I know there's a script called The RAcvages of Time that's been knocking about - possibly hinting that the prize is the Philosopher's Stone.
But if this guy Koepp has written a whole new script, I'd really like it to be about Indy going after the ultimate archaeological prize - THE LOST CITY OF ATLANTIS! Wouldn't that be cool! They could discover that it's still inhabited and Indy could decide to stay there at the end of the film as it sinks again, thus immortalising him forever.
A coworker and I were discussing Harrison Ford yesterday, and of course, the conversation pivoted on the idea of whether or not he was too old. There were moments in Firewall that seemed ludicrous with an aging Ford swinging through windows, but I contended that it was not because the character was older, but because the character was established as more brains than brawn. The thing that Indiana Jones has going for him is that we as the audience fully expect the character to be action-oriented, regardless of age. I, too, am excited to see what 2008 has to bring us!

Now this is scary. . .When Spielberg and Lucas deal with children/young adults they tend to get just. . .icky. The little ones are so precocious that you'll start to think child abuse is a good idea (Short Round, Jake Lloyd's Anakin) and the older teens are whiny pains (the big brother in E.T., the big sister in Poltergeist, the cast of Goonies, Hayden Christensen's Anakin). If Shia Le Beouf is the Son of Indy I hope he isn't the mold of the usual Lucasberg spawn.

Ford: Great. Blanchett: Intriguing. Possibility of Connery and Winstone: Sublime. LeBeouf: Scary. I don't say this because of his acting abilities or his "teen heartthrob" image (I honestly don't know that much about him--he could be a great actor for all I know), but because of the afore-mentioned possibility that he's the son of Indy. It's a story that pretty well writes itself: long separation between father and son, son has no desire to associate himself with father, major crisis brings father and son together, father and son end up with newfound respect for one another. Gads!
Let me play with a possibility, though. Some time back Lucas mentioned that the plot of Indy IV centers around an idea that is pretty old and which, at first glance, people might find hackneyed. Could it be, then, that Indy will go in quest of the Fountain of Youth? Maybe he'll discover it and spend a good portion of the movie--mainly the action part--in the body of Mr. LeBeouf?
Gawd. . .what a horrible scenario! Maybe the "son of Indy" idea isn't so bad after all.
And, just musing: any chance that John Rhys Davies will return as Sallah? And might there be an explanation for how Indy lost his eye? (The ancient Indy wore an eyepatch in the Young Indiana Jones series.)

Got to say, Lucas is somewhat pot kettle, his Star Wars prequels were pretty dire by all accounts. Shame he didn't show such discernment then.
If you'd spent a year working on a script and George Lucas of all people told you it was rubbish you'd probably have the hump ) I hope Spielberg is driving this as much as Lucas. I saw Speilberg interviewed on the BBC last year and he said he wouldn't shoot a frame of Indy 4 until he was convinced he could deliver the ultimate popcorn experience.

I'm sure Darabont isn't the only victim of Lucas's bizarre whims. I believe Jeb Stuart also took a stab at the character and failed to impress. I consider Stuart and Darabont to be fine craftsmen in regards to screenwriting.

I think 'vague' would be the key word ) I can't vouch for that site but they do seem to be connected to George Lucas. The scant information does suggest that all Indy boxes will be ticked next year. I'm looking forward to the teaser trailer already.
I don't believe he's seen the script for a second. 'Indiana Jones 4 features a scene involving a cave'?! Why on Earth would you waste some precious life force writing that onto the internet unless you were making it up?!
I don't know anything about Supershadow, so I can't vouch to the veracity of him having really read the script. It sounds like the existing script is more formulaic than original based on these vague descriptions. You mean to tell me that the movie is going to open with a dissolve from the paramount logo? >gasps with shock< That article should have spoiler tags all over it. 8-)
