Bandwidth suggestion

Not trying to stir up anything but if bandwidth is an issue, I suggest cutting down to threads only being active 2 months. You have threads here dating back to 2003. Are those really needed?

    Moving this out of the CR forum. That said, two months is a pretty short period of time. We've had some very good, worthwhile topics go dormant for a few months and then brought back.

    True. Anyway, if we did what this guy suggests, it would mean closing down threads like Random Chat and Doctor Who. Also, I know Hardyboy here is a particular fan of Izabella stuff! :D
    Relax darling, I'm on top of the situation -{

    Plus this wouldn't extensively save bandwidth. I expect very few people actually view those topics. Bandwidth is only used when things are transfered from the server to your screen.

    Therefore a topic that is not viewed doesn't use any bandwidth. It does however use database space.

    Right so we should stop looking at threads. Ok from now on I shall simply admire the colours of the "Logged in" screen. Sorry, sarcasm is the only way I can keep people at a distance from me, or something along those lines anyway!

    lol enjoy that screen I like it although it's not my favourite on the site!

    Obviously if I didn't want people using the site i'd take it down! I was just explaining how bandwidth works in relation tot he idea!

    I have no plans to limit use or remove useful topics so fear not :D

    That's what he tells us, but just check out the Superado's Resignation topic for the truth... He's plotting, big time...

    Heh "I wish" says the invincible worker in the evil cave. :)

    I won't say how much ajb007.co.uk uses, that's up to SiCo to say, but I'm pretty relaxed about how much bandwidth ajb007.co.uk uses/varies.

    All I will say is it's not as bigger issue as it was before in terms of cash, primarily thanks to the advertising, which doesn't quite cover the cost but it all helps keep the mighty ship sailing. I'm sure I'll be informed if we use more than is appropriate!!

    As for the actual amount, it's quite high! Thanks to Doc_Z for keeping us going at a fair price!
