YOLT-(Fantastic song...just love the string intro. :x) Goldfinger-(Soaring vocals...Bassey at her kickass best ) Thunderball-(Super evocative and fits the movie so well {[]) DAF-(Another Bassey classic) CR ~ 1967-(hate the film but the theme is GREAT..classic Burt Bacharach & Herb Albert ) Goldeneye-(Has a classic feel to it) FRWL-(I also like the closing theme Matt did for Stingray ) MWTGG-(Hmmm, more females than males..I see a pattern emerging here) Live & Let Die(Watched this again tonight...reminded me how good this theme is) FYEO-(Ahhh, lovely Sheena :x)
BUT my all time fav. has to be The James Bond theme...pure, simple and immediately sends you into the that James Bond world.:007) -{
As an aside my 3 fav. soundtracks are YOLT / Goldfinger and Thunderball. {[]
{[] Good choices, KissyLover, but one little correction- the Stingray song was sung by one Gary Miller, not Matt Munro.
ofcourse you are correct...how stupid of me. Shows you how close their voices are in tone and quality and highlights how my memory can play tricks on me as age catches up. I'm happy though to see that someone else knows the song I'm talking about...not Bond but still cool.
Oh and I forgot one theme in my list so I did a revision...see previous post.
You Know My Name by Chris Cornell (Casino Royale)
The World is Not Enough (Garbage)
Thunderball (Tom Jones)
On Her Majesty's Secret Service (John Barry)
Goldeneye (Tina Turner)
My favorite theme songs would have to be: 1. From Russia with Love performed by Matt Munro; 2. You Know My Name performed by Chris Cornell (in Casino Royale).
1. Goldfinger 2. Skyfall 3. Goldeneye 4. The Spy Who Loved Me 5. OHMSS

"I never joke about my work, 007."
I love the song. Incredibly underrated in the series. Bassey's voice is outstanding.
Love Moonraker, too. While the classic hard-line 'brassy' ones like Goldfingah and AVTAK remain on the top ten, my vote is YOLT. It can be 'used' in the real world. Whenever I have an exciting adventure with beautiful locale, etc. YOLT in the head is perfect, with or without lyrics.

Sort of like when someone said NSNA was their favorite. The things you find out here!
I love the song as well, and Bassey too. I wouldn't call it underrated so much as overshadowed- its predecessors (GF,DAF) were just sooo good.
