!
Anyway, I will give this a go, although it will be very hard and will probably change lots:
1 - Live And Let Die (Adore it from start to finish) 2 - A View To A Kill (Most underrated film in the history of cinema) 3 - Octopussy (Yes I like the Moore films, what of it? ) 4 - For Your Eyes Only (See above) 5 - Dr No - (This grew on me a lot over the years. Honey rider oh yes ) 6 - The Spy Who Loved Me (Another strong entry for Moore) 7 - You Only Live Twice (Always liked this one, and don't get how it's considered below-average) 8 - Goldeneye (Pierce's best, by far) 9 - The Living Daylights (VERY close with LTK) 10 - Licence To Kill (This and TLD could change) 11 - On Her Majesty's Secret Service (Not keen on Lazenby, but the film itself is great) 12 - From Russia With Love (A classic. The train scene makes it for me) 13 - The Man With The Golden Gun (Really like it, mostly due to Scaramanga...) 14 - Quantum Of Solace (An all-in-all enjoyable film) 15 - Casino Royale (Very well done. A bit different, which explains my low-ish ranking, but still very impressive) 16 - Diamonds Are Forever (Despite the cheesiness I still kind of like it) 17 - Goldfinger (This is where people will murder me... I like the film but consider it overrated) 18 - The World Is Not Enough (Not great, but it has it's strong points, and Elektra King is excellent) 19 - Tomorrow Never Dies (Below average for me. Some good points I guess) 20 - Moonraker (Was good before they got into space...) 21 - Thunderball (I respect it, but it just mostly bores me - sorry) 22 - Die Another Day (CGI ruins it. Some good points, but a flawed film overall)
And if they count..... 23 - 60's Casino Royale (I don't mind it, but it's not exactly rankable with the normal bond films) 24 - Never Say Never Again (I absolutely hate it)
Don't get me wrong though, I enjoy all of the bond movies (Well, except for NSNA)
I am currently re-watching all the bond films, and have gotten through 12 so far (I'm watching them in a random order).
And already there has been changes to my list. And here is a shock: DAD is no longer at the bottom - it's beating one film for me!
Once I have re-watched all 22 bond films, I shall report back with my new list...
Hi, found it very hard to compare the films with different Bond actors but here's my list:
1. Thunderball
2. You Only Live Twice
3. Moonraker
4. Live and Let Die
5. The Living Daylights
6. Dr. No
7. A View to A Kill
8. Goldeneye
9. From Russia With Love
10. Casino Royale
11. The Spy Who Loved Me
12. For Your Eyes Only
13. License to Kill
14. On Her Majesty's Secret Service
15. Goldfinger
16. Octopussy
17. The World is Not Enough
18. Quantum of Solace
19. Tomorrow Never Dies
20. The Man with the Golden Gun
21. Diamonds Are Forever
22. Die Another Day
Hi, found it very hard to compare the films with different Bond actors
That is exactly it. I love the Moore films, but I love the Connery films in a different way... and love the Dalton films in another different way. It's so hard to rank them because we love them for different reasons.
#'s 3 & 19 must be switched for this list to make any sense to me... B-)
Haha, i have a soft spot for Moonraker. Drax is one of my fave villains and the speedboat chase, skydiving, locations and score are all awesome IMO. I even like the space scenes!
I do like TND bit Carver really put this down the list (along with the 7 series).

First off I spent a long time making this list and then my browser failed so I'm having to do it all again
It has been a long time since I've thought about my Bond film rankings so this was fun and I surprised myself with some of the choices I ended up making. It is overall very different from my post in this thread 7 years ago, although the top few were all still near the top.
I haven't included CR or QoS as it wouldn't be fair. Over the past few months I've re-watched all the films and reached DAD today. It has been several years since I saw both films and so I'll include them at a later time when I've re-watched them.
The Best.I forgive their faults and have to make an effort not to grin through the entirety of the films.
1. Thunderball (I love the underwater fight and Largo as the villain)
2. On Her Majesty's Secret Service (My favourite Blofeld actor and Lazenby is pretty good IMO. First film I ever cried at)
3. The Living Daylights (Apart from the sh!tty villains, I really adore the plot and Dalton's Bond in this. Outstanding for most of it)
4. Goldeneye (Trevelyan is probably my favourite villain and Brosnan is fantastic. Perfect opening scene with the dam and I love the Bond/Trevelyan fight)
Magnificent. But not quite perfect enough for the top spots.
5. Goldfinger (The DB5 alone pushes this up the list along with the famous laser scene)
6. The Spy Who Loved Me (Has grown on me enormously. Nice take on taking over the world. The Lotus is gorgeous too!)
7. Live and Let Die (Good plot, good villain, good action! Also, my favourite Leiter and I wish there was more of him in it)
8. From Russia With Love (a proper Cold War-feel Bond. Despite his late entrance, Red Grant is brilliant)
Good.I still like you, but there are some massive issues that means it will never be love.
9. Licence to Kill (great personal vendetta story. The way Dalton says "Della!" sells it for me. Poor Felix )
10. Tomorrow Never Dies (not a great Bond film really, but I love it for its action scenes)
11. Dr. No (a nice introduction to SPECTRE)
12. Moonraker (it's all fine until they head into space. Jaws should have stayed a bad guy and died)
13. Diamonds Are Forever (Gray is the worst Blofeld IMO and drags the end down. But points for the "I'm Plenty..." conversation ) )
14. A View to a Kill (an actual psychopath as the villain ups this, but Roger The Codger snogging someone that young is disgusting)
15. Octopussy (I think circuses should be regularly employed to help gain entrance to heavily guarded buildings and there should definitely be an island populated only by sexy half-naked/skimpily dressed women )
Good grief. There is no love, only sadness that you could have been great. There are brilliant parts of you, but nowhere near enough.
16. The World is Not Enough (ok I guess, Bond shooting Elektra stands out as a very good part)
17. For Your Eyes Only (grown on me - I used to completely loathe it - and it really isn't that bad a film)
18. You Only Live Twice (I enjoy the volcano siege as well as the Little Nelly sequence, but I find much of it really dull)
19. The Man With the Golden Gun (Christopher Lee is great, but a lot of it is appalling)
Abomination. It had been years since I saw you. I thought others were just being harsh talking about you so terribly. But then today. I admit I enjoyed some of our time together, but it was cheap and nasty. There are few redeeming features about you and it disgusts me that you had to be Brosnan's swansong.
20. Die Another Day (it starts well and gets my hopes up but then it plummets downhill into a sickening mess which makes me want to puke. I pride myself on buying into the fantasy, completely and utterly, when watching Bond but there are several things in this - and yes it includes that goddamn invisible car! - that means I can't. It isn't just that, there is a plethora of reasons why I had no hesitation whatsoever of putting this at the bottom of my list immediately. The sole redeeming feature of its latter half is that if like Bond and Jinx I suddenly had that many diamonds I would probably want to do something similar ) )
So there you are. Shoot me down in spectacular fashion or agree with me so much you want to meet up and go for a drink This has been a brilliant way to spend my Saturday night
Good grief. There is no love, only sadness that you could have been great. There are brilliant parts of you, but nowhere near enough.
16. The World is Not Enough (ok I guess, Bond shooting Elektra stands out as a very good part)
THIS movie in 'Good Grief'??
*reaches for the tissues*
I'm sorry. It probably shouldn't be. It probably needs its own separate category! It has more redeeming features than the others in that group. I like Zukovsky's appearance, the x-ray glasses and a few other things.
I thought I'd highlight what I agree with/appreciate especially:
3. Licence To Kill
A great, great bond film, and a fine performance from Dalton
this film is entertainment from start to finish. 4. Dr No
This is my favourite Connery film. 6. Octopussy
Did I mention fun? That’s what OP is to me. Pure fun. And I love it for it. 17. Thunderball
I like this film a lot more than what I used to.
Thanks a lot FelixLeiter007 and Jarvio, my list is very different from yours but it is always nice to read what other people think. Reading your posts got me started on reviewing and updating my list again so I can post it again too.

I found that the way Bond seemed to feel for Elektra early on mirrored the way he really feels about himself, yet cannot consciously realize. It indicated a broken part of Bond that no other Brosnan flick came close to IMO. For that alone it gets high marks from me. B-)

Wow that is far too deep for me to properly process on a Sunday afternoon ) I'm gonna have to go away and think about that...
Relax darling, I'm on top of the situation -{

I'd like to raise The World is Not Enough into the Good category. I've had some time to think and though my ranking doesn't change, I've decided that it isn't really a horrendous film.
Two weeks later and I've now re-watched both Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace, so I can insert them into my rankings. First off I really didn't know what to expect from either. I realised I hadn't seen either in full since the cinema, and none of QoS since then. I wanted to go in blank, open to anything, but I remembered CR as good and QoS didn't seem to have a great reputation here.
So slipping into the Magnificent category:
6a Casino Royale
I liked it but didn't expect to like it this much. It is just magnificent in parts and I can't get over how much I loved it. The casino stuff could have been dry and dull but it was done well and more things were shown than just a game of cards. By the end I had begun to really accept this new guy and really wanted to see what else he could do. Unfortunately...
I'm Not Angry, Just Disappointed
20a Quantum of Solace
It has made me think better of Die Another Day ('Abomination' was probably a bit far, though I find DAD more hideous than QoS), although they were both close and I'll probably flip them round at the bottom forever more. I didn't like that the Vesper story continued and it felt like a double episode of a tv show with a big budget. It was big, but not big enough most of the time. I liked the opening and a few bits throughout, but I wanted so much more. The end all seemed to be over far too quickly.
I am hoping Skyfall will return the Craig era to form.
I am also hoping to fit in a marathon watch of all 22 at some point in the next 2 weeks.
20a Quantum of Solace
It has made me think better of Die Another Day
Wow, and I though I was hard on some movies.... I actually don't think of QoS as an actual move as much as a deleted last third of CR that we got to see much later, and as such, wasn't all that bad...
Top 22 Bond Films: (My Order - based on quality, personal favourites and guilty pleasures)
1. The Spy Who Loved Me (For me the apsolute best. Great plot, great locations, a brilliant and exciting ending too. Also Babara Bach is a great Bond girl and Jaws is a superb villain)
2. Goldeneye (Some love it and some hate it, I love it. Brosnan brought Bond in to the 90's in great style. Great score, great scenes like the tank chase and the brutal 006 v.s 007 fight which is the most realistic fight scene to date and oh yea, Xenia Onatopp, what a villain)
3. On Her Majesty's Secret Service (A brilliant film with a terrific story and the most tragic ending to date. Tracy is my favorite Bond girl and Dianna Rigg puts in a fantastic performance. Also how can people criticise Lazenby when he was a model and chocolate advertiser before he did this film, I thought he did a great job. One more thing, the films score is the best score on a Bond film to date in my opinion)
4. From Russia With Love (A near perfect film with a great plot, Sean Connery is fantastic in this film, hence the reason why so many people think he'll always be the best Bond. Also Pedro Armanderiz puts in a fine performance as Karim Bey, he was terminally ill at the time and barely stand in some of the scenes)
5. Skyfall (I read great reviews for the film, i read a few bad ones. I've now seen it and it has to go straight in my top five. All I can say is Forget the doubters and the haters, I've heard that ‘this isn't true bond’ and this film let's down, truth is you can't believe what you read. I read a review which said Bond fans are best staying at home and not seeing it , pardon me but the person who wrote that is a complete fool. This is a great film that I'll have to see more than once and twice to decide exactly where it lies on my list)
6. The Living Daylights (A classic Bond adventure, Dalton is mostly great, maybe he's lacking in the humor department but he portrays Bonds dark side well. This film is basically great from start to finish)
7. Casino Royale (Daniel Craig's appointment of Bond was questioned and even ridiculed, how silly those people look now. Okay this isn't your average Bond film but Daniel is superb in this stylishly shot film that shows Bond in his early days, when he'd just become a 00. The pre-credit sequence had me on the edge of my seat, the torture scene was very well done and I loved the relationship between Bond and vesper, it's a terrific film.)
8. Licence To Kill (An enthralling watch but the film goes too far, the set was actually haunted aswell and a fire hand came out of the burning car when it was pictured, horrible. Good film though)
9. For Your Eyes Only (An underrated gem, Sir Rogers second best in my opinion. I can't understand any hate this film gets. The skiing scenes are great, the bond girl brilliant and Bibi, well she doesn't ruin the film, her scene with her in bed with Bond telling her he'll buy her an ice cream is hilarious. The only thing I don't like about it is the Thatchers as the scene is silly and not necessary, apart from that it's a great film.)
10. Thunderball (I love this film, it's a miles better watch than You Only Twice in my opinion, this film is underrated. I have to say Domino is one of my favourite Bond girls. Some say this films too long, I just call it an epic.)
11. The World Is Not Enough (A bit of a guilty pleasure I suppose, was the first Bond film I saw in the cinema. I still feel it's a good film though, I'll have to use the word underated again)
12. Goldfinger (I'm sorry to Goldfinger fans, it's a great film but I just prefer watching others if I'm honest, maybe it just hasn't aged as well as other Connery films, I'll still call it a classic though.)
13. Octopussy (I'll have to use the word underated again. This is Roger's third most enjoyable film in my opinion, was he too old? I feel that he actually wasn't although maybe in A View to a Kill he should of called it a day. In this film Kamal Khan is a decent Bond villain whilst General Orlov was fantastic, it was like he was possessed, just a crazy character. I love the scene where he is chasing the train and he gets gunned down. I think the films humour is on point, it's not over the top, Vijay is a good Bond ally and the girls are also very good, particularly Magda in my opinion, in fact Kristina Wayborn would of made a good Octopussy I think. I love the scene where Q saves the girls as well, very funny. Overall it's a very enjoyable film.)
14. Dr. No (Bond got off to a great start, I feel Dr. No actually gets boring after a while but it's great at the start. This is a classic, make no mistake but I enjoy watching others)
15. A View to a Kill
(Originally number 20 on my list, but I have re-watched it since and I can honestly say that I made a mistake, has Roger aged? Yes he looks older but he's actually ‘Moore’ in trim than he was in the also very good an underrated Octopussy. I think the story is great and the film has a nice pace about it unlike newer films such as Quantum of Solace. Is Stacey a great Bond girl? Not particularly but she isn't as bad as others make out, it's characters like Zorin though that stand out, one of the all time great Bond villains, a true psychopath and unlike a lot of villains in film, you are forced to hate Zorin, it's actually enjoyable when he dies. Also his death scene was great, I like others loved the way he laughed before falling to his death, hats off Christopher Walken. There are some very enjoyable scenes in A View to a Kill, although I think overall the film may of been better received had this been Daltons first Bond outing, but as a Roger Moore fan I have to say this film was a great swan song for him. This film is stupidly hated on, the initial reception to it I feel was unfair and Roger deserved more respect. I'll finish by stating that this film actually ushered in a different era for Bond, a more hard hitting era that we would see come to life in films such as Licence to Kill.)
16. The Man With The Golden Gun (One of my favorites as a kid and I think kids today would love this as well. Scaramanga is great and the fun house showdown is genius, the film is miles too silly, they just completely ruined that great car stunt, anyway I've always enjoyed this film for what it is, pure fun.)
17. Diamonds Are Forever (Sean looks bored but I have to admit, this is a guilty pleasure for me, it's Roger Moore-esque in it's style, infact I wish Roger had done it, Sean looks too old and out of shape. The film has a lot of humour in it, which does work, it is a lot of fun and it is a good swan song for Sean, bored or not. I do wish Lazenby had done a second Bond film, a revenge styled film and I believe it would of been a classic as OHMSS was but I do enjoy DAF, it's underrated and I enjoy it every time I see it.)
18. Quantum of Solace (Daniel Craig stars as action man in this Bond film. No seriously theres some good and edge of your seat action scenes but the film is too fast and too short, it hardly gives you a moment to break from the action as it just has no sense of pacing. One of the good scenes is where Bonds shooting with opera music in the background, it's dramatic and well shot, I can't quite remember it as I haven't seen it for a while, but it's a decent scene. I just feel overall that this is a disappointing film, it almost feels like a rushed video game, 007 legends for instance.)
19. Live and Let Die (This film for me is good because it stars Roger for the first time as Bond and he looks young and healthy, the score is also brilliant, the theme is a classic. However overall the film is just too dull for me and Kanaga's death is ridiculous, kind of hurting the overall quality of the film in my opinion. I know some people feel this film is a classic, but it just isn't for me, I can appreciate it though and I enjoy it when I see it.)
20. You Only Live Twice (Sean's worst film in my opinion, I'll admit there's some good scenes, the finale for instance is entertaining. I do like seeing Peter Maivia on screen although they could of done more with the fight. I don't like Bond being turned Japanese, I think it's silly. Overall it's just a bit dull, I feel the same way with Live and Let Die.)
21. Moonraker (For your eyes Only was initially canceled for this? Yes Bond went all Star Was on us and I'm actually surprised that Bond wasn't equipped with a lightsaber. This film wasn't all bad though, infact for a while it was actually a good film but it got out of hand and got too silly, they ruined the Jaws character and turned him in to a comedic clumsy bafoon, for laughs I guess, but I'd trade a snigger for a really great character with a lot of depth to him/her.)
22. Tommorow Never Dies (I could never really get in to this film, it's a bit boring and has bad casting in my opinion. The Elliot character is one that despite being a crazy power hungry man lacks the same hate invoked from fans against Strongberg from The Spy Who Loved Me. Stamper..well he's like a Grant wannabe from Russia With Love, except his character lacks any kind of depth and you really couldn't care less when he dies. I think in some ways I can see that this film goes back to the old Bond formula and the film has its fair share of enjoyable scenes, overall I can watch it and appreciate it a little because it's a Bond film at the end of the day and there isn't a Bond film that I hate, including Die another Day,)
23. Die Another Day (It was good for a while, I think it had a very strong opening and I was actually enthralled at the beginning when I first saw it. The film does give a nod to previous Bond films which is nice and I have to say I can enjoy this film even though it's absolutely ridiculous and goes way over the top. Madonna, well..she sings the worst ever theme and is even in the film offering a very stiff performance in a fencing scene. This was 2002 where CGI was being explored to the max and everything had to be ‘modern' and better, with invisible cars which is shocking to me and the villain changing from a Korean man in to a white Brit called Gustav Graves which is laughable, ‘Do you see me now Mr. Bond?’...oh god! This film will probably always be the most ridiculous entry in the Bond series. This is pretty much trash if you ask me, although I apologise because to me it's fun trash if there is such a thing.
-Latest edit included adding Skyfall to my list.

21. Tommorow Never Dies (I could never stand this film, it's boring and has bad casting, I can watch it and appreciate it a little though because it's a Bond film at the end of the day)
Dude, I mostly liking your reviews all the way up to here, but TND is a GREAT non-literary hero Bond movie in the tradition of TSWLM!!!! 8-)

I guess that's not a bad way to think of it. But even then, I would see it as a let down to an otherwise great movie!
Perhaps I will come to like it more on repeated viewings. I want to think better of it (it does have some good moments) I'm just struggling to do so currently.
Ok, I've changed and re-arranged my list from before, and from re-watching all the bond films. I think now I am finally happy with my list. And so here it is (But I still stress, I enjoy EVERY bond film. It IS bond afterall, right?):
1. Live And Let Die
I admit that much of this is to do with nostalgia as it was my first bond film. But the bottom line is, LALD is so very enjoyable to me, from start to finish. I feel that it is an all-rounder, and I love the whole voodoo theme to it. Baron Samedi is my favourite henchman and I love the scene where he comes out of the ground – very memorable and iconic. Also a fine introduction to Moore. And Solitaire was a great bond girl. Kanaga was a good enough villain, but his death was stupid. The crocodile escape was obviously a great scene, and this film also has my favourite incarnation of Felix Leiter.
2. A View To A Kill
Seriously, why all the hate? People probably think I’m stupid for ranking this so high. This saddens me, because every time I see this film, I dearly love it. To me, it is just pure entertainment from start to finish. Sure, bond is old. And sure, Stacey Sutton leaves a lot to be desired. But in place of those, IMO tiny flaws, we have excellent action sequences, such as the city hall fire, fire engine chase, the whole mine sequence, and of course, the golden gate bridge fight. This is one of the most memorable bond films there have been. And Max Zorin is simply a brilliant villain. So slate DAD and MR all you want. Criticise TMWTGG and DAF as you please. But AVTAK? It’s better than these. (Although California girls was obviously not needed whatsoever). But brilliant film nonetheless. I hope it will get more praise one day...
3. Octopussy
OP is pure fun. And I love it for it. Roger moore trying to disarm the bomb as a clown is one of my favourite bond scenes ever. Yes, it may be seen as silly, but I still like it. I actually see it as tense, which is ironic seeing as the clown suit makes it seem like comedy. Kamal Khan was a decent enough villain. Orlov not so much. The knife throwing twins – brilliant. The train scene – brilliant. This sure is a film that keeps me entertained. (The tarzan yell was stupid though).
4. Licence To Kill
A great, great bond film, and a fine performance from Dalton. He was great in both of his movies, and I only wish he had done more. LTK may be a little different from the norm, but I just love what it has to offer – great action, different story, and a SUPERB main villain in Sanchez. The road chase is the icing on the cake in this great, entertaining movie. Dario was a great henchman also. I love how Sanchez valued loyalty, and the whole bond framing krest thing was excellent. Haters gonna hate, but to me this film is entertainment from start to finish.
5. Dr No
This is my favourite Connery film. Is that controversial? I don’t know. But considering this was the first ever in the series, it’s bloody good. The action isn’t exactly in your face in this one, but I love the way the film flows and I think the build-up to the main villain is terrific. Honey Rider is hands down my favourite bond girl, who IMO, has yet to be matched. I love to just chill out to this film, and it is a fine introduction to both Connery and the bond franchise in general.
6. For Your Eyes Only
Another fine entry from Moore. Nothing wrong with this one (well except Bibi). Not much to say except it’s a solid entry, a strong performance from Moore, a decent bond girl in Melina, and an average villain. The highlight of the film for me was bond scaling the cliff – absolutely brilliant sequence that has me on edge every time. Great stuff.
7. You Only Live Twice
I really can’t see why YOLT is not that popular. To me, it’s very entertaining, and the opening of the volcano is one of the most memorable and iconic moments in the bond universe, not to mention Blofeld’s face finally being revealed. The little Nellie sequence was cool, and I thought Tiger Tanaka was a very good ally to bond. Loved Tokyo. Connery, unlike what others say, did a great performance in this film for me – I really can’t see why people criticise it. The only shortcoming in this film is the bond girls. But Helga Brandt makes up for that in that she was a pretty good villainess. Overall a great, memorable, and fun bond film.
8. Goldeneye
By far Brosnan’s best, and a great introduction for him. It has some really great moments. Particularly the fantastic PTS. 006 was a fine villain portrayed by a fine actor. Xenia Onatopp was brilliant too, and Ourumov was especially evil. Perhaps my favourite scene from the film is when Boris keeps clicking the grenade pen – I love the anticipation. Other great scenes include the statue park, the tank chase, the train sequence, and the bond/Trevelyan fight on the satellite shield. A fantastic film overall.
9. The Living Daylights
Quite a strong entry in the bond franchise. As I said earlier, Timothy Dalton performed very well as bond in both of his films. TLD was a fine introduction to Dalton. This film was a big change in the franchise at the time, and it pulled it off really well. It is very strong storywise, and I particularly enjoyed the explosive milk bottles, saunder’s death, and bond fighting necros on the net hanging from the plane. Some great moments here. (Not the Cello chase though!) The villains were not strong – but Koskov’s weakness worked well for his character. He had to be like a cowardly weasel in order to make MI6 believe in his defection. Brad Whittaker on the other hand was kind of poor. Kara was ok but not great, and at times annoying. Overall a very good film, with just a couple of shortcomings.
10. The Spy Who Loved Me
Dare I say it? This film (whilst still a great bond film) is kind of overrated. Yes I like it. But so many people cite it as Moore’s best. For me it’s really not. To be honest, Jaws is an example of a henchman that I don’t particularly like. I mean, nothing hurts him – it’s too far. And also, for me the film started to get boring as soon as they entered the Liparus, and the whole Liparus/Atlantis climax seemed to go on a bit long. And Stromberg? Not the strongest villain (although it was cool how he killed the woman and the 2 professors). Despite my slight criticisms though, the Egypt scenes were brilliant, as was the underwater car. And the PTS is one of the best in the series. A great bond film, but slightly overrated.
11. On Her Majesty’s Secret Service
Overrated, but only because so many fans cite it as the best. IMO it really isn’t. Some of the camera work on some action sequences are quite bad – even for their time. But I'll forgive it. My main gripe is, dare I say it, Tracy. She seems to be in love with bond much too soon, and I find it a bit unbelievable. Ruby is an awful, awful bond girl. Ok, so now I’ve got the negative out the way, I will say that this is a very memorable film, unique story, probably the best Blofeld, and fine locations in the alps with great skiing sequences. Lazenby wasn’t great, but not terrible either. A strong bond film overall.
12. From Russia With Love
I’ve always liked this one, and one of the main reasons is that I think it’s a really good introduction to SPECTRE. Yes I know they’re mentioned in Dr No, and that Dr No himself is a member, but it’s not until FRWL that we get a real glimpse of SPECTRE, and ‘see’ Blofeld for the first time. The interaction and co-operation between the 4 villains (Blofeld, Klebb, Kronsteen, Grant) is really good. I also enjoyed the sniper scene with Kerim and Krilencu. But my favourite part of the entire film is the whole train sequence with red grant, which I thought was executed brilliantly. The poison shoes were pretty damn cool too.
13. Diamonds Are Forever
Not a very liked bond film by many. But I like it. Why? Because not only is it fun, but it also has some truly great moments. The moon buggy chase is just brilliant. As is bond climbing to the top of Willard Whyte’s building. And Wint and Kidd made for some entertaining viewing. The oil rig was ok, but Blofeld was a little weak I thought. I thought he was a good villain, but just didn’t suit the role of Blofeld. The one thing I don’t like about this film is the Blofeld clone – a bit silly. But otherwise, this is a very enjoyable film for me, and somewhat of a guilty pleasure.
14. The Man With The Golden Gun
Again, another guilty pleasure. But I must admit, I see more flaws in TMWTGG than DAF. The plot just seems a little slow and doesn’t seem to go anywhere. But having said that, the villain is excellent, the funhouse scenes are great, the island is cool, and the car chase (minus that stupid slide whistle) is brilliant. Admittedly though, a lot of my enjoyment of this film is due to nostalgia, as I believe it was the second one I ever saw.
15. Goldfinger
A great bond film, don’t get me wrong. But I just don’t think it’s one of the best like so many do. The story is great and the villain is strong. There’s lots to like. There’s also some great moments, such as the woman painted in gold, and the actual fort knox operation sequence with the planes and the gas. Brilliant stuff. And let’s not forget the golf scene. Oddjob I don’t much like though. He was ok, and I understand that he inspired the ‘larger than life’ henchmen. But I just hate the fact that he feels nothing when bond wacks him in the face with a metal pole. IMO that is just stupid. And that is why I think Oddjob (and Jaws too) are a bit silly. Good film though nonetheless.
16. Quantum Of Solace
This is a decent film but at the same time I’m of two minds with it. It seemed to be, I dunno.... lacking? It seemed more like a Bourne film than a bond film at times, and much of the story required further explanation IMO – seemed rushed. The opera scene was pretty damn cool though, as was the burning building climax. And craig gave it his finest. Bond girl was ok, villain was weak. But my main criticism – The PTS. Perhaps the worst PTS in the series. That camera is just... crap.... But anyway, good film, and I particularly like the fact that the film never drags.
17. Casino Royale
This film was very well done. And Daniel Craig is a brilliant bond IMO. Now don’t get me wrong – nothing is wrong with CR in my eyes, nothing. It was very well done. But it is so hard for me to rank amongst the others due to being so different. It almost feels like a different series. Vesper was a great bond girl, and this film seemed very story-orientated, which worked well. The film is a little long, but has some great moments nonetheless, such as the bond being poisoned scene and the torture scene.
18. The World Is Not Enough
Well, there's some good things about this film, but also parts of it seem rather boring. The best thing about this film IMO is Elektra King. She is a fine villainess, and the scene at the maiden's tower where she has pierce strapped down is pretty good. The PTS is ok , although a little long. I liked the bomb in the pipeline scene as well as Valentin's return. And the inflatable jacket/sphere was cool. Renard was fairly weak though. All in all, ok film.
19. Tomorrow Never Dies
It's an ok film by all means. But it just doesn’t keep me as entertained as some other bond films. Elliot Carver is a bit ridiculous. But then again, he is a good homage to those over the top villains, so I liked him in that respect. The stealth boat climax was ok I guess, and the Kaufman scene was pretty good. And what's not to like about the huge poster of Carver being ripped during the fall? Bond's free-fall was good too. But for some reason, overall the film doesn't seem to be as good as the sum of it's parts... Very close with TWINE.
20. Thunderball
I like this film more than what I used to. I used to think it was really boring. But I eventually warmed to it a bit, mainly due to some excellent scenes. Just about every scene involving Fiona Volpe was great – she is one fine villainess. Largo was a decent villain. And another great scene is when Angelo hijacks the plane, then is left to drown. Lots of good stuff in this film. It is still overall a low ranker on my list though, just because.... well, I don’t know why... just because I like 19 films better than it. I guess I still find the film slightly boring in places, for example, a lot of the underwater fights near the end of the film, which did get a bit too much for me.
21. Die Another Day
Now, I DO enjoy DAD overall. But in terms of bond, it's definitely down there. Obvious reasons really - terrible CGI, matrix-like sequences, Jinx, Jinx's awful dialogue, invisible car, Mr Kil etc etc.... Some of DAD’s very few good points include the PTS, the fencing fight, miranda frost, grave’s death, and graves killing his father. The whole face surgery thing was kind of interesting I guess. And I don't mind Gustav Graves as a villain actually. But many, many problems with this film just cannot save it from being a low ranker in the bond cannon for me. And I know that it's been mentioned before, but... the para-sailing scene is really quite bad.
22. Moonraker
There are three good things about MR. For instance, the centrifugal scene is absolutely brilliant, and is one of my favourite bond moments ever. The chang fight is pretty good also. And the song was good. But other than that.... no thanks. I was never keen on Jaws in TSWLM, but he is unbearable in MR. Why make him fall in love? How stupid. The love scenes are just unforgivable. They are just shameful and have no place in a bond movie. Drax is very one-dimensional (although at least he's evil, which a bond villain should be). Holly Goodhead I don’t mind, but she really could have acted better. My main problem with this film (other than the jaws love scenes) is the entire space sequence. The whole super-race thing made me wanna cry with embarrassment. It doesn’t belong in a bond film. Sci-fi? Yes. Bond? No. And the laser fight in space? Jesus, don’t get me started on that. How the hell is this film considered better than AVTAK? How?
6. For Your Eyes Only
Another fine entry from Moore. Nothing wrong with this one (well except Bibi).
And the 'Blofeld' part of the PTS. And destroying the very thing he was sent to retrieve. And the ridiculous 'revenge is bad' speech. And Maggie & Dennis thanking a parrot. Yeah, AND Bibi.
Oh please, a simple over-dubbed Tarzan yell is so much easier to deal with than all of that...
And Live & Let Die is a really good movie, I just *WISH* they had *AT LEAST* shown blood all over after Kananga popped! That would have balanced the ridiculous ballooning to a degree.
Comments
There are really no 'bad' Bond movies, only personal perceptions.
Okay, too generous here- "Here's to us" is just unforgivable. )

I know, but I was referring to the 50th anniversary set only being on Blu-ray. If that set were on standard DVD as well, they could probably get much more sales than BR alone. I know there is a full set that is on DVD, a little steep for me right now.
1: Brosnan 2: Craig 3: Moore 4: Dalton 5: Connery and 6: Lazenby
Yep, that's the beauty of bond fans
As for LALD... To be honest nostalgia plays a big part in it for me. I get plenty of enjoyment from watching it every time

1 - Moore, 2 - Dalton, 3 - Craig, 4 - Connery, 5 - Brosnan, 6 - Lazenby
It'll be interesting to see where you rank TB this time... :v
#1.TLD/LTK 2.TND 3.GF 4.GE 5.DN 6.FYEO 7.FRWL 8.TMWTGG 9.TWINE 10.YOLT/QOS
Well, it's less of a case of softening to DAD, but more a case of disliking a certain one even more
Regarding TB... Not re-watched that one yet. I'll keep you all posted. I'm looking forward to re-ranking them all :007)
1 - Moore, 2 - Dalton, 3 - Craig, 4 - Connery, 5 - Brosnan, 6 - Lazenby
Actually I'm not sure now... DAD might be at the bottom afterall. I can't decide. It's between that and Moonraker anyway...

That is exactly it. I love the Moore films, but I love the Connery films in a different way... and love the Dalton films in another different way. It's so hard to rank them because we love them for different reasons.
1 - Moore, 2 - Dalton, 3 - Craig, 4 - Connery, 5 - Brosnan, 6 - Lazenby
#1.TLD/LTK 2.TND 3.GF 4.GE 5.DN 6.FYEO 7.FRWL 8.TMWTGG 9.TWINE 10.YOLT/QOS
Haha, i have a soft spot for Moonraker. Drax is one of my fave villains and the speedboat chase, skydiving, locations and score are all awesome IMO. I even like the space scenes!
I do like TND bit Carver really put this down the list (along with the 7 series).
The Best. I forgive their faults and have to make an effort not to grin through the entirety of the films.
Good. I still like you, but there are some massive issues that means it will never be love.
*reaches for the tissues*

I'm sorry. It probably shouldn't be. It probably needs its own separate category! It has more redeeming features than the others in that group. I like Zukovsky's appearance, the x-ray glasses and a few other things.

Wow that is far too deep for me to properly process on a Sunday afternoon ) I'm gonna have to go away and think about that...
Wow, and I though I was hard on some movies.... I actually don't think of QoS as an actual move as much as a deleted last third of CR that we got to see much later, and as such, wasn't all that bad...

I don't know, I could just never stand it to be honest but I'll give it a rewatch definatley.
I guess that's not a bad way to think of it. But even then, I would see it as a let down to an otherwise great movie!
Perhaps I will come to like it more on repeated viewings. I want to think better of it (it does have some good moments) I'm just struggling to do so currently.

How?
1 - Moore, 2 - Dalton, 3 - Craig, 4 - Connery, 5 - Brosnan, 6 - Lazenby
Oh please, a simple over-dubbed Tarzan yell is so much easier to deal with than all of that...
And Live & Let Die is a really good movie, I just *WISH* they had *AT LEAST* shown blood all over after Kananga popped! That would have balanced the ridiculous ballooning to a degree.
