1) What IS the Legacy Edition?
2) Why does Sean look like George Dubya?
3) When do we get non-Bond figures again?
2) His face looks fat for some reason...
3) I am guessing they just wanted to kickstart whatever they are now changing about the Bond figs with Connery before moving onto the rest. I think they are making a "figure reboot" if you will, as they've taken such a long time to produce any new figs, and they want to start with Bond.
Not abother reboot! If I know Sideshow (and I do to some degree), this would mean that they'll be reissuing the same figures (Tee Hee, Sanchez, Scaramanga, etc.) in a different box or a base with slightly different graphics. B-) I just hope Sideshow returns to producing figures that are affordable to mortals as well without getting a mortgage on my house.
1) I suspect it's a category Sideshow have come up with to cover figures that aren't related to a particular film.
2) It isn't the best sculpt ... or perhaps it's poor lighting?
3) If, in fact, we're looking at a Legacy series, this could bode well for M or Leiter figures.
There seem to be three figures at most for any given title so I dont know that we'll ever see a Goldfinger. Still, it does leave us room for a Largo or possibly a Rik van Nutter Leiter.
As much as some folks seem to be clamoring for Sideshow to cover more of the Bond girls, I'd just as soon they didn't unless they could work in collaboration with a firm who really understands the female form; the heroines to date have been fairly disappointing.
Holy s**t. These are cool, and I've got it bad. Now I'm going to need curio cabinets... B-)

And for all the Star Wars fans here a quarter-scale Boba Fett too!
If you can find one of these, even in a 'loose' (box has been opened) condition, I'd advise you to go for it. There's one on ebay right now going for $50.00 (a lot less than what I paid, but mine is mint, in a factory sealed, flawless box). There are only 3,000 of these worldwide; IMHO, every serious Bond/Sideshow fan should have one...
One oddity: It is boxed as a TSWLM figure, and Llewelyn's sculpt makes him look to be the right age for that movie, but he comes with the briefcase from FRWL---sniper rifle, knife, gold sovereigns and all. Go figure. ?:)
I am such a geek. ;% B-)

Where'd you get all this info from??
I've been looking for a normally priced Q for a LONG time. I actually was looking for a well priced Jaws, too, and finally found one through a forum- I ended up paying less than the original $50, which was fantastic!

Still, I'll likely delve into the 'Legacy Collection' 12" figures as well, in addition to getting any of the others I can get my hands on.
And it's only a matter of time, I'm sure, until poor Danny shows up in both 12" and 18" formats...

It certainly suffers by comparison to the premium format, 1/4 scale Connery figure (which is simply stunning), but it still looks pretty good. Same with the new Brosnan. They're going to get my $$...

The premium format figures are much more expensive: $225 to $249 straight from Sideshow, and anywhere from $175 to $325 on ebay, depending on condition and availability. Expensive, sure---but IMHO you get your money's worth; tailored tuxedos, great detail right down to the veins in the figure's hands, the Omega on Brosnan's wrist, etc. Very cool. B-)
The 12" figures are far more reasonably priced---$40 new from Sideshow (if you can get the ones you want!), and as 'shooter said, $45 for the new 'Legacy' figures...but there are a lot of older figures out there...
I recently picked up a Roger Moore TMWTGG figure on ebay for about $16, plus $8 shipping. The figure had been displayed, so the box was no longer factory sealed, but it's in excellent condition and all the accessories are there, right down to the PPK, a champagne glass, champagne bottle and the wooden elephant which the kid on the river tried to sell to Bond in the movie! )
I also now have Desmond Llewelyn's Q from TSWLM, George Lazenby in his snowsuit from the finale of OHMSS...and Scaramanga is due in my mail any day, to compliment the Moore figure. I'll place them back to back, guns in hand, in an homage to the 'duel' scene... :007)
But the 12" figures, as cool as they are, to me are not too far removed from the classic G.I. Joe 12" figures in terms of overall presentation, despite the very good sculpts done by a pair of very talented artists on Sideshow's payroll, and the nifty accessories---Sean Connery's DN figure, if you can get one, comes with both the Beretta .25 and the Walther PPK...!
My ultimate goal is to have premium format figures of all six Bond actors on display---Connery and Brosnan are out, and Moore's coming this fall!---if my wife doesn't kill me first. B-)
Good luck, but be warned: Collecting these are incredibly addictive... :v

DOH!!
Loeffs' summary above is right on the money (especially the part about them becoming addictive). All I would add is that if you're interested in the ancillary characters as well as James Bond himself, then the 12" figures are the way to go since they offer a wider variety of characters. At this stage the Legacy and Premium editions are limited only to Bond himself. Also, at around $40 a pop, you can buy 5 or 6 12" figures for the price of one premium edition.
Brozzer is next...
These seem to be coming out in the same order as the premium format figures---do you suppose it's due to current commercial viability, as Sideshow sees it? If so, Moore will likely be #3...
One wonders when poor Danny will make his first Sideshow appearance---and in what format. Probably in 12"---still, with CR out this fall, I wonder if they've an ace up their sleeve. Certainly he'd get the nod, this year (or early next), over Dalton or Lazenby, regardless of format...?

If so, I'm poised to provide them exactly the sort of positive reinforcement such a B.F. Skinner-like stimulus* would demand...
*A little something for psychology students everywhere... :v )
For some reason, I think it's more likely that Craig will show up in the premium format first, since your point about the "Legacy" collection representing an actor's entire body of Bond work is a valid one...

Just scored the 12" Joseph Wiseman as Dr. No figure, factory sealed box, for $13.25 plus shipping...
