I have to add Kate Hudson to the list of actresses I don't think are all that great looking. She is OK, just nothing special.

Having reread this thread I am shocked that Marilyn Monroe was mentioned. I think she is the sexiest woman on film ever.

I'm also quite shocked. While I don't agree that Marilyin was the sexiest woman ever on film, I definitely agree that she was extraordinarily sexy. :D In fact I would go even further and say that she was a goddess. :D What I love about her is not so much that she was physically beautiful (While I do think she was good looking, it's not why I regard her as a goddess :D), but because she had an aura, a grace and a star quality that few other actresses had.

Don't get me wrong, I do think she was physically beautiful (even though I generally don't like blondes.) However there are many women whom IMO are vastly more physically beautiful than Marilyn, yet don't come across as goddesses to me. Basically what I'm saying is that she had it. :D

BTW, one actress who IMO is incredibly overrated when it comes to looks is Pamela Anderson. Similarly to Paris Hilton, I think that Pamela Anderson is extremely unattractive. I am aware of why some guys do find her attractive, ;) but there is nothing about her that appeals to me at all. :#

OK so Demme Moor, way over rated and if she was so hot why hang with a boy half her age let alone marry him.

I actually think that Demi Moore is very hot. :D I am very envious of Ashton Kutcher, although IMO she can do alot better than him. :v

Attractiveness and sexy-ness do not always coincide. I have met a number of women I thought were sexy, but by the canons of beauty, they did not appear remarkable.

Never forget that SMART is also SEXY. It all has to do with that Darwin thing again,.....you know....natural selection.

:v You really know how to hurt a guy. :# (GI Jane BTW had a pretty good concept IMO but was poorly executed, however that is a discussion for another thread. ;) )

Seriously, when I think of Demi Moore's beauty, I think of Ghost, A Few Good Men, Ghost and did I mention Ghost? :D

OK I never said she was dog ugly. I just don't think that she is as hot as everyone makes out. In GI Jane before she cuts off all her hair.

Saw a picture of Paris Hilton this morning and for the life of me I don't see how anyone thinks she is attractive. Add her lack of looks with her obnoxious personality and you get a 2 on the 1 to 10 scale.
  • NightshooterNightshooter In bed with SolitairePosts: 2,917MI6 Agent
Ok, Barry, we all hate Paris Hilton, but she DEFINITELY isn't a two.
  • LexiLexi LondonPosts: 3,000MI6 Agent
Blimey...this thread is like a small but important window into the minds and reasonings of you boys....

However...it's very refreshing to hear of your distaste of Paris Hilton...I was always under the impression that her "just had sex" eyes were an instant turn on...but I guess not. (Good!)

Anyway, I thought I would add my overrated men on the list.

    1. Tom Cruise. Way too short for starters, but although fairly good looking, I just don't like him. And don't get me started on the Scientology stuff
    2. Brad Pitt. Honestly, I just don't get the appeal of him, AT ALL.
    3. George Clooney. Okay so he is 'classically' good looking, but his personality and his obvious knowledge he is this 'God' with woman, is the biggest turn off.
    4. Colin Farrel. Too dirty looking and just not that good looking.

then Ashtun Kutcher, Jake Gyllenhall, Jude Law, Matthew McConaughey.

I can honestly say it's personality for me, as well as eyes. Perhaps that's why there are not that many "Hollywood" actors that appeal, they are all far to "aware" of how good looking they are, and that for me is a definite turn off.

Bo Derek. For some unknown reason, she still thinks she has a potential market in films. What's really scary is that she seems to pop up in a Playboy pictorial every 10 years or so. Please God, take me before the year 2020.

Looking at the names you've mentioned, I'm rather suprised. I thought it was a universal law of sisterhood to love Brad Pitt. ;)

Do you like Johnny Depp and Gerald Butler? (I'm only curious) ;)

Personally, I think she's a -10. I find her to be among the least attractive people around and no score is too low for her.

As for Brad Pitt, well this sister has decided not to follow the group. I'll leave him for the rest of them :D

Johnny Depp...to be honest, not a lot. But that's not because he thinks he's hot...he's just not my type.
Gerald Butler, well looking at his photo, I have to say he is very nice, but, I would have to see him in a film, or an interview.

Actors I do like, are Daniel Craig (like most people don't know that! :D )
Sean Bean, but he's a bit of a dark horse, and recent press has not shed him in such great light.
Ray Stevenson, now he is lovely.
    and Jonathan Cake.
...oh and James Nesbit...he's always had that certain something, can't put my finger on it. It's his eyes I think, and the fact that he's a realy lovely guy.

To Lexi, something tells me you might be a fan of Rome as per two of your selections. Our own Lady Rose loves Butler, check out 300 or Phantom of the Opera sometime. B-)

And don't worry about Sir Miles, he always gets like this around premiere time. I blame the 23 theatrical viewings ... :D {:)

and 300 is on my list of movies to watch. Perhaps it's now gone up a notch of priorities :v

I am resurrecting this thread, just so I can vent about Kim Kardashian. First off, I don't think she looks that hot, she isn't ugly, just not as hot as some would make her out to be. Second, what the hell did this woman ever do to become famous, other than appear in a sex tape. Now she is making paid public appearnces, has a perfume she is endorsing and engaging in other self promotional activities. She doesn't act, she doesn't sing, other than dating African-American singers and football players, I honestly don't know what she does. Yet, she is on covers of magazines and making guest appearances on television talk shows like we should care what she has to say. I hate the celebrity culture where people are famous just for being famous. X-(

I'm glad this got ressurected, I think too many actresses nowadays are highly overrated in both looks and talent. Here are a couple I think are really overrated.

    - Jennifer Anniston
    - Paris Hilton
    - Jessie Wallace (I don't know how she won sexiest female at the soap awards so many times)
    - Halle Berry
    - Julia Roberts
    - Kate Moss
    - Naomi Campbell
    - Most soap actresses, especially hollyoaks women
    - Girls Aloud

That's just a few I belive worthy of a mention.

I think once actresses and celebrities become aware of how 'good looking' people think they are then they immediatley lose points in my book, as I'm sure other people will agree.
