I totally disagree with recycling Fleming titles and using wildly different stories. Way too confusing, especially since many elements of his short stories were used in other movies (i.e. "Property Of A Lady" was used in "Octopussy"). The mix-and-match of Fleming books to movies has gotten ridiculous.
Also, the books have even been rehashed into original movies somewhat (i.e. "Moonraker" into "Die Another Day").
Better to just do original stories with original titles. Unless someone unearths the 'lost Fleming manuscripts', that source has been tapped dry.
Personally, I think we've heard the title for Bond 22 already. During the scene in the train car when Vesper nails Bonds personality, then talks about him risking his life "For Queen and Country". This seems like a decent title. Original, yet still very Fleminguesque, so to speak.
However, I hope they go with "Property of a Lady". The property in question woulr more than likely refer to Vespers necklace, and would have something to do with the Algerian boyfriend being the villain, if this is indeed true. Not only that, but you can do the postering font very similar to casino Royale:

That's effing brilliant! {[] Hadn't thought the boyfriend might be the villian, but what a great twist...hope they go there and do that, love it when Bond gets personal.

Gota say that's the best idea i've heard!! Hopefully, if any of the Eon crew read this then please take note and consider that idea

Not bad, Thunderballs.
I like the idea of the title "For Queen and Country." That is very easily a Flemingesque title.
I read that the next Bond picture was a brand new story which is to be written by a new 'Bond author'. This new author is apparently a top name in the spy/thriller genre. Names such as Frderick Forsyth and John Le Carre have already been linked with it.
The new author is to be revealed soon apparently. ?:)
"Deal with the Devil" sounds good. It sounds like a Bond title without any of the overused words (die, kill, gold etc.) "Deal" reminds people of gambling, and dealing with the devil is what Bond does. He opposes evil, but he takes part in evil too.
"Whiteout" is a reference to mr. White, but also to the sensation where it's hard to see your surrondings.
"Fury of an Angel" - well, first of all it sounds cool. I imagine Bond finding an ally in a nun (yes, a nun!). She is trying to harm the organization of mr. White or someone in it after they killed an entire mission station or something. She shoudn't throw herself in Bond's arms, she should be convincing. It's about time Bond-girls got outragous again, like it was in the sixties. Remember: a lesbian pilot called Pussy Galore (with a troup of female pilots) who gets "turned" by Bond. Or a shell-gatherer who kills her rapist with a spider.
I imagine the poster image- Monica Bellucci in a nun's outfit, with blood on the white of her clothes and a Kalashnikov in her hands!
If that isn't a striking image, what is?
Here's one for the Take This With A Grain Of Salt file. . .according to that bastion of journalistic integrity, The Sun, the next Bond film will indeed be Risico. Everybody put your tongues in your cheeks and read along:
007 guns for drug baron
DANIEL Craig’s next Bond outing will be based on the Ian Fleming short story Risico, The Sun can reveal.
Writers are tweaking the plot so it acts as a direct sequel to current smash Casino Royale.
It will see 007 dispatched to Rome to infiltrate a drug ring flooding Britain with heroin. Bond’s enemy in the book is called Columbo.
A source said: “Bosses were so pleased with how well Casino Royale has been received that work has already commenced on Risico at Pinewood Studios. Some of the same characters will crop up again. But one of the main aspects will be to develop Bond’s complex personality.”
Casino Royale director Martin Campbell is due to take the reins again.
Nevermind that Campbell has said he won't be returning. And--err--Columbo wasn't the enemy in the story (though Fleming creates some ambiguity about that), and the whole blasted story was used in FYEO, so what's left to film?
Oh, on the same page there's a story about Craig being voted the sexiest man alive. Take that, George Clooney!
it says on IMDB that Risico is the fak working title for bond 22, so i assume they wont use it for the film, or base the film on it, using risico as a working title would be giving too much away if they wwere indeed going to use it for the next movie.
"The end of (name of film)... but James Bond will return in (name of next film)"
I would love some more "back to roots" touches... Shirley Bassey or Tom Jones singing the theme... a proper gun barrel with music ala FRWL, GF or TB era (guitar solo) and MORE exotic locations.
CR "felt" like a Bond film in locations. That's been missed!
If they do not go with a Fleming story for Bond 22, a group of us on another film forum were tossing around the idea of a stroy kicked off by M being assassinated. It would continue the "shock to the system" that was CR, and would pave the way for a new kind of M.
For M, I want to see a tough-as-nails old man who could have very well been in Bond's shoes 30 years ago. It would provide a bit of a new dynamic - a boss who knows exactly what sort of missions he's sending Bond on, because he's been there and done that. My picks? Terence Stamp or Ian McShane.
My idea is to give Villiers (M's secretary) some vital information, but the villans kill him before he can give it to his boss. In this way we can introduce Moneypenny within a dramatic story, just like they did with Leiter in CR.
If they replace Dench they should do it your way. But the IF is a huge.
I'd prefer they keep Dench, she's a fine M, IMO. If they can do what you're talking about as quickly as it reads in your post, 24, I'd be okay with it. Too much time on the supernumeraries takes away from Bond.

Plot Outline: Continuing on from the events of Casino Royale, Bond 22 is reportedly going to be based on Ian Fleming short story "Risico," which appeared in his book For Your Eyes Only.
Why can't Eon Productions consider any of the Gardner or Benson novels? Are they too cheap?
That's a good question. I haven't read any of those, but I have to say I like the titles, especially "No Deals, Mr. Bond" (nice pulpy sound to it)

"No Deals, Mr. Bond" never worked for me as a title, for some reason...
Of the Gardner titles, I like "Scorpius" quite a lot, and the villain's death is just cool B-) "Icebreaker" of course sounds great...
I've been told that it's simply economics---Eon already own one of the most famous brand names in entertainment, and thus don't want to spend money on the rights to any of the post-Fleming Bond novels. They've got the character, they can do whatever they want. I think Gardner planted the seeds for several good movies in his books, but we'll likely never see them actually purchased---only unofficially 'borrowed from' :v
If it is Risico, I'm perfectly fine with another Fleming title :007) and a potential heroin-driven villain's plot...

I don't think they could credibly ever have Ian McShane due to the fact that most Brits 25 and over would be waiting for him to produce some tacky antique from the pocket of his 3/4 length leather jacket and give an impromptu valuation )
I know a lot of my opinions are a bit curve ball but I quite fancy Pete Postlethwaite or Tom Wilkinson in the role. They can both really carry a serious role and have the age and appearance of time served MOD blokes.
I was watching DAF the other night and it made me think of a PTS for Bond 22. At the end of CR they never really showed how Bond found Mr. White, Vesper gave him the name but he had to locate him somehow. Thought maybe they could show him working his way up the ladder 'asking' where Mr. White is.. ala DAF when he's tracking Bloefeld down. It would give DC a chance to show his brutal side again. Then at the end of the PTS they continue right where they left off in CR.

My third and fourth picks, believe it or not. And in that order. Wilkinson is a fine actor, but the other three gents have a sharper edge to them. I want an M with TEETH.

(forgive my cheesy Carry On humour please ;% )
As for Risco, I really like it. I think, like others, that it sounds like a fancy risk, which fits Bond perfectly...
