More screen time for other MI6 personnel

If you look closer at the Bond films, you would notice that the other MI6 staff have very precious screen time and I feel this fact has been overlooked by the filmmakers. (I am aware of Q getting in on the action in LTK and M has a slightly more extended bit in TWINE but nothing more.)

I would really like it if there were more screen time devoted to Bond's colleagues, but with the direction they're going with Daniel Craig, I do not see this coming any time soon. 8-)

Completely disagree. One of my biggest gripes about the Brosnan films is that they gave way too much screen time to MI6 personnel. In many of the earlier films, M, Q and Moneypenny often only had one scene with Bond, and maybe some other short scenes showing them back at headquarters. Maybe it's because Dame Judy is in the role, but M especially has become too prominent. I can forgive it for TWINE, where they made her a part of the plot, but in general I would prefer the focus to be on Bond and/or his adversaries, not the extended "team".

I want to watch a Bond Film, not a Tanner or Robinson film.

I woudln't mind seeing more 00's in the field though, either helping Bond, or their paths crossing eg Octopussy, PTS of Living Daylights

I can't. Kidnapping "M" should provide a whole storyline (and indeed does in Colonel Sun) and not just some weird 15 min subplot.

I don't like M & co having too much involvement in the plot. What made the old films feel exotic is that Bond would have his little briefing in this nondescript London office, and then would be sent out into the world leaving all the old duffers behind.

I think it retains some of his mystique, even to his superiors.

I agree with Sir Hillary and Ac7e. I want to watch a Bond film which is one of the reasons why I hate DAD so much (it became a Bond and Jinx film just like TND became a Bond and Wai Lin film). I love the scenes with M, Q and Moneypenny, but I prefer for them to be only at the beginning and the end (when M is attempting to locate Bond.) I don't love the extra time dedicted to M in the Brosnan films. TWINE is a good example of this. Not only was the abduction of M unnecessary but it didn't really serve any purpose other than to remind the audience of Electra's feelings for M. It also turned out to be quite pointless as apart from Bond's releasing M, nothing was made of it.
