That doesn't ring a bell at all, but I'm pretty sure you can find some clips on Youtube. There's a streaming video restriction at work so I can't check, but if you put in "ruby spears superman" into the search box, I'm sure you'll get some hits.

BTW Rogue, there's a more extensive interview with Brandon Routh online where he talks a little more about Superman: The Man of Steel. He again says he hopes to start filming early next years and is looking forward to "throwing some punches". Bryan Singer still appears to be attached, but hopefully he'll redeem himself. Here's a link to the full interview. The Superman bits are about halfway down.

The full Hulk trailer is now online courtesy of Apple Quicktime. Be warned that the trailer pretty much gives the whole plot of the movie away.

The Hulk still looks fake to me (and he looks to be about 15 feet tall again), I really don't like Ed Norton's whiney voice, and Thunderbolt Ross acts more like Thunderdolt Ross. Just my opinion but ... meh.

    See it here...

Thanks for the link, man but personally, I loved it. Yeah you're right about The Hulk looking like an Xbox cutscene in some instances but this trailer got me pumped to go see it even more.

I think that they made him overly-detailed as opposed to the natural look of Lee's version. He doesn't blend in as well around his surroundings as much as he should and in other shots, he looks very good so it's not a consistent job from the CGI Dept.

    Yeah...and he's fifteen feet tall again... :)) :)) :))

With the Tony Stark connection, this flick will do fine if not sensational...well at least I hope it does.

Even the acolytes here at work are stoked beyond belief at this trailer but that wasn't much of a surprise anyway. :))

Rogue, I was never much of a Hulk fan, but from what I've seen so far of this new adaptation, I must say that I prefer Lee's version and Eric Bana's Dr. Banner is much preferable to meely mouse Edward Norton. God, that voice just grates on my nerves. And, I must agree with Tony. That new trailer did nothing for me. I would rather watch the Dolphster's Punisher than this film, and you know what I think of "God talk to me!"

I wasn't damning the trailer for doing that, just making the spoiler sensitive folks like Dan aware of it. Hey man, don't shoot the messenger. :))

As to why I'm crapping on it, I guess some movies just hit you the wrong way; Hulk is shaping up like that for me. Much like with CR, I find myself just not liking any of the casting or creative decisions being made.

I seem to recall somebody giving one of the Iron Man teasers a hard time for shaky CGI work, but Hulk gets a free ride, eh. :v

To each his own but, based on the trailer at least, the confrontations with the military feel cheap to me. In the Ang Lee version, they throw everything at Hulk: tanks, helicopters, jets, rockets. Here, all we see (so far at least) is a few guys in riot gear.

If anything, all this does is make me pine for a BluRay version of the Ang Lee film.
With the Tony Stark connection, this flick will do fine if not sensational...well at least I hope it does.

I dunno, it just doesn't seem to be generating any buzz at all and given the abundance of comic book films coming out I'm fearful that people will be burning out on these movies as the summer wears on. Truthfully, I'm even more worried for The Dark Knight in that respect as it doesn't come out until mid July; I hope it doesn't show up for the party after all the guests have left.
Even the acolytes here at work are stoked beyond belief at this trailer but that wasn't much of a surprise anyway. :))

Do they have Hulk action figures sitting on the edge of their desks yet? :))

I prefer the Lee version as well, Spec; it was great...but I am a Hulk fan so I will see this picture opening day.

Of course, I've always tried to be honest if a movie sucked or not and I will with this one if it does. I just don't think that it will suck so at least check it out, man. Matinee at least? :D

Had to compromise with the Dolphster didn't you? I can't be mad with that... :)) :)) :))

Well when I last peered over, one had a Magneto statue on his desk but believe me...it's coming. :))

TDK will do better than fine so we won't have comic book film overload. Over the last 6-8 months it has been slim pickings at the theatres; nothing was really out there to pique my interest and make the dollars jump from my pocket.
Just look at this summer as making up for lost time. This summer's lineup will be quite memorable even twenty years from now. When was the last time that happened? B-)

I hope you're right and there are a lot of great movies coming out this summer. But other than die hard genre fans like us, I wonder how many regular moviegoers will want to see everything rather than wait for some of them to come out on home video. Think back to 1989: Batman and Indiana Jones & the Last Crusade cleaned up at the box office (and coincidentally, they were two of the first big movies to come out that summer) and a slew of other films including License to Kill and Star Trek V (both of which came out later in the season) got destroyed. That's why I worry for Hulk and Hellboy 2 and even TDK to a certain extent.

Don't forget about Ghostbusters II. It bumrushed alot of the dollars that year too. License To Kill didn't have a chance.

I'm not a regular moviegoer, but nor am I a die hard (magnificent film BTW :)) ) comic book fan like you and Rogue. However, I can assure you that I will be seeing all of these films; IM, DK, Hulk and Hellboy 2. :D

The first review of Speed Racer (from the Hollywood Reporter) is up. Quick summary: outstanding (if unrealistic) visuals and a weak story.

Yeah, Tony, I expect this movie will get a considerable amount more of average to poor reviews in the coming days if not hours.

I still don't think that will hurt its box office take in the least because of the eye candy it provides. Kids are likely to come out in droves for this one. Heck, I'm curious to see this myself and I'm sure my brother, who's a diehard fan, will be there opening day.

Speed just better wear the ascot. :D

Marvel Studios Sets Four More Release Dates!
Source: Marvel Entertainment May 5, 2008

Marvel Entertainment released their first quarter report to its shareholders this morning to coincide with the announcement about the success this past weekend of Marvel Studios' first production Iron Man, which grossed an estimated $104.2 million domestically and over $201 million worldwide. The announcement included an update of Marvel Studios' feature film slate with the already-rumored Iron Man 2 announced for a release on April 30, 2010, followed by three more movies for the summers of '10 and '11. Matthew Vaughn's Thor is set for a release on June 4, 2010, and The First Avenger: Captain America (the working title) will kick off the summer of 2011 on May 6, followed by the highly-anticipated and foreshadowed The Avengers scheduled for July 2011. (Edgar Wright's Ant-Man is also listed as being in development with no release date set.)

In a conference call this morning, Marvel Studios' David Maisel said that Iron Man 2 will be used to introduce Thor. Regarding more "Hulk" movies, Maisel said "We definitely plan on continuing." He added that development continues on Spider-Man 4. "I can't give any other updates other than to say it's in development and everybody's excited about 'Spider-Man 4,'" he said.

With that in mind, one can start expecting a lot more announcements in the coming months about creative teams and casting for those movies including who might direct the Captain America and Avengers movies. (Whomever plays Steve Rogers AKA Captain America presumably will be making two movies at once.)

While I'm not exactly itching for an Ant-Man movie, the prospect of seeing Iron Man II, Thor, Captain America and then an Avengers movie - if they're done right of course - sounds really really awesome. Are you listening DC?

The Marvel sisters much be having a nerdgasm over this. {:)

Yes, the sisters are the ones who got the news of this first. They are letting me have it left and right about "my DC" not getting "it."

If Marvel cranks out an Ant-Man movie, I promise you it will be equivalant to DC's Cat Woman.

It will be really interesting to see the foundations for a Avengers movies being laid...although I'm curious how the studios like Paramount (Iron Man) and Universal (Hulk) will figure into it. Who is going to land the franchise?

I've heard nothing about a Green Lantern movie since the initial story that a script was in development - and that was before the writers strike.

The Sisters do have a very valid point: beyond Batman and Superman, WB is pretty clueless when it comes to nurturing their comics properties. And even with those two, they're apt to screw it up more often than not.

Honestly, sometimes I wish Time Warner would just spin off DC, sell it all to Marvel and be done with it.

My understanding is that now that Marvel is financing these movies the studios only have distribution rights (much like 20th Century Fox with Star Wars or Paramount with Indiana Jones). And after two or three movies, those revert back to Marvel who can do with them as they like. While characters like Spiderman, X-Men and the Fantastic Four are probably still tied up with Sony and Fox, I'm sure Marvel has prepared their contracts for IM, Cap, Thor and Hulk so that even if multiple studios release them, there can still be an Avengers crossover movie.

Whoa. Let's not go that far. I couldn't coexist in this particular workplace if that happened nor at home. :))

In DC's defense, albeit meager, they have backed some of their properties like 300, Watchmen & V For Vendetta.

It's the staple heroes that they seem to overlook out of pompousness or just sheer ignorance.

Green Lantern would make more than Iron Man did over the first week with the right team behind it. With the tech that's being used out there today, a CGI team could have a field day with the effects.

Teen Titans + younger audiences and parents who grew up reading the books= Big bucks!

Many others under their umbrella could claim the same results like The Flash, Shazam!, etc.

Wonder Woman is probably the only character I'd worry about in big budget because she comes across as sort of a man-hater now. With 75% of your fanbase being male, that's not going to fly.

I love the straight to dvd stuff but please, Warner, get a pair and make this happen. :#

To Marvel's credit, they actually seem to have a strategic plan, re: The Avengers...remember when DC ruled the comic book movie roost? It's been a while---and while they've slept, Marvel has run the table. Good for them.

I'm positively dying to see what they do with Cap.

I know it's only a working title, but I kind of like that "The First Avenger" moniker for Cap; pretty evocative and it really stays with you. I hope they keep it.

I'm also really curious to see what they do with him. I find it almost impossible to believe that they will ditch his WWII origins. What's his history like in the Ultimates line? Is he also a veteran of WWII in that universe as well?

    He is...and Bucky isn't in a costume, if I remember right. He's basically a starstruck G.I.

I'm thinking of the big graphic novel, though---there's a great scene where they all talk about who would play them in a movie...and Samuel L. Jackson crops up in the conversation, re: Nick Fury B-) No kidding.

They don't spend much time with Cap in WWII...they basically tell the story of how he ended up in the ice. I'd love a WWII story...but I'm damned if I can figure out how all of these films will end up at the right place in time for an Avengers pic :s

With regards to Captain America, they could go the route of the direct to video movie from the early 90's where the first half was in WWII and the second half shifted to modern times. Or his film could end with him being frozen and the Avengers movie, which tentatively will premier a few months later, could beging with his being found and thawed out in the first act of their movie.

Regardless of what they do, something tells me Marvel has already got this all mapped out, if only in a rudimentary way.
