The sculpt of Dr.No is one of the finest Sideshow have done.Oluf w.Hartvigson was the person responsible and is a master of his craft. And Sideshow themselves have stated that the radiation suit was one of their fines 1/6 achievements.

The radiation suit was one of the greatest bonus ideas Sideshow packaged next to their suit, but if that's one of their finest achievements, than squeezing the doctor inside that suit is MY greatest success.

Got my Scaramanga figure today. The sculpt is average, but the accessories, including both the titular Golden Gun (assembled) and its individual components---plus the solex agitator---are very cool. Open the shirt---he's got the infamous third nipple ) I love it!
He's going to look great next to Roger Moore's TMWTGG figure on my shelf...sorry to gush, ;% but I'm new to this scene, and I'm having a good time...

One of the things I need to collect is a digital camera. ;% Don't have one of those yet, and with what I'm spending on Sideshow figures, it's hard to say when I will.
I really need one, though---when my premium format Connery arrives, I'll be compelled to show him to everybody; by then, he and I will be living in the garage, exiled by my lovely and long-suffering wife )
Attention Nightshooter: I got my Dr. No figure today. It's excellent, and a 'must have.' B-)

Dumb question, when purchasing these figures, is it important to get them factory sealed in the box, or do most people display them out of the box, thus making the box relatively pointless? Trying to educate myself before jumping in the water.
LoeffelholzThe United States, With LovePosts: 8,998Quartermasters
It all depends upon what your plans are. If you plan to display them, you can save a LOT of $$ by buying 'loose' figures---but you should always make sure you have the original box anyway, and make sure all the accessories are included.
If you just plan on buying them to 'have' them, with future resale---or bequeathing to heirs---on your mind, pay the extra $$ and get sealed boxes.
Sometimes, you can get very lucky (as I did with Dr. No) and get the best of both worlds---factory-sealed at bargain prices. It all depends upon ebay traffic during the auction---and whether or not the seller posts the item in multiple categories. If you search under 'Sideshow James Bond Figures,' you get a pretty small list. Key in 'James Bond,' though, and you get thousands of items, of all kinds---subdivided by category. Dr. No was simply listed under '007.' Go figure---but it kept traffic down, and I was able to pounce on it.
Hope this helps. Have fun! {[]

Just pre-ordered legacy Brozzer, same price as Connery. He also comes with two guns- the PPK and P99 as he used both, which is a nice idea. I love the suit as well. But it isn't his TWINE suit- that one was a three button suit, I'm pretty sure.

I have a burning question of the utmost importance. OK, not really but still it niggles. When looking at the new Brosnan legacy figure complete with poker chip (!?) and a "fully articulated body with 30+ points of articulation", I noticed his "expertly tailored fabric costume" had three pockets on the bottom of his jacket. Three pockets? Did his suit jacket in TWINE really have three pockets and if so -- why? Was it a homage to Scaramanga's third nipple?

I highly doubt it ) But a good question, which begs a close re-examination of TWINE---although the Legacy editions claim to focus on the iconic appearance of particular actors, versus Bond in a particular film. I wonder if they mean one breast pocket, and two hip pockets? That's the case with many suit-jackets...

Well if we count the one on top for his handkerchief (which any true gentleman should have even if it's just to wipe off his gun or strangle/chloroform someone) that would be a total of four. There are three pockets -- or at least pocket flaps on the bottom of his jacket.

That is very common in men's suits. Did Brosnan ever wear a suit with that feature, though? Not that I know of. As I said, Brosnan's TWINE suit was a three button, not a two button as this one appears to be. So, really, it isn't actually modeled after his TWINE suit, or at least not accurately. I actually wish they were more accurate to the original outfit.
Three pockets? Did his suit jacket in TWINE really have three pockets three and if so -- why?

If you examine photos of any of the Bond actors in a business suit or blazer, you will note three pockets ... or more precisely, one side pocket at the left, two side pockets at the right, one directly above the other.
This third pocket is for tickets. While we've never seen James on a domestic train, it's considered quite a sign of upper-class distinction to have a pocket dedicated to the carrying of one's first class coach compartment tickets. On some level, I would expect it's intended as a non-verbal indicator of Bond's position, upbringing, etc.
Though in decades past I was known for my sartorial spelndor, I actually learned this from Dressed to Kill, a terrific book that offers a look not simply at what 007 has worn over the years, but an overall history of men's fashion in the UK post-WWII thus providing a more complete context. (Seriously, you wouldn't think so, but this book gives unique insight into Bond's character.)
I've been watching these films for decades and have never noticed the third "ticket" pocket on any Bond suit. I now have something new to look out for.

At least they finally put Rog in a tux! Seriously, though, it looks like Sideshow is using the same heads for these "Legacy" figures as they did for earlier ones. I sincerely hope these are prototypes and that we'll get some original sculpts!

You may be onto something about these photos being of a prototype, Hardy; the accessories are said to include the PPK, but they've got him holding the big magnum from LALD in one shot, and Scaramanga's golden gun in another...?
As I already have the TMWTGG Roger, and will soon have the LALD Roger, I think I'll hold off on this one for now...and save my $$$ for premium format Roger. :007)

I have the feeling Sideshow will use existing head sculpts as well. This is a cheap way to rehash the figures with different clothes. You also have no other options but to buy these from Sideshow direct.

I've pre-ordered all three of them now, even though they are old heads. The truth is, I like the old heads, and I wanted more myself anyway. Also, I'm very pleased with the new clothing.
By the way, has anybody noticed that not one of them has been posed with a PPK, yet all of them are supposed to get one? I'm hoping that this means a new PPK sculpt, as the old one was rather lacking. I switched all of my old ones to Dragon PPK's.
