I've never followed the book too closely (I think I have a stigma when it comes to mixing comics with religious themes). As such, when I first saw some images of the character, I thought the cut-off horns were goggles on his forehead. )

) Yeah, Tony I thought that as well. Thank you though.
In the 90s, it was somehow fashionable to mix religion and comics; not that I agreed with it but everyone was doing it.
Preacher, Spawn, Hellboy and I'm sure there were others. Like your stigma, I had reservations about it as well but the books turned out to be very entertaining to me so I left it at face value.

umm...so I THOUGHT I had commented on the wonderful art here, but apperintly I'm just delusional and suffering from lack of spelling knowlage (I'm tired XP)
So anywho, wanted to drop my two cents in and say that I love every single pic that has been posted here! YAY ARTISTS! *is looking very much forward to her art class next semester*
Ok this is probably old news to you Rogue Agent, and the rest of the comic fans, but I was getting stamps today at the post office and they offered me these:
I thought they were so cool, and I thought of you!
I take it you have some?

Yes, yes, 'Nique! I hope that you purchased them. {[]

You know Rogue, it's really annoying when you make a comment like that and then proceed to put up another masterpiece. It magnifies my already considerable feelings of inadequacy and lack of talent to even greater levels. Thanks buddy.
Seriously though, that is one crazy looking Joker (and I mean that in a good way). Nice job, as usual.

) Sorry to do that, buddy. I'm sure you could effortlessly kick my butt where computers are concerned... I'm quite remedial in that area.
If DC ever gave me the chance to do a Batman story, this is how I'd envision the Joker's looks. His ugliness on the outside as well as in as opposed to nicer looking renditions from other reputable artists.

You ought to do the Bond actors as Batman characters. Let's see, I'd vote for: Brosnan as Batman, Craig as Joker, Dalton as Two Face, Moore as The Penguin (going against tradition for that one; tall, edurite, and in a well fitted tux), Connery as Raas Al Guul and Lazenby as ... that's a tough one, maybe Riddler or Mr. Freeze. Whaddaya think?

Riddler, definitely. But we're still waiting for all of the Bonds AS Bonds, aren't we??
As for that Joker... creepy. Good creepy, of course... but creepy. I wouldn't want to meet him in a dark alleyway, that's for sure.
My favorite Joker is by far Tim Sale's (you know, in the Long Halloween). He is nightmare inducing.

Thanks, Night. Unfortunately, that piece was sold this weekend at the Baltimore Comic Con by a Los Angeles school teacher... Didn't hesitate at my price and just whipped out the cash... go figure.
I'm just getting back from the two-day affair and it's been a blast. I had the priveledge of sitting in-between to comic heavyweights such as Harry Roland and Tommy Castillo who has worked on LEGENDS OF THE DARK KNIGHT & EVIL ERNIE. We got along so well that Tommy gave me this early Christmas present that I'm putting in a frame soon. Check it out:

At Baltimore, I gotta a few Green Lantern requests from fans. I think I drew 3 Hal Jordans, a Kilowag, that a-hole Gardner and a couple of John Stewarts all in one day. Tony, you're the expert on the hero; is there something about GL that I didn't know? Is a movie or something on the horizon? It was weird... )
One of my students has requested a GL for his birthday this weekend. I think he's an even bigger GL fan than TonyDP is seeing that he brings the comics and wears 5 different tees of the Corps(One is a tee of those little blue guys )... Far be it from me not to make a kid's day a little brighter:
This look good enough to give him? He's a Stewart fan...

Thumbs up on the John Stewart GL; looks damned good to me. Nice job as usual Rogue.
As for GL's popularity, your guess is as good as mine. There isn't any movie due out as far as I know. I'd list the following as possible reasons for the enduring popularity:
1. cool costume
2. cool powers
3. there are literally thousands of GL's so there's bound to be one that fits everybody's tastes.
4. the GL Corps and the Guardians have a very rich and extensive history spanning billions of years that has actually been mapped out pretty thoroughly throughout the history of the books.
I've always gravitated towards spacebound superheros. My favorites were GL from DC and Captain Marvel (Mar Vell) from Marvel comics and, now that I think of it, their powers and backgrounds are that far off from one another.

Thanks, Tony.
Speaking of Mar-Vell, I happened to meet one of my comic book idols in Jim Starlin, this past weekend, who is famous for drawing CM, Warlock...AND KILLING ROBIN! )
It was indeed a priveledge for me to speak with him so extensively but the guy reminds me of a post-Easy Rider Dennis Hopper. Getting some tips from him clearly made me believe that Mr. Starlin did some heavy drugs during the 70s when he was one of just a few standouts ). No wonder he turned Adam Warlock into psychotic-schitzo during his run...and he killed Robin 2(not that there's anything wrong with that )
He doesn't really do con sketches but he went out of his way to doodle this up for me...
For those comic-impaired, it's Thanos. )

Oh yeah, some of Starlin's cosmic stories on Marvel were clearly the result of a few ... ahem ... "trips" shall we say.
I love the Thanos sketch; it's about as minimalist as you can get, but I saw it right away. Anybody even remotely familiar with the character can still easily make out who it is.

That's a great sketch {[] . Looks like the movie version which I thought was cool but I never read the comics.
Although I've never read the comics, I'm a big fan of the Mike Mignola art style used in his Hellboy comics.
I hope you don't mind, Rogue... but I didn't see the need to make a seperate "dump"!
