I think the poster is an abysmal failure (from a Star Trek standpoint)...but that may be exactly what they're looking for. I see strong efforts to actually hide the fact that it's a Star Trek movie...no obvious iconography, pallette, or familiar faces. Even the word's "Star Trek" are the faintest ones on the page. The only reason I knew this was a Star Trek poster is because the Star Trek site posted it on facebook. In a theater, I would have walked right on by thinking it was some generic Tom Cruise sci-fi.

Star Trek Into Darkness will feature an appearance by the Klingons, director JJ Abrams has confirmed. "We had shot some stuff that had Klingons in (our first Star Trek film), and we cut the scene. It's a deleted scene on the DVD. But they're back in this one."
The UK release of Star Trek Into Darkness has been brought forward from the 17th to 9th May. Paramount Pictures has not yet revealed if the US release will also be brought forward. In US theatres, it is still set to open on the 17th May, with some screenings in IMAX theatres starting two days earlier.
