At last, the James Bond Collector's Edition of the popular board game Monopoly will be released in June. In this version, players will have to buy, sell, or trade all of the 21 official James Bond films, including Casino Royale (2006)! The game also comes complete with six 007-themed pewter tokens: Oddjob's Bowler Hat, Rosa Klebb's Shoe, Aston Martin DB5 Car, The Q Boat, Little Nelly Helicopter, and Bond's Jetpack. I am definitely pre-ordering this game!

Well, it does say "Prototype subject to change" below the image, so the final version might be a bit more to your liking. Still, I'm more interested in what the board and game pieces will look like, and what the "Chance" and "Community Chest" cards will read. And the artwork will have to be pretty darned impressive to equal what darenhat created a while back, and which you can still see here.
And like HB I'm more interested in what's inside.

Look at the silhouette of Bond firing a gun above the 007 logo - thats craig's gunbarrel pose!
Plus the, er, community chest (is it? The large panels on the 'road' around the outside of the board) uses a silhouetted version of Craig's first publicity shot, oddly extrapolated as far as his legs.

I'll be sure to pick this up when it's available (if only to steal the tokens for my own game )

I'll pop down there after work tomorrow and pick it up!
It's retailing for $85 Australian, but I suspect you could get it for around $70-80 at some of the larger outlets.
Target Australia is having a much publised Toy Sale, and this product may be included into their range now.
Or of course, you could always wait until the Christmas sales, or even the Boxing Day sales.
I purchased the 007 Scene It? game for $50 Australian, and I haven't seen the price that low since!

The whole thing is just terrific, and evenly set out. I thought that it may have focused more on Connery or Brosnan, but this has a nice mix.
The pieces are very Bondian. The Lotus, Bowler Hat, the Acrostar from Octopussy, etc. Just great.
The only thing I thought was strange was the blurb about the Bond franchise on the back of the box. I wouldn't regard Bond as "Hollywood's" greatest film franchise. I think the closest EON has come to Hollywood was when they shot AVTAK in San Francisco.
Other than that, I've very happy with my latest purchase!
Now, let's bring on 007 Trivial Pursuit!

I am also impressed with the monopoly, however I just have 1 small issue with it: Each Bond Girl and Bond Villain card have a different character pictured on it. After a couple times playing you will already know what the card will say before you land on the space. Other than that it's great!

I can't remember the last time I was this excited to play a board game(I usally play my Nintendo Gamecube and Gameboy adavance more.)
I played my first game against my 8 year sister, she insisted on plaing it with me as soon as it came.
By time we were finished playing I owned five films and two Bond cars, including the new Aston Martin DBS from Casino Royale.
This is one board game that I will definatly be playing with alot.
I certainly do.
