Either my scanner sucks or the board I worked this on was too reflective of the light to really appreciate the beauty of this little something I did to waste time. Well in any case, I hope you like it.

Very nice Rogue; but the thought of Supergirl looking so provocative is somehow disturbing. Maybe Helen Slater is to blame but I always pictured her as more wholesome. ;%

    Is Supergirl really from Cali?
Awesome work as always. Your artistry is much better than your photography, you know.

Oh, I thought Night was referring to my Yankees quick tv shot in response to his text. Hey, cameras aren't my calling I'll admit. :))

Glad you guys approve of the pic.

As far as Supergirl being wholesome, I always envisioned her as a closet vixen to put it in mild terms; just have a strong-uh, "back". :D.

I think that Wonder Woman's the frigid one... :v

She's definitely on the cold side in the books, from what little I've read. I always loved Lynda Carter's ( :x :x :x ) take on WW: warm, compassionate, always smiling ... and incredibly stacked.

Funny you brought that up, Tony- I remember having a dream a year or so ago where I came home from a hard day at work only to be greeted by Linda in full WW garb with the lasso in one hand and a martini in the other.

Then she says: "You've been a bad boy but you'll tell me the truth just as soon as I bind you with this..."

I thought that she meant the rope and she procedes to drop the ol' star-spangles...if you know what I mean... ;% :D ;%

    Classic.

Pretty vivid dream there Rogue, reminds me a little bit of some of the antics in the Dune novels (ever read any of those?). Sadly, my dreams are rarely so provocative. Lynda Carter will always be a favorite of my, right up there on a par with Halle Berry (now there's a crossover for you).

I don't think I'd mention that dream to the wife if I were you though; she might ditch the golden lasso in favor of the golden frying pan if you know what I mean.

Time to get my mind out of the gutter...

Dude, I'm a married man with kids, which puts me on par with Al Bundy. Dreaming is all I have left. :))

I told my wife that and she just laughed. We're not uptight or insecure about that sort of thing; if anything we sort of joke about it. :))

I never gave my spouse a reason to distrust me so it kinda works. Now if I were 25-26 again... :v

I notice you've already taught your boy to sign his works of art.

Great job by Rogue Jr. I'm really impressed that he can already draw something 3-dimensionally (ie: Starfire is flying toward you) so well and still keep all the proportions correct.

:( I think his handwriting is adorable.

He's a talented chip off the old block.

Here's that Cap I did at Baltimore now touched up with a pen and brush also I decided to do a little old school shading with Letratone. A very antiquated procedure nowadays for cartoonists that has been replaced by Photoshop but I bought alot of these sheets back in the early 90s when it was on the verge of extinction.

The pic is actually alot wider than the scanner permits and looks alot sharper than this image.

Maybe I'll sell this at Wizard World Texas if it gets enough interest.

    You guys... ;%

    Thanks for the kind words.

On a side note: Does anyone like Captain America anymore? I've posted this pic on quite a few sites and only one fanboy site responded to it with such zeal and multiple posts. I just find that odd... ?:)

For me Rogue, the mouth and chin look a bit odd. The features seem slightly exaggerated and even though Cap is the classic square jawed hero, all the artwork of him I've ever seen has those particular features as being more restrained and conservative. Does that make any sense?

What-you mean where I twisted his lip to look more ****ed? :)) Well that's what I was trying to convey. Your chin automatically distorts when you wrench your mouth.

IMO, outside of Supes, I've always thought that Cap had this magnificent chin at least from the artists I've seen do him..

Yeah, I've seen the conservative pics of him; just thought I'd shake it up abit. I was wondering because diehards fans of him loved it; maybe because it wasn't quite the norm...who knows... Yeah, it makes sense, buddy. ;)

On second glance, looking at the actual Cap picture and looking at the scan, my co-workers and myself think my scan is distorted or stretched. It looks very different from what I've drawn. I often wondered why some of my scans looked elongated or not vivid enough.

Is that possible? Is it time for a new scanner? ?:) Help.

You may want to check your software; make sure any settings to keep the original proportions are checked and that the scanner is properly calibrated.

As for Cap looking ****ed; that was my problem. When I read Cap ('70s and early '80s) he was almost as much of a boy scout as Superman. He couldn't even watch a porno movie at Rick Jones' bachelor party (he said he had something in his eye). :))

LOL! I think I have that issue. Isn't that the one when the Hulk was still intelligent? He wore a turtleneck on the cover, right? Glad that didn't take. :))

Yeah Cap is a boy scout; I just get tired of seeing him smile or look square all of the time. I don't even want to bring up those old Hostess cupcake ads 8-) .

Someone should write an arc where he sort of bears a more edgier side with a shorter fuse so to speak for a change.

On a side note, who should they cast for him in the upcoming movie? I say John Cena. Physically he's perfect... acting of course is another matter altogether. :D

Thank you so much for the advice, Tony; I'll check it out when I get home. Funny thing is, it was a woman in another cubicle across from me who pointed out the fact that the picture on this site looked stretched as she was looking through my portfolio at this particular piece in person. It's like the Supergirl pin-up, the scan truly didn't pick up the vividness for others to really appreciate it. It came out fuzzy.

I think that's the one. Cap brought what he thought was a nature movie to the party; it turned out to be a skin flick and Rick's fiancee was the star. When The Vision sees the movie, he turns to Rick and says "You must be very proud". :))

Sorry Rogue, but whenever a pro wrestler becomes attached to a movie (any movie) it automatically taints it for me. Having grown up during the heydeys of Bruno Sammartino, Baron Mikel Scicluna, and their ilk, these new guys just don't do it for me at all. The one exception is The Rock, who I will concede has buckets of charisma and talent. I don't have a good pick on who should play Cap though; I'm not up on the current talent pool at all. Whoever they get, I'm sure he'll be no worse than failed beach bums Reb Brown and Matt Salinger.
  • RogueAgentRogueAgent Speeding in the Tumbler...Posts: 3,676MI6 Agent
Reb Brown was a very good choice IMO; it was just everything else around him that made those films cheesy-including that decade. :))

I'm a big fan of Cap, even though I've only ever read one Cap magazine (the one right after he loses his shield, I think, and gets a new one from a museum). I agree with what Tony said, your Cap looks too mad. :D
