Re-watched OP today, and the thought occured to me that Bond must have been pretty damn close to death when he's hanging on to the plane as it turns upside down.
Another moment in OP, worth a mention, is disarming the bomb.
MR PTS springs to mind too, as Bond is falling through the sky.
AVTAK golden gate bridge fight also deserves a mention.
But finally, and I agree with some others on this, I would say that the number 1 closest to death moment for Bond is the laser in GF. Bond would have been had if he didn't mention operation grandslam.

Bond has come close to dying so many times - the most recent incident being nearly poisoned and the car crash in CASINO ROYALE - that I cannot even keep count.

That's a great example. {[] I would go for the cremation scene from DAF. Bond had no means of escape and if he hadn't been rescued, he would most certainly have died.
