the same situation where the interesting Bondgirl is the one who gets killed off is true for the preceding film as well
Teri Hatchers character is one of the more interesting Bondgirls, esp as M specifically assigns Bond to seduce her knowing they had a history, and she ends up dead because 007 did his job
Michelle Yeow may not speak English well enough to make her character interesting, but that handcuff scene was the best action sequence in all the Brosnan films
I think YOLT had the same situation, Kissy Suzukis character was so thoroughly rewritten for the film that she did not seem worthy of being the girl at the closing credits
and you know in the book Goldfinger
Pussy Galore shows up three chapters from the end and does not even interact meaningfully with our hero until she slips him the note on the plane - maybe she realised she was on her way to Moscow and decided to switch sides? Fleming doesnt even explain
in the movie Goldfinger Bond seduces her cuz thats his strategy to sve the world, his standard strategy in most films, and why M assigns him to seduce an old girlfriend in TND
anyway aside from the Bird With One Wing Down there are other qualities in the FlemingGirls: Tiffany Case knows how to cheat at cards at least as well as 007, and Honey Rider is a scubadiver with a selftaught knowledge of local ecology worthy of a PhD, qualities we know Mr Fleming finds hot
Honey also embodies an image of colonial decadence shared with Solitaire and the Havelock daughter, a recurring theme in the books

Ny problem with Paris is that Bond's history with her wasn't fully explained. Just because I am told that they once dated doesn't make me care about her. I would have liked it if Paris had played a much bigger role in TND (which sees her and Bond rekindling their love) before being killed halfway through.
but that handcuff scene was the best action sequence in all the Brosnan films
It was very good, but the best action sequence in all the Brosnan films? Not necessarily. I loved the skiing scene in TWINE and GE had several terrific action scenes as well.
in the movie Goldfinger Bond seduces her cuz thats his strategy to sve the world, his standard strategy in most films,
I would assume that there is another reason why Bond seduced Pussy.
"He’s a man way out there in the blue, riding on a smile and a shoeshine. And when they start not smiling back—that’s an earthquake. and then you get yourself a couple of spots on your hat, and you’re finished. Nobody dast blame this man. A salesman is got to dream, boy. It comes with the territory." Death of a Salesman

it is good, its forgettable though. It also seems un-bondish and too written, its not really classy, or bondy, its like the chase in Terminator 2 almost.

While I don't think it's a masterpiece, what makes you think it's un-Bondian?

alot of the stuff done is done by Wai Lin, Bond just shoots everything and destroys everything, there are too many thrills and spills!
everything is too cliche.
they bike along the roof and it collapses, they bike past fireworks and they explode, they bike through a room and theres a lady showering, these are cool and fun but they arnt done with bonds class. scenes like this in other Bond Movies are done much better. eg. the chase ice chase in DAD with the ejector seat etc, the boat chase in TWINE with bond fixing his tie underwater etc they are very bondish.
TND just doesnt do it for me, its fun to watch but it doesnt feel like a bond movie.

this is true, Bonds just dragged along while Michelle Yeoh leads the action for that huge sequence
but for me, that was the one thing I remembered clearly after walking out of that movie, I didnt otherwise like the movie much the 1st time I saw it
I felt that if theyd chopped out everything escept the handcuff scene that would have been an awesome movie, but Im impressed by that sort of elaboratley choreographed physical stuntwork, its a rarity in these days of all-encompassing special effects
it was only after rewatching it years later that I saw the sequence of events involving the Desperate Housewife was really pretty interesting, or had the scriptpotential to be
given Bonds guilt over the deaths of Tracy and Vesper the situation M put him in this time should have been a headtrip royale, and M assigns him this job because shes seen Goldfinger and Thunderball and knows James Bond always saves the world by sleeping with the villains lady - the same M who dissed him as a sexist in their first meeting now appreciates the world requires his special talent if it is to survive
Some people say that about all the Brosnan entries.
Some people say that about all the Bond films.
Not on this site I hope.

And the girl wasnt in the shower, I have a feeling she was in the middle of something else.

Quite. B-)
