We need to have more people input their rankings to this! TLD isn't the average number 1, it's just the least controversial Bond film. I'm probably responsible for LTK's drop, though I didn't rank it that low.
Here's an update to my list, with brief notes on each:
1 - LALD - Still my favourite, probably always will be
2 - AVTAK - I don't care about the 'flaws', they don't effect this very enjoyable film for me
3 - LTK - Went up a stop. Just a great movie
4 - OP - Went down a spot but still a favourite of mine
5 - SF - By far DC's best
6 - FYEO - Solid film
7 - GE - Went up a spot. Largely for Xenia and the Cuba scenes
8 - OHMSS - Great film, only let down by Lazenby
9 - DN - A great all-rounder, with the best bond girl
10 - DAF - Underrated. Very enjoyable, although a little odd, but in the good way
11 - TSWLM - Mainly for the Egypt scenes
12 - TLD - Consistent film, only let down by Kara
13 - YOLT - Can bore me at times, but when I'm in the mood for it I enjoy it
14 - TMWTGG - Mainly for Scaramanga and his island
15 - FRWL - Nothing wrong with this one, but I'm just not in love with it like so many are
16 - MR - Here's a shock - I've grown to like space. And I love the amazon temple. But I still don't like of the jokey Jaws stuff
17 - GF - It's a good film, but just average in bond-standards for me. Overrated {:)
18 - TWINE - Boring in places, but has a great villain in Elektra King
19 - TND - Again, bores me in places, but has some good bits
20 - CR - Just not for me, although I recognise it as a well-made film
21 - DAD - Has enjoyable bits, but too much bad stuff and bad CGI
22 - QOS - Same as CR, just not as well-made though
23 - TB - Has Fiona Volpe who is great, but apart from that, a bit of a snoozefest for me
^ enjoyment is what it's all about. a movie might not be the best from a technical or artistic standpoint but if it gives you the most fun thats all that matters
haha "enjoyment" is the word
when I said I didn't enjoy SF as much as TB for example,I got told that I am hating on recent things (DC's movies) )
but anyway it's all forgiven and forgitten
"You see Mr.Bond, you can't kill my dreams...but my dreams can kill you.Time to face destiny" - "Time to face gravity"
1. FRWL - Love the pure espionage feel. The constant tension and threat of danger is used superbly.
2. GF - Easily the most entertaining. Brilliant villain, memorable images and Connery at his best.
3. GE - The best action for me and blends serious with light-hearted well, great casting too.
4. TLD - Really enjoy the more spy-based approach and find it really entertaining.
5. CR - Great back to basics with a gripping story and some brilliant action.
6. OHMSS - Has everything a great Bond film should with only a few flaws.
7. LTK - Arguably the best Bond performance of the lot by Dalton. Love the darker tone too.
8. SF - Reminded me of GF with a modern twist, very enjoyable and great turn by Craig.
9. DN - Most down to Earth film, the story, acting and thrills are all solid throughout.
10. FYEO - Nice return to basics from Moore who is terrific. Maybe a touch slow, but I like the serious tone.
11. TSWLM - Moore's best OTT entry. Weak villain aside, the characters are fun and the action is solid.
12. LALD - Goofy and a bit odd, but full of energy and packed with memorable villains.
13. TND - A lot of bad stuff, but great pure entertainment and I like Brosnan here too.
14. TB - Like the exotic tone and Connery's good fun, but really slow and the underwater scenes bog it down.
15. TWINE - Enjoyed the more serious approach and Elektra is great, but it really could and should have been better.
16.OP - Very goofy in places and the characters are bland, but still good fun throughout.
17. DAD - Yeah its really daft with Berry being dreadful and a useless villain, but I still found it fun.
18. MR - Way too OTT and has too many ridiculous moments to name. Has some value for how enjoyably silly it is.
19. YOLT - Connery clearly can't be bothered, the story is weak, the action is weak and Blofeld is used poorly.
20. TMWTGG - Lee is memorable. Yet its very boring and some of the writing is terrible.
21. QOS - Looks like it was edited by a maniac. Characters are all dull as dishwater and its just not entertaining.
22. AVTAK - Completely wasted Walken and Moore looks ancient. Lots of cringe-worthy moments too.
23. DAF - Mostly campy nonsense, Connery doesn't care and a terrible Blofeld.
Pure undiluted 'enjoyment'?
Then I humbly submit that Octopussy is the all-time perfect Bond movie.

For these reasons, OP has moved up a lot for me over the years. I used to not find it well-paced, but by the fifth time I watched it I started to really like it. Roger Moore's performance is one of his best. The Tarzan yell doesn't bring the film down for me, but there's no defending it either.

That's why I have it at number 6. Serious and fun at the same time |)
Tier 1 - Favourite films of all time, enjoy the hell out of them
LALD, AVTAK, LTK, OP
Tier 2 - Very strong films and very enjoyable
SF, FYEO
Tier 3 - A few issues, but mostly brilliant films
GE, OHMSS, DN, DAF
Tier 4 - Pretty good
TSWLM, TLD, TMWTGG
Tier 5 - Good films but not my favourites
YOLT, FRWL, MR
Tier 6 - Not my cup of tea in terms of bond, but still good films in their own right
GF, TWINE, TND
Tier 7 - Passable films, but the weaker bonds for me
CR, DAD, QOS, TB
DAF a brilliant film and CR passible but weaker. Gotta love the diversity among fans !
I'd love to hear some explaining on that though
I basically rank the films on how much enjoyment I get out of them, rather than how well they're technically made. I recognise CR as a very well made film, but even so, it just doesn't do much for me. There's lots I like (like the poison scene and the torture scene), but not much that I love. DAF on the other hand is far from a perfectly made film. But there are lots of things I love. For example, the moon buggy chase, bond climbing atop the whytehouse, wint and kidd, some of the locations, the oil rig.
Having said that, I enjoy every bond film, and nothing ranks lower than a 7/10 for me.
My top 4 could literally be in any order, and I'm in the process of switching them and trying to decide where they rank. )
Another update. Marks out of 10 included, with notes:
1 - AVTAK - I don't care what anyone says. And the "flaws" don't bother me. This film has my favourite things in it - Max Zorin, the blimp, the golden gate bridge fight, the mine sequence, the city hall fire with the death of howe, the fire engine chase. I didn't find it too gaggy, and I'm also not bothered by Moore's age. Infact, he gave a pretty damn good performance. The first half is a bit slow, but the second half seriously makes up for it. 10/10
2 - OP - Everything about this film is perfect (except the Tarzan yell). It is a film that grabs you from start to finish. Exotic locations, great charismatic villain, gripping action. And Moore dressed in a clown suit diffusing a bomb, which I adore. 10/10
3 - LTK - Extremely strong entry. A little different but it works excellently. One of the best villains of the series. Great action and brilliant feel. 10/10
4 - LALD - Largely nostaliga-driven, which explains why it's fallen a few spots. I still love it though, and will always be a fan of the voodoo stuff. I'm sentimental about it, but still, 10/10
5 - FYEO - VERY strong film. It's basically an all-rounder - with a brilliant climax with Moore climbing the cliff. I love the shark/rope scene with Kristatos. Some great moments here. 9.5/10
6 - SF - By far DC's best film. One of the best villains, and tremendous, epic feel. Great finale in Scotland. Emotional when M dies. 9.5/10
7 - OHMSS - Not much wrong with this one, and I've even warmed to Lazenby's performance. Love Piz Gloria as a location. Good action. 9/10
8 - GE - Excellent group of villains. Lots of nostalgia. Amazing Cuba scenes. Xenia Onatopp a personal favourite female villain. 9/10
9 - DN - A brilliant way to start the series. It may be low on action, but it still works, and the feel is great. The best bond girl IMO, and a great performance by Connery. Love the location of crab key. 9/10
10 - DAF - An underrated film IMO. I can see the flaws, but I just find myself enjoying it immensely nonetheless. Favourite scenes are the moon buggy chase, and bond climbing atop the Whytehouse. Wint and Kidd are brilliant. Good finale on the oil rig. The story is a little confusing, but that doesn't really bother me. 9/10
11 - TMWTGG - This film always fluctuates with me. But I've come to the conclusion that I just loved certain aspects of it, which means it has to rank here. Scaramanga and his island make this film for me. 8.5/10
12 - TSWLM - Of two minds on this one - I adore the Egypt scenes. But the liparus scenes drag. And XXX is wooden to me. Still though, overall it is another good effort. 8.5/10
13 - TLD - A solid film, but it is let down by Kara for me. Weak villains, but I've learned to accept them (well, not Whittaker). Great performance by Dalton. Really like the Afghanistan scenes and, especially, the fight with bond and Necros hanging from the plane's net. 8.5/10
14 - YOLT - Drags in places, but the bits I love I REALLY love. Highlight is the volcano lair. And the little nellie sequence is pretty cool. 8/10
15 - FRWL - The fight between bond and Grant on the train basically makes this film for me. Overall it's a solid film, although a lot of it drags for me - but the fight mentioned more than makes up for it. 8/10
16 - MR - Used to dislike space, but I've come to accept, and even like it. It's different, but it's fun. I'm not a fan of the Jaws love scenes, but there's lots to like still. Cable cart scene is good, and I love the amazon temple HQ. 7.5/10
17 - TWINE - Elektra King makes the film for me. The maiden's tower scenes are good, as is the pipeline scene. A lot of the film is boring to me though. Overall it gets a 7/10
18 - TND - On par with TWINE. There are some great scenes - the ripping of the carver banner, and the free-fall. But again, a lot of the film bores me. Elliot Carver is a good villain, I used to hate him but I've grown to like him now. 7/10
19 - GF - Nothing wrong with this one. But at the same time, it is so overrated for me. I don't cite it as one of the best, nevermind the very best. Even so though, good story and some good scenes at fort knox. 7/10
20 - CR - Again, nothing wrong with it. But as a bond film it doesn't do much for me. I technically recognise it as a well-made film though. Highlights are the poison scene and the torture scene. 7/10
21 - DAD - Many issues, such as the CGI and the matrixy-sequences. Overall it is obviously not a strong bond film, but I still get some enjoyment out of it. And I like the ice palace and Graves. 7/10
22 - QOS - Didn't do much for me as a bond film. Still some good aspects though, such as the fire climax, DC's performance, and Camille. Didn't like the shakey camera though. But overall, still a good film. 7/10
23 - TB - The best score. Really adds to the film. Fiona Volpe is great, and Connery does a good performance. But overall this is my least favourite bond film purely because it keeps my interest the least. Nothing bad. But just a bit too slow, and too much underwater stuff. Still though, it's a bond film and still gets a 7/10.
